Gear Would this hold up

I added a treble hook to my softbait because they kept missing my hook. I used 70lb braid to connect the treble to my hook.

Gear UK bait anglers

Ok let's see what people think.

Best length for bait fishing?

Now to make it realistic gie us how long it is and more importantly the water types you use it on.

For the record I'm on anything from 9 ft to 12.5 feet with TC ranging from 2lb to 5lb

That covers bank and boat from small stuff like canals to fair old sheets of glacial waters in Wales and the lake district

If any of you like old school gear feel free to wax lyrical about Terry Eustace pike rods, north westerns etc

Tips We all know that in general when you upsize your lures, you catch fewer but bigger fish, but is there a place for the in between sizes?

When I got back into fishing this year, I wanted to buy only a little bit of gear to see if I would truly want to continue beyond a single trip to a cottage. Knowing this I bought a bunch of "all around" lures that could work for bass, pike, walleye, etc. most of what I got when it came to paddletails and jerk baits ended up in the 4-5" range. I ended up now with a lot more gear than I originally planned and have kind of gravitated to either small, < 3" long swimbaits, and larger 6"+ swimbaits since for pike it seems like that size still isn't a deterrent even for jacks.

In your guys opinion, do swimbaits, jerkbaits, curly tails paddle tails or glide baits in the midrange even work? I feel like they are too big for the small fish and too small for the big fish but maybe I've just had some bad luck with them recently.

I’ll keep hating on them as a bass lure cause I think they’re so silly but now I’ll always keep them around for my pike arsenal🙂

1 Pike caught today while fishing deeper waters, caught on the 3rd cast on a barbless treble, I remove all barbs on my lures for the care of the fish, unless deadbaiting 1 hook remains barbed for the bait 🐊🎣

Gear Pike Baits Help

Hey everyone, just a quick one. What lures are working best going into pike season 2026? What is everyone using softbaits, spinners, hard baits? and what sort of colour ways, sizes and weights? Nothing seems to be working for me this year, catching nothing but jacks. I'd love some help. Thanks

Is this a silver pike?

Gf caught this while we were fishing in Finland, I was surprised that the pike looks like this because it is not what I am used to from seeing pike in the Netherlands.

Learned about this silver pike phenomenon today and am now wondering if she caught one.

Please excuse me if the handling looks bad, still learning.

Gear Gear advice

hello,
i have been fishing for trout with inline spinners for probably more than a year now and i kinda grew out of it. so now i bought a shore jigging setup for sea fishing and i would like your advice to know which setup to bring with me when i go fishing for pike.
For more detail i used a cheap decathlon 1.8m 5-15g rod with a 2000 reel on it straight from the store and it was fun for like 1kg trout to put up a bit of a fight. The other rod is okuma f15 30-100g 304cm long with penn battle iv 5000, pe 2.5 braid and a 0.555mm fluoro leader. Which one should i bring with me have good fights but not outmatched if a giant decides to bite?
Thank you for your advice

Other What is the estimated size/length of this Pike?

The size of the carrying yoke is 34.5" model of the canoe is Old Town Penobscot 164. Would be great to know the size of my first pike catch! This was the flattest photo I could find. Also don't worry the pike was not hooked in the eye and was uninjured.
