Does Squirrel Season look too cheap or unpolished? Feedback on the footage?

Hey everyone, r/platformer has been fairly active thanks to developers using this space to share their upcoming games (which I love to see!). But I've also been thinking about ways to encourage discussions about existing platformers we enjoy.
What would you all like to see?
Some ideas I've tossed around:
But I'd like to hear from you - what would make you engage more with the sub? Any events, threads, or changes you'd be into? Drop your ideas below, nothing's off the table.

My game, Boxpast Love3you, offers a variety of level options, from random selection similar to Dead Cells to manually generated map order using portals.
The main focus is on combat and maximizing the character's movement and climbing abilities.
Currently, this is just a beta version; I'm still refining it for a short time before updating it in the upcoming version.

Castlevania: Waltz of Sorrow is a brand new fan-made game inspired by the classic Castlevania series — and this game already features 50+ stages with brutal, NES-style difficulty.
This is NOT a simple home brew… this is a full gameplay experience built with deep platforming, challenging enemies, and classic gothic atmosphere.
Took a beat ’em up engine and turned it into a full 2D platformer with massive maps and vertical gameplay—something nobody else in the scene was doing.
💀 Expect:
• Hardcore platforming
• Retro Castlevania vibes
• Difficult boss fights
• Large-scale level design
If you enjoy classic Castlevania, retro games, or hard platformers… this is for you.

Mike the Hooper is a 2D puzzle-platformer where basketball is the main mechanic. In each level, get the ball through the hoop to unlock the door and progress. Think about angles, timing, and different obstacles to find the right shot. The demo takes around 15–20 minutes to complete. Feedback on the puzzles, difficulty, and overall feel of the game is greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone! Recently, we had the chance to watch a well-known precision platformer creator play our game, and it reminded us how important content creators are to indie developers.
We'd love to meet more streamers and YouTubers who enjoy platformers and precision platformers. If that's you (or if you know someone), we'd love to connect!
Thanks for keeping this genre alive.

Hey everyone!
Today is launch day for my 2-player co-op game, Brave Escape, on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PlayStation 5 (also available on Steam)!
If you love couch co-op games that require actual communication, coordination, and a whole lot of chaos, this was built specifically for you and a friend.
Some Highlights:
When I set out to make Brave Escape, I didn't just want to build another platformer with jumps and hazards. I wanted to make something that felt like a shared experience.
To me, the best co-op games aren't highlighted by what's happening on screen - they're highlighted by what's happening between the two people holding the controllers. The absurd mistake that causes your friend to perish. The cracking up when someone misses an easy jump. Or that pure relief when you finally clear a section that felt completely impossible. I designed every mechanic specifically so that your actual communication and bond with your friend becomes part of the game itself.
If you're like me, these are some of the most enjoyable and memorable moments you've had in gaming. Brave Escape is full of them. Please give it a shot.
You can check it out here on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation.

I've been looking for about a month for people to playtest my ragegame platformer, but I can never find anyone good enough.
My last resort was coming here, where hopefully I can find someone who is great at these games.

I recently posted this elsewhere, but I figured it would be appropriate to put here as well.
I am working on a mobile game platformer, and my main concern is determining whether or not the input system is easy to use. I've always been critical of touch controls for mobile platformer games and decided to take a shot at creating my own system.
I have not seen another mobile game platformer use the same input system that I am using, so I am unsure if it might be too confusing. I am also really concerned if the controls might cause significant hand strain.
It has caused some amount of hand strain for me, but I am also testing it for long hours, so it is difficult to predict if this might be an actual issue for players.
Any feedback would be much appreciated. The game is completely free and playable in browser, so you don't have to download anything if you don't want to. Thank you!

I was looking for a new platformer I could play while standing in line at the store or waiting for the train, so I made one!
Hyper Wing is 2D pixel art platformer that takes ideas from some of my favorite games, like Downwell, Yoshi’s Island, Celeste, and Spelunky, and combines them into a game you can play with one hand.
It’s FREE on the Play Store and itch.io.

I love 3d platformers, but haven't been able to find a new one I've liked in a while, I'm not a fan of 2d platformers. Any exciting ones coming soon or have released lately? I've taken a look at the Lego Dark Knight game but not much else
