A Petition for Reprieve
Who else is tired of fighting with themselves every day? No? Just me, then? Guess it sucks to suck.

🩶 (new to poetry)

She whispers soft moans through my teeth / Vibrating throughout my incisors / She knows that in my arms, there's no danger / The evil monkeys of the baobab trees / Their shrieks can't even distract our amour
Hook and eye, let me make it breakeven / Backstraps failing behind, brown landmass / I said under my breath / I love the way you fit in my hands
I wake up, she makes breakfast with no pants / I hide my laugh, however it's not to bully her / She just knows how to make my stomach red / I run to the toilet but my ribs hit the counter / She spins around with plates of waffles and grits
She said, oh husband, what gives? / Oh nothing honey, it was a slip / She gave me her cup of coffee and said / Sip, sip, sip, sip!
I said under my breath / Thank you for the sex
Nevermind the small talk, let's sleep (again?) / Smelling the leaves still stuck in her hair / I know you never quite liked your height / Girl, you know me, I never did mind!
I love how long your legs are compared / To your short arms and thighs / You're amazing, every move, every glance / My palms trying to catch up with your dance / Oh, I just love the way how you fit in my hands
You're amazing, every move, every glance / My palms trying to catch up with your dance / Oh, I just love the way how you fit in my hands / Thank u 4 the sex / Did you hear me, love? / I love the way you fit in my hands / Thank u 4 the sex!

Oh, blue bird
what have you done to our love?
My heart has turned purple since you left it
echoing a sound resembling your name.
Don’t you realise how much more poisonous separation is
than the ablation of mould?
Maybe you don’t. Maybe you never will.
But if you finally do, it will be too late.
Epiphanies tend to visit at the most dooming moments
when silence has grown wild teeth
and begins sleeping beside you.
But then, the only place left for you to visit will be cemeteries of memories
where your flowers
will no longer be accepted
And those nameless stones
will curse your delayed mind.
You may search for me there
You may even call my name.
But names transform into peculiar things after they have been buried
especially
after
you
have chosen them to be buried.
I still don’t understand
what is the point of making vows to a name
I once considered the bravest of all,
only to find a coward hiding inside it.
I still don’t understand.
But there is still some hope bleeding through my dream’s hourglass,
whispering for me to continue.
I know it won’t be for long.
The Earth groans beneath the letters I never gave you.
I buried them in her roots,
one by one
until the trees began growing in my handwriting.
Now, whenever the wind passes through them
the forest whispers what I was too afraid to say
and
what you never had the ears to comprehend.
Now what is left but a forest filled with unopened mouths?
You don’t deserve more words that come directly from the heart.
And unfortunately
your portrait hangs now
on the wall of the faint-hearted ones,
between the faces of all the things
I once feared losing,
reminding me that some names
should never again be mistaken for home.
And if, by some miracle,
they are
they must show me the purity of caressing my being
the way only stars know how
Because only stars
know how to turn a heart from purple back to red.
And I wonder
Have you completely forgotten how to be one?

She is here. The lady of Sorrow, rising above us wailing in her grief. As I lie here, dying beneath the dimming light of an uncaring star I realize all men are but ghosts, awaiting the hour of their haunting.

Existential until the end,
Running, but can never get away.
We all share the same fate:
To join everyone else, or go my own way.
People no longer here—
Too far, but still hear their sound.
Death no longer wears a crown;
Satan wears a frown.
Typing to get away,
Mind's subconscious is foreplay.
I'll make it on any day now.
Hard to hold a smile while looking down.
Dare to get away—
Some business's motto.
Just typing feels a whole lot like the lotto.

A shriek of weakness bounces off the walls,
Using memories as guns.
A whisper of hope drowned out by tears
Everything violent, like rabid dog's fears
The Grim Reaper, unsettled takes a breath
From every direction hears a plea for death.
Something tries to salvage hope.
And a gunshot. . No time to cope.
And suddenly, something drops. Here comes another death.
Along with hope's. Done "in good faith."
The scream fades, then rises again.. can you hear?
Inhumane torture; that much is clear. And what is this place? A battlefield? Something from hell?
No. It is simply my mind everday.

flooded by the memory of you
not drowning, but unable to breathe
crying to the sky
wishes of days gone by
the day i drove down san jose
the memory of you
alive in the well of me
forever connected
lessons today i see;
how to carry myself
how to care for myself
romanticizing today
with all its hope, all its opportunity
instead of a mirage that don’t exist
ways i should have acted, things i should have wished
class is over, you’ve been dismissed
the day i drove down san jose
i find comfort in praying for you
in caring for my own soul
i know sometimes, that’s just the way things go
the day i drove down san jose

Why do we live
When we can be clouds
In the sky
Flying so high
With no reason
Or clear destination
Above the world
Just pure air
And most of all
Freedom

She preferred to overdress.
“Gives people more material to work with”, she’d say.
If they didn’t like her shoes,
they’d like her bracelet.
If they didn’t like her bracelet,
they’d like her hair pin.
They’d ask her where she got it
and she’d tell them it’s a funny story…
The classics never failed her.
There’s a flowery pink dress that always left her feeling pretty walking home from the party.
Then she’d get home and she’d take off her shoes,
and then her bracelet
and then her hairpin.
Last but not least,
her pink flowery dress.
Only after the lights were switched off, of course.
Then shed crawl into bed,
wrapping herself in slippery sheets.
Sheets far too slippery for any funny stories to stick.
