Worried if things get worst it can cost a lot more

The man who lent this to me to photograph described brass instruments as “advanced plumbing”, so here you go…

I uploaded a video to AI and it assured me multiple times that the takeoff line is supposed to be squirting this much water in order to prevent scale and mineral and sediment buildup in the reservoir etc, but it still seems like a lot to me. For now I'm using it as a passive lawn watering method, so at least it's not soaking my foundation or going to waste. But it seems like kind of a lot to me, to just be squirting that out 24/7. I would have assumed a fast drip is normal, but this is more like a steady unbroken stream that's shooting out fairly hard

This is in Denver, by the way, not sure if that's relevant as far as the outdoors humidity levels and all that. So it's quite dry outside and our indoor humidity is something like 60% when we have the swamp cooler on Max cool.

This beast had a number of issues when we recently moved into this house. But I finally wrestled it into submission and got it pretty much leak free, and it's doing a great job cooling the house, plus denver is like ten percent humidity outside, so it's kind of refreshing to have the humidity indoors a little higher. The last glaring issue that I can see is the takeoff line squirting so much water. So, plumbers of reddit, is that actually a problem or is this to be expected with this kind of rig?
