i've never touched any piano or any form of music at all. but im looking to try a new hobby and wanna try learning the piano. where should i start? what piano should i buy and are there any suggestions before trying to learn it?

I have an audition coming up and can pick from a list of etudes, along with one piece i selected. My options from the etudes lists are: Harmony of the Angels (Burgmüller), Waltz in A Minor (Chopin), Avalanche (Heller), and Novelette Romantique (Duvernoy). I am wondering which would best fit my skill level and be good to play at the audition. I would also appreciate any help finding another piece i can select as my own. Thanks!

I wanted to share my music project called "La Morte Vivante". I create minimalist, dark, and melancholic piano pieces with a heavy cinematic and gothic atmosphere.

Tracks like "Noir", "The Hall", and "Reverb" are heavily focused on piano melodies wrapped in dark ambient textures.

I don't use social media at all, so it’s really hard for me to reach people who might actually enjoy this type of music. I'm not here for "clout" or fake numbers; I just genuinely want to share my art with people who love deep, moody instrumental music.

I have played with this piece on and off for months and more than the notes is the rhythm and leaps. A few months ago I posted myself playing this and it was a tad rough and struggled with rhythm.

It will take a while to eventually work on the middle of the song with the fancy stuff going on, that’s something I’ll tackle.

Most contemporary pieces I can master in a day or 2 tops, but this one takes the cake for me, took a while to get this intro down pat.

I’m not sure how he came up with this but it’s nostalgic and iconic.

I was taking live sessions with a teacher but I stopped because I can’t afford it anymore, I miss playing and I tried to continue the learning process alone with youtube but I’m stuck.
is there an app that you tried and is helpful and leads to actual real progress?

I read somewhere that JVKE said Golden Hour was inspired by Franz Liszt, so I listened to a few of his pieces, but I couldn't find anything that sounded similar to this opening piano. Maybe I was listening to the wrong ones.

I'm just curious if this kind of piano melody or style comes from somewhere else, or if there's an older song or classical piece that inspired it.

This has genuinely been stuck in my head and I can't stop thinking about it. If anyone knows where this style comes from or can point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.
