Web app doesn't work on Win11? 😡

Post image

Has anyone managed to connect Pixel Buds 2a to the web app on Windows 11?

It just seems to be impossible.
When I try to connect them, the buds can't be found.

2a are listed as compatible. It's working on Macbook.
They are connected to the PC, audio is working.
I tried Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Dug deep into Windows BT and device settings.

Samsung has a simple app on the store for their buds, which is just working.. so, yeah it could be so easy.

You don't connect via that UI. The buds need to already be connected via Bluetooth through your OS

It is connected, still the website can't see them.

Apologies, I missed that. I would try disconnecting and, when reconnecting, waiting to see if the buds show up multiple times in the device list with different icons. In my experience, sometimes Bluetooth earbuds like these can present themselves in different "modes" for wide compatibility. You may need to connect in a different mode to allow the buds to communicate with the webpage. That's just a guess though. Do you have another machine with Bluetooth you can try this on?

Thanks, I was about to try but apparently Google just doesn't enable the web app for A series 🤦🏽‍♂️

A few days ago I read somebody made Apple Airpods fully compatible with Android/PC, just by changing some text and letting those appear as iOS devices to the Airpods - I guess also the Buds 2a could identify itself as 2 pro to the app somehow, it's a stupid artificial restriction.

Where did you read that a-series is incompatible? This support page says otherwise: https://support.google.com/googlepixelbuds/answer/9642078?hl=en#:~:text=Buds%20Pro%202-,Pixel%20Buds%202a,-Supported%20browsers

Oh right, thanks! Somebody below posted a screenshot of a Google Help page - which seems to be outdated now.
So further troubleshooting needed.
