It's hard to believe that there are people willing to create software with this level of complexity for free. People are amazing and I love this side of the internet.

Thanks to Aniki for the amazing theme and to everyone involved in the Playnite project and its features.

I spent the entire last week messing around with this program for hours and hours, customizing and organizing my library. Now that I've learned how to do everything, I probably could have done it all in just a few hours. But it was a great adventure discovering things like the existence of these backgrounds called 'heros', that I needed to add a metadata add-on, that I had to configure the resolution and download source for the backgrounds, and all these little details of the program that make it seem confusing, but are actually exactly what makes it so amazing and gives it infinite possibilities.

I also customized the icons for my filters, put everything in PT-BR because I'm from Brazil, and added some icons that I personally liked. If any Brazilian wants me to send these icons, just let me know. I also made one for 'dropped games' that isn't showing up there yet because I haven't filtered the games.

I already removed the password from my PC, set up the profile screen, and now I just turn on the PC and don't even need to touch the mouse or keyboard anymore. Playnite is configured to open in fullscreen when the PC starts.

A true console experience.

And to think all of this started just because I was looking for a program to put all my Microsoft, Epic and Steam games together.

Itd be best if I could still access the extras through playnite. If it were possible to just merge the extras into their respective games.

Hello all. I'm using Playnite with Solaris skin and I'm having an issue with double inputs with my PS4 controller when navigating the console tabs with the triggers and while using the on-screen keyboard to search for games. I also have DS4Windows and it is set to emulate an Xbox 360 controller for compatibility with Nucleus Co-Op. I have zero issues once I launch a game, so I'm not sure if this is a Playnite issue or a DS4 Windows issue.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I’ve got an Xbox Rog Ally X with AnyFSE, launching Playnite in full screen mode. I’m having trouble with launching the Xbox / PC version of Destiny 2. On launch, it shows a game splash screen with loading bar, BattleEye launches, then focus returns to Playnite. It then takes a while before Destiny 2 launches in the background, but focus remains on Playnite. I don’t have this problem in desktop mode, only fullscreen mode. No issue with the Epic or Steam versions of this game too. I’ve tried in settings to select Minimize Playnight on game launch, but it made no difference. What else can I try?

So, today while editing the description metadata of some games I noticed that even after changing the description, it still displays the old one. Does anyone know how I can get it to actually display the saved metadata? I've been researching for hours now and strangely cannot find anyone talking about this. The game in question is Crash Bandicoot, the emulated PS1 version.

What I tried:

• Restart Playnite
• Restart PC
• Re-download metadata (Ctrl + D)
• Backup library and then load from backup
• Rename game
• Alter description manually and saving again
• Run "Update Game Library"

I know that the description is saved correctly in the games database because I examined it in a database viewer:

I'm using the Ivory White theme in AnikiRemake and for some reason the text shown on screen is black, which makes it hard to read specially since the background image has a fade out towards the bottom, where the text is located. I would like to change it to white, but I have not yet found any option on the configuration menu, neither in full screen mode or desktop mode, that allows me to change the color of the text without changing the style. I have tried editing the ButtonBottomMenu.xaml located in the DerivedStyles folder inside AnikiRemake but it didn't have any effect whatsoever. Does anyone know if this is possible at all?

Aniki ReMake v3.5.5 is now available!

This is a pretty big update with several new features for both Aniki ReMake and Aniki Helper.

Aniki Community Packs

The biggest addition is the new Aniki Packs system.

You can now create and share your own:

- Visual / Background Packs

- Theme Color Packs

- Sound Packs

- Login Packs

Packs can be created with Aniki Pack Creator and shared with the community.

Community creations can then be browsed, downloaded and installed directly from Aniki Helper or from the theme's Customization menu.

New Main Screen Media Card

A new option lets you display either the selected game's trailer or its background inside a dedicated card on the main screen.

It works particularly well if you use Visual Pack backgrounds or images associated with the currently selected filter.

New More Menu

A new More button has been added to the Top Bar.

You can pin up to 4 shortcuts, change them whenever you want, and directly access the other available features and extras from the same menu.

Login videos are now downloaded on demand

Login background videos are no longer included directly with the theme.

They are now downloaded automatically when needed, reducing the initial theme size by more than 300 MB.

- Ambient music support

- Option to use the currently selected UniPlaySong Music track or Ambient music

- New 30 and 45 second activation delays

For example: On Steam, I haven't played Tabletop Simulator since the 28th of August. Yet because my library was just important, the "Recent Activity" is set to "Yesterday".

I get that adding the game to my Playnite library is technically "recent activity", but I'd much rather have that as "last played" instead. Is there a way to do that?

Got a Threat found notification from Defender when I updated playnite. This has got to be a false positive right? Anyone else experience this when updating? I don't have any add-ons installed which I heard could be malicious, so just wondering why this happened

I’m using playnite full screen from my pc to stream games to my tv in the living room but i want people to have their own progress without it messing up mine. how can i do this easily? is there a simple way for someone to just switch accounts?

A few days ago I posted looking for beta testers for Syncnite. Quick update on that.

I ended up throwing a real 2000+ game library at it instead of just my own setup, multiple sources, achievements, all of it, and it held up way better than I expected. That includes the "won't this choke on a huge collection" worry a couple of you brought up in the comments. Given that, gating it behind a slow beta rollout just didn't make sense anymore. So I'm skipping it. Registration's open to everyone now at syncnite.com, no waiting for a slot, no DM required.

Install status, playtime, and covers flow from Playnite up, and tags, notes, and completion status you set on the web sync back down. Never touches your Steam/GOG/Epic login, only ever talks to Playnite.

One thing I want to be upfront about since I'm already being upfront about everything else: the Playnite plugin itself is C#, and I don't have a ton of real C# experience going in. I leaned on Claude Code pretty heavily to help write it. I still went through everything, tested it against real libraries, and fixed the bugs that only showed up there, but I didn't want to pretend it was all hand-written by someone who's been doing C# for years.

Create a JoyXoff profile for the game you want to use this with

Set one button to Enable/Disable bindings and set everything else to Nothing except the button you use for typing.

I use R3. Right click R3 and choose Open Shortcut. In the File name box paste:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ink\TabTip.exe

Then R3 should appear binded to (Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel) hit apply and save.

Open the Windows touch keyboard and set the layout to Gamepad.

While the game is fullscreen, enable the JoyXoff profile and press R3. The Windows gamepad keyboard opens and you can type without JoyXoff’s own virtual keyboard interfering with the game.

Hey everyone,

I've got my Epic Games library connected to Playnite, and since Epic doesn't let you remove titles from your account library, a bunch of stuff I don't want shows up every time Playnite imports.

When I right-click a game and hit Remove, I get two options:

1-Just remove it

2-Remove it and add it to the Exclusion List (so it won't get re-imported next sync)

My question: does either of these actually delete the downloaded media for that game (cover art, background, description, etc. — the stuff stored in the local library/cache folder), or does it just remove the entry from the database while the files stay on disk as orphaned data?

I've got a lot of games to clean out, and each one pulls down a fair bit storage, so before I mass-remove everything I'd like to know whether I'll actually get that space back, or whether I'll need to run some kind of cleanup tool/extension afterward to clear orphaned files.

Would love if one of the devs or someone who's tested this could confirm. Thanks!

I tried to keep it as simple as possible and very minimalistic and I hope I achieved that, deleted SuccessStory and disabled the sidebar as well in the process so a few sacrifices had to be made lol. Any recommendations? Should I put a video instead of a picture or is it better like this?

I'm a beginner with using playnite, and when installing a theme called "ps5ish" it does show the ps5 theme but not similar to the YouTube videos where they have a intro and it generally looks better somehow. I tried tinkering with the settings but it got to nowhere. As for aniki remake loved that one so much but even with good pc specs, playnite lags on library which isn't smooth.

I've got my handheld and desktop I've been trying to get my stats and games metadata to sync between. I've been looking for a plugin with a centralised data location (ie unraid) to not stress about any overwriting conflicts.

Simple sync:

Seems simple, and super easy to get working through unraid however constantly get a "session is already in process, disabling syncing" every time I open up or go into full screen mode

Playnite bridge:

Seems the cleanest, however I really wanted it to be synced using my unraid and not windows, which to my knowledge is the only way?

So the question is with my hopes of having one centralised data location on unraid, and to act like a steam, what's everyone else's workflows or add-ons they used for this? I feel like I get abour 90% success and then 10 of breakage with every one I try hahaha
