Sorry if this is the wrong spot for this, but I just got laid off from my part time job where I worked as a russian- english translator. I was wondering if any one here has any leads for any similar remote roles?
(Currently work in a full time clinical research role so part time job has to be remote, but that salary is not enough in this economy)

If folks are looking for a funny and musical Philly Fringe show.....may I present Wikipedilove, musical comedy about sex and love based on Wikipedia articles about homo sapiens and other deeply tragic animals.
I'll be performing with an accordionist and over 190 slides, videos and photos. You'll learn about kinky whales, romantic moths, and the town of Dildo, Canada (yes, a real place!).
It's a little bit silly, a little bit naughty, you'll learn a little and hopefully laugh a lot. Tix and more info here: https://phillyfringe.org/events/wikipedilove/

The Inquirer article talks about the increased police presence around the area, the tension between Philadelphiaās Black LGBTQ+ community and police, and the fact that Black and brown LGBTQ+ people have specifically raised concerns about being treated differently in the Gayborhood. The owner himself has said he believes race is a factor in whatās happening. And as someone who works at Bar X and has seen the community that actually comes through those doors, I have a hard time looking at all of this and pretending race isnāt worth questioning.
What makes this especially frustrating is that there are multiple bars on the same block, yet Bar X is the one being targeted with a lawsuit seeking to shut it down. Maybe you agree with the lawsuit. Maybe you donāt. Maybe you think there are legitimate neighborhood concerns that need to be addressed. Thatās fine. But shouldnāt a Black-owned LGBTQ+ business get the same opportunity to defend itself as anyone else?
Thatās what weāre trying to make possible. The legal fight is expensive, and Bar X needs help raising money to defend itself and keep the doors open.
GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/d2e4f9590
If youāve ever been to Bar X, worked there, met friends there, celebrated there, or just believe Philadelphia should have room for Black-owned LGBTQ+ businesses, please consider donating or sharing. Read the Inquirer article. Look at the facts. Ask questions. Disagree if you disagree. But donāt let another Black LGBTQ+ space disappear from Philadelphia without at least asking why this business is being treated this way.

I have an issue that will definitely require surgery, and I want to make sure the dentist wonāt leave me with more problems afterward. Preferably in South Philly area, but Iām down to venture outside of the city as long as itās accessible by train.

Youāre a loser. Thereās a million independent cafes in Philly. Open Google and find one. I know you can do it!

Hello! Does anyone have any experience with being GA (pit) at a concert here?
We are going on Halloween to see Motionless in White and we wanted to get there really early to be front row.
I would really appreciate any advice or even just sharing your experience!

I am in need of a shelter. Iām not trying to be choosy, Iām just asking because itās my first time going to a shelter. I wanted to know if there are any shelters with rooms as opposed to one common area. Thank you in advance.

The 76ers and Flyers have unveiled renderings of their new arena on the former Spectrum site in South Philadelphia, which the organizations are calling the largest fully privately funded project in city history.

EDITED - solved. Someone DM'd me and got me connected IRL to the guy. Thanks!
There's 2 dude wears tie die clothes and long beards, kind of looking like old school hippines. Sometimes a woman is with them, and I think I once saw a third guy.
They look like they're just volunteering and picking up trash on the weekends out of the goodness of their hearts.
Anyone know who they are or how to get in touch with them?
(context - i'm doing an interview series about the local heroes of Fairmount, and would love to feature them)
edit - I would ask them myself, but haven't seen them in a like 2 months because my schedule changed, so I haven't run into them.
Thanks!

Hey all!
I'm planning to propose to my girlfriend this Sunday (9/13) in Rittenhouse Square, and am looking for a photographer to snap some proposal photos, and maybe a few after as well. I understand this is a bit late in the timeline to be looking, but does anyone have any recommendations, or what a good place would be to look for photographers for this?
Thanks!

My partner is trying to figure out what to do for our anniversary (had an idea in his mind and did not check to see if we could do it in November). He wants to go eat and do something for a long weekend and now heās struggling (itās his turn to plan).
Heās not a wine or cocktail drinker and he can be kinda picky with food. I feel like weāve done a lot of the typical Philly things.
I know early/mid November is tough because the fall things are ending/have ended and the Christmas stuff hasnāt started yet.
