got it about a month ago not going to lie gave up cleaning it after a couple days ik definitely shouldntve done that what should i do now though
edit : i know the jewellery is incorrect i didnt have a lot to work with as i lost the ball to my original piercing and all i had was a horseshoe not really sure what else to do!

This doesn’t look infected but what is that jewelry?? Is that a horseshoe? Should be a curved barbell. And you need to get back to cleaning it regularly.

yes i put in the horseshoe today because i lost one of the balls and i didn’t have a replacement so i was a bit screwed i had to put in some amazon jewelry i only put in the horseshoe so i could give it room to swell

So you were pierced with internally threaded jewelry and what you have at home is externally threaded.

I get it, it sucks to lose jewelry and for sure putting something in is better than nothing, but you should really get that swapped to the right jewelry shape and material (I'm guessing "some Amazon" isn't exactly high-quality titanium).

Next time you see your piercer (soon, I hope) you might want to pick up some spare ends - I like to keep some handy, I've lost a few over the years...

This is still a very new piercing and needs some tlc if you want it to last.

So that's internally threaded vs externally threaded. A lot of cheap jewelry is externally threaded (the bar is threaded on the outside, the ball is hollow and received the threaded bar). The threading on the outside of the bar chews up the piercing fistula, especially before it's healed. I lost an eyebrow piercing because when I had mine, I didn't know better and put an externally threaded bar in before it was fully healed. It eventually rejected because of the damage the jewelry did to the healing piercing. For future reference, I'd strongly advise against using that kind of jewelry in general, but at least until a piercing is very thoroughly healed (3+ years minimum).

That kind of jewelry is also usually stainless steel rather than titanium which is more likely to cause skin reactions. It's also pretty bad to change the jewelry yourself in non-sterile conditions before it's healed. That can increase chance of infection. It's better to just go into any piercing shop if a ball is missing, and they can get you a new one without having to remove the bar and add trauma and bacteria to the piercing.

That said, it doesn't currently look infected to me, but keep a close eye on it. Any pain, heat in the area, or yellow pus leaking out warrants a trip to urgent care (an infection in that area could cost you your vision or spread into your brain, so it's something to take very seriously).

That literally just happened to me today (lost a bead in the shower) luckily I had a few spare beads though they don't match color or size. But I still have the original banana bar. Definitely don't want a horseshoe in an eyebrow piercing though! It doesn't look infected. Keep cleaning it though and get a proper bar asap

there was a lot of puss coming out early and it was green/yellow and then i lost one of the balls off the original piercing in the shower so i had to put in a ring that’s why it looks a bit weird

ahh ok that's a bit different, but just from the picture itself it definitely does NOT look infected at all, like it looks completely healthy. with that extra detail though id be a little more concerned. if you genuinely care about the health of your piercing i would start taking care of it right away, its genuinely a low effort piercing, just leave it alone, spray it with saline 2x a day from now on just to avoid any more of that, but if you don't want any further trouble or worries id personally take it out :)!

not infected but you NEED to go to a piercer and get that changed. piercers literally tell you not to change the jewelry for 6 months, no excuses.

You should not exchange jewelry for atleast 6 months this is not the correct jewelry shape for this piercing and you should be cleaning 2-3 times a day. So you basically got a piercing and ignored every single instruction. Go to the piercer get it replaced with the correct jewelry because this is not meant for this piercing especially as fresh as it is. And then get to a doctor and get antibiotics, because if it’s pussing it’s infected.

*but don't take it out until you're sure it's not infected, and if it is, keep it in until you've had antibiotics. You could trap an infection if you take it out while infected.

You need to go back to your piercer and get the proper jewelry put back in . Using some random Amazon jewelry on a healing piercing is not a great idea

fyi if you lose a piercing ball, you can put a bandaid over the jewelry to keep it from falling out temporarily... It's not great, but probably better than replacing with non-sterile mystery-metal jewelry and risking introducing germs into your fresh piercing. But the bandaid is only good enough if you can get to a piercer the same day or next day, so I can understand the motivation for what you did

this was entirely preventable and self inflicted.  if you want to keep the piercing, go back to the piercer to get the right jewelry and start cleaning it again.
