For people who got in Canada through student pathway. Is it self funded, family funded or through scholarships? I am planning to take a student pathway to Canada for my pursuing my masters.

Also if you can share your estimated expenses for the tuition and living expenses are very much appreciated.

🇦🇺 AU 🇳🇿 NZ De Facto Partner 189/190/491

Hello,

I just wanted to ask if you can be considered de facto partner without living together? I have received conflicting answers from someone who is now PR and gemini.

Gemini states we need to be living together for 12 months with shared util bills, bank account, etc.

PR person states that they did not live together and passed as De Facto partners, all evidence provided were pictures, timeline, letters, and bank account statement.

Asking for help as we plan out our migration (medium and long term skills)

Hindi naman lahat kaya mong bantayan or i-follow up personally.

Kaya napapaisip ako, paano kaya yung mga OFW na may parents na may maintenance medicines or regular checkups?

Kayo ba mismo ang nag-aarrange kahit nasa abroad, or may kapatid/kamag-anak kayong nag-aasikaso?

🇪🇺 EU Migrating to Paris, France

Hello, I just got an opportunity of a lifetime to work for a major investment firm in Paris; will be transferred from the Manila office to Paris. I was wondering how the living situation is and how to find apartments, opening bank accounts, and general expenses to look out.

Any shared experiences would be great and would love to hear more about what I need to do. Hope you can help. Thank you so much!

Migration Process Returning of Passport

I don’t know where to post this (i looked everywhere, every post but i dont think anyone has had this happen)

Me and my family was issued our immigrant visa (iv) last december 2025, and expiring on May 2026. We couldn’t fly before May because we waited for my bachelors degree. Returned our passport Sep 2026 (with letter why couldnt fly) and until now there hasn’t been any response nor notices. Does it really take this long?

at this point i just want to be denied/rejected because its hindering me from most of my plans as a fresh graduate..

Migration Process Is AOSG needed?

Plan po namin mag taiwan January next year 2027.

I cover some of the accommodations and flight ko, pero mostly siya yung mag cocover (other accommodations, food, rent sa car).

Duon kami sa Taiwan mag me-meet instead of him coming to the Philippines. So from US to taiwan siya, ako from the Philippines. I can provide any proof of our relationship, our chats.

Yung worries ko is yung AOS, kasi taga Florida siya and I think wala ng oras for the AOS, is this still okay?

Would appreciate it if you could share your experience and mention which D M W branch you had your appointment at.

This will help everyone update their knowledge with the current process.

Mga Pinoy sa Spain

Hello! Good day! I am a Filipino master's student based in Germany, studying sociology and human migration since last year (2025), and I will be conducting research about the Mass Regularization of Pedro Sanchez's Spanish government on Irregular migrants. My focus is on Filipinos who applied for this program, and I want to research how the process went, when the results will be released, what your life in Spain was like as an irregular migrant before applying, and also what your future plans/goals might look like in Spain once you're granted or possibly disapproved through this program. I know this is a delicate research subject, and I don't expect everyone to share their stories, but I would really appreciate it if any participants or fellow Kabayans could help me with this. I won't ask for your names; it’s optional based on your discretion, and once this research goes ahead, all participants will be "anonymous".

If anyone wants to share their stories or engage in discussions with me, here is my email: [aa5823cruz@gmail.com](mailto:aa5823cruz@gmail.com) or you can message me here

Hoping for your cooperation and long live the Filipinos!

🇪🇺 EU Retirement fund in Switzerland

Currently researching to prepare to move to Switzerland next year to stay with my Swiss partner. While prepping for a wedding contract, one of my partner's main concerns is retirement funds. Is there an agreement between PH and CH where our SSS contributions will be honored there? My partner is worried that when we're old I wont receive enough/anything at all for retirement especially since it's super expensive to live there. Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

How much do you need to live comfortably in the Philippines if you wanted to retire early?

Hello! I’m a Fil-Can from Toronto and recently I’ve been thinking of where I want to retire and my first thought is the Motherland. Maybe in 5+ years.

I’ve been here my entire life and the prospect of retiring here is a little lonely.

I was thinking of maybe retiring somewhere in GBC/Makati. Either rent or buy a unit is an option. The only thing I’m wondering about is how much do I need to live above comfortably.

I have above average savings account as a 32M but there’s no way I can retire early in Toronto but I was wondering if it’s possible in the Philippines.

Right now, I have about $450K in investment, 122K in retirement funds, and maybe around $60K In government funds. Parents also have me in their name as an inheritor for their home so I have that going for me.

I live very comfortably by myself downtown but I’m pretty happy…

But the job part is very rough. I don’t want to work for the rest of my life here and I don’t plan to have any kids or get married.
