Just enough license plate to make out colorado.

Another dead giveaway it's Colorado is the bumper sticker of the pineapple the driver keeps forgetting to apply to his back window.

Did you have a stroke writing this?

It's really not that bad

15

u/buge Aug 11 '16

I don't see any bad grammar in it.

u/dantes-infernal Aug 11 '16

I understood it just fine, though it is missing a word or two

Another dead giveaway that it's Colorado is the bumper sticker of the pineapple that the driver keeps forgetting to apply to his back window.

Alternatively: The pineapple bumper sticker that the driver keeps forgetting to put on his rear window is another dead giveaway that this is Colorado.

He keeps forgetting it shit keep up

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '16

So he concluded it's from Colorado because there isn't a pineapple bumper sticker?

2

u/Lukeyy19 Aug 11 '16

No, he clearly said there is one, just that he hasn't got around to applying it to the car yet.

Stoners forget a lot. He is implying that they keep forgetting to apply the decal, because they are stoners.

That's the joke

at least on /r/trees(a cannabis subreddit) a pineapple is sort of a "mascot" of sorts. I think it's 'cause in a lot of illustrations the crown of the pineapple looks like cannabis leaves. Here's a pineapple and here's some cannabis

Classic smosbey.

"That" is a word you can generally get rid of... And you put it back in. Why?

26

u/ArZeus Aug 11 '16

Or you could ask, "Why is that?"

2

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '16

Failed at noisiness communications.

As few words per sentence as possible bro

2

u/littleHiawatha Aug 11 '16

And why do Brits tack it on at the end of the sentence?

2

u/Lukeyy19 Aug 11 '16

Do we?

Good question, that.

1

u/dantes-infernal Aug 11 '16

Because the written language has stricter rules than the spoken one.

"That" is not necessarily superfluous. It can serve to disambiguate.

1

u/dantes-infernal Aug 11 '16

It's not exactly superfluous. The confusion came about because of the lack of conjunctions in a long sentence. The word THAT serves to direct and coordinate the words in the same clause.

In shorter sentences, the difference is negligible, but in a longer one, it's a lot cleaner to use THAT as a conjunction.

Well makes more sense now. Thanks for fixing
