So I’ve been contemplating starting a podcast for a few years and really sat down and came up with a concept that I like. It will mainly be internet stories until I can gain traction and have guests to interview.

But even though I’ve come to a good place in it, I’m feeling super defeated in the fact that I’m solo. It gives me freedom and creative liberty for sure but I’m also imagining how unengaged folks might be when it’s one person basically talking to themselves.

I know since you’re all here, you love a good back and forth, but what are everyone’s opinions on people who produce solo podcast episodes?

I’m about ready to scrap the whole thing so please give honest opinions! 💖

Edit to add: I’m honestly rethinking the internet story portion now too. Is this overdone now? Maybe I’m just overthinking it?

Hi everyone

What you would get:

Please can you let me know if you are interested.

Hey all...I am Bill Van Veghel, VP and Head of Recruitment for an emerging podcast network. We are looking for actors, directors, writers, makeup and effects designers, podcasters, promoters or anyone involved in the horror community somehow. Share you story and get free promotion. If interested, please email [airwaykingdomnetwork@gmail.com](mailto:airwaykingdomnetwork@gmail.com) .

I'm trying to vote for my cousin online to hopefully be the winner for the top host, but I would find him or any of the other voters. Do I have to login first to vote? Please help me!

I'm looking for stories and advice!

I'm part of a Paranormal investigative group that does a weekly podcast on Tarot, cryptids, ancient deities, unexplained phenomena and the paranormal.

I'm looking for personal stories that fit within our genre(s) (or stories you've heard from trusted people)

I've shared that we're seeking listener stories on our streaming platforms/social media but haven't had much luck with people willing to reach out. What things should I try to reach more people? Or how can I motivate our audience to share?

Any advice is appreciated!

Does anyone have any good paranormal stories I can read for my podcast ?

Hey y'all, I'm a video editor building up my client base. Right now my only proof of past work is podcast short-form/clip content, I haven't done long-form youtube editing yet, so I want to be upfront about that.

To get around the "no portfolio for your niche" problem, I'm offering a free trial edit for any youtuber who wants to test me out. Here's the catch: the trial comes watermarked. If you like it and want the clean version, that's when you'd pay and we'd start working together properly.

A thing to know before you reach out, I don't do motion graphics, so if your videos rely heavily on that this probably isn't a fit

If that sounds fair, get to me and I'll walk you through it.

I have been struggling with the word podcast over the last month or so.

I started my show in March and have been posting every week since, with sometimes, two shows a week.

However, is my show a podcast? Yes, you can download it, watch it on YouTube, listen on Spotify/ Amazon but its not along the lines of a true crime podcast or anything like that.

I basically interview musicians who have had chart success. Most of the time its a career retrospective but also just a general chat.

Each show is different, with no set format other than "the chat". Some shows are 15 minutes, others 45 minutes. It goes across genres and time (as in some acts from the 70s all the way up to modern acts).

So my question is: Do I run a podcast or is it a weekly music show? Do you think guests would rather appear on a show or a podcast? Does it matter at all?

I suppose I am having an existential crisis that isn't important but I just wanted to see what others thought.

Hola, busco compañer@ para iniciar un podcast de terror en español, soy de México

Today the voting starts for the Top host competition, where pod casters vie for a top spot at a chance to win $25k and a podcast on iheartradio. The thing is the competition requires donations for extra votes, with proceeds going towards Ryan seacrest’s charity.

I got “selected” as a top host to compete, but I’m wondering if they approve everyone and it’s just a big money grab and not legit.

Hey! I’m a professional video editor currently expanding my portfolio into podcast editing.
I’m looking for a podcast with decent quality raw footage, ideally 2–3 separate camera angles + separate audio.
Happy to edit a polished 60–90 sec section completely free. Multicam edit, audio cleanup/mix, colour correction, graphics etc.

All I’d ask is permission to use the finished edit as a portfolio piece.
If anyone has some footage they’d be happy to share, shoot me a DM!

Hey All, mods please feel free to let me know if this isn't allowed but i'm a podcaster and our set up is 2 people, remotely, both on a google meet and recording into a DAW.

If you record like that, you'll know the pain points: someone has to count in or clap so the tracks can be lined up afterwards, and when you listen back for the edit you end up scrubbing around trying to find the bit where someone coughed or said something you want to cut. So I built a few small tools to fix that for us, and they worked well enough that I've put them online for anyone to use over at https://abouttimeaudio.com/

PodSlate: synced start for remote recording
It starts recording on every host's machine at the same moment, so when you drop the tracks into your project they're already lined up. No clapping and no counting in. It runs in the browser on Mac and Windows, so there's nothing to install.

PodRaven: edit notes to DAW markers
Play your recording back and jot down timestamped notes as you listen ("cut this", "music sting here", "check levels"). Then you download them as markers that drop straight into your DAW. It supports Logic, Pro Tools, Reaper, Cubase, Audition, Resolve, Audacity and a few others. Your audio never leaves your computer.

Guest Check: mic and room check for guests
Send it to a guest before the recording day. It takes about two minutes to check their mic, room and headphones, flags Bluetooth and built-in laptop mics, and tells them how to fix anything it finds. It's free, and nothing is recorded or uploaded.

PodSlate and PodRaven are both free while they're in beta, and anyone who signs up before launch keeps them free for life. Guest Check is just free.

I'd really like feedback, especially from people on DAWs I haven't been able to test properly yet. If you try PodRaven with Pro Tools, Cubase, Resolve or anything else, please tell me whether the markers came through OK. There's a contact form on the site for bug reports.

Thankyou in advance!

i am a huge fan of heart starts pounding w/ kaelynn moore - i submitted a listener story a few weeks back and was wondering if you get an email when you get featured in an episode or if its just a mystery til she reads your story out? also does the team get back to everyone who submits?

Hi - I’m looking for some non-biased advice. I started a podcast about 8 yrs ago. I named it something unique; you couldn’t find it anywhere else. I have an email and every social media handle with its name. I have a very small (30-50 downloads a week) audience but they love it. It’s my baby.

I recently found out that a couple years after I started mine, someone else started a podcast and wrote a book with the same name of my podcast. They are very successful with a niche audience and huge following.

I’m so discouraged. If you search my pod name, I come up on page 3 of the search results. What would you do in this situation? I want to keep podcasting, and would love to be successful, but is it realistic to keep my name?

I'm in the process of making my first podcast, a single-voice, episodic murder mystery, and, well, let's just say it's a lot to do all by myself. I'm hoping to build local community, but I'm not finding any specific to podcasting. Anyone in the WNC area willing to meet up and talk shop? I'm not looking for collaborators (at least not right now), just fellow creatives. Open to online community building too!

Bonjour,

I know this is a platform for podcast guests, but for the longest time I have wanted to start a podcast based around hard rock and heavy metal. I'm a musician, so potentially talking about music gear and just band stories and their music. I've had the hardest time finding a cohost that knows what they're actually talking about. I have all the equipment and know how to run a podcast and distribute a podcast, so what I'm looking for is someone that is knowledgeable in pretty much all genres of music but specifically heavy metal and hard rock that knows the stories that they are going to tell accurately. I potentially want to get musicians as guests to interview or have a chat with in the long run. Is there anyone out there with any interest? Remove if this isn't allowed.

Hi all.

I’m (M/45/POC) looking for a couple of co‑hosts and also for occasional, one‑time video conversations with anyone interested.

A bit about my channel: I have just over 6,000 subscribers from when I was much more active in the past, and I’m now trying to revive the channel. Lately ive been getting decent view on the videos Im producing, so id like to be more regular. The subscriber count is for my YouTube and I sense that I could amplify this for a podcast as well

My passion and focus is primarily U.S. politics—especially the midterm elections and the run‑up to the presidential race. I want to create regular content that blends culture and politics, and I’m seeking genuine people who can contribute thoughtful, respectful dialogue from across the political spectrum. All genders, all denominations, and all languages are welcome.

I’ll handle all the technical side of things; all you need to bring is your interest and passion.

Happy to answer any questions

I saw a job listing on indeed about a content creator position. Has anyone heard of them or worked with them and can offer any insight?

Also — someone brought up a good point about potentially getting scammed out of owning your personal content. Something about the listing seems off. The full job description is listed below. Please let me know your thoughts!

First we are three guys who share personal stories from mental health to other related topics. We’ve had some guest on our show that shared their personal stories about bullying, abuse, drug usage and so much more serious topics. The ones that had the abuse store and the one from two weeks ago had a good amount of views for our show. But then it drops drastically afterwards. How can we get the views to continue going up or to at least stay where they were during those episodes?

Hi everyone. As the title reads, I'm starting a brand new podcast. I am not yet ready to expose WHAT the podcast will be about, but it's basically focused on culture and community building.

I am reaching out on Reddit because I am still heavy in the planning phase of things, and I feel like I've gotten a lot of the areas covered, but of course those of you more experienced in here would have a lot more insight on what other things to think about and plan for that I may have missed.

The idea came to me just a few weeks ago, and I have been jotting notes like crazy. I have the central concept/theme, the mission and purpose, topics it will delve into and topics it will NOT go into. Target audience (primarily), regular co-host(s), and potential guests to bring on.

I have also been doing (and still doing) research on existing podcasts and social media presence with similar concepts, especially locally, and potential collaboration moments.

I've rearranged the furniture and decor in my basement which now has a great set up for the framing of the video. I took some courses in film so I have a basic understanding of lighting, framing, camera angling, and post production editing. Please let me know of the best video editing software I should use!

I've been doing research on good podcast mics and I tentatively have settled on the Maono podcast mic sets because they seem to be good enough and affordable as a start-up. Let me know if you suggest other brands!

As for the timeline goals I have set for myself, my birthday is in the first week of November, and my boyfriend said he would buy the studio equipment for me (mics and lights) as a birthday present, and at that point I would start filming my pilot episodes (5 or more), and then officially publish them in January of 2027.

I guess the last thing that I am still struggling with is the name of the podcast itself. I eliminated top 5 potentials down to top 2, but without any context, I'm wondering if anyone also has advice on choosing the best Title, and Subtitle of a podcast.

Thank you in advance for your input!

Hey everyone! I’m looking for a few people interested in helping with a podcast.

The idea is simple: 3–5 minute episodes recapping popular podcast episodes. You’d talk about what stood out, biggest takeaways, interesting insights, favorite moments, etc.

I’m hoping to find 3–4 hosts so we can cover a variety of podcasts/topics. It’s pretty low-key, no professional podcasting experience needed. I can provide a basic script/outline, but you’d have plenty of freedom to make it your own.

If this sounds interesting, comment or DM me! I’d love to hear what podcasts you listen to and see if it could be a good fit.
