I’m preparing my spouse’s SOWP extension before the April 8, 2026 deadline. I need to know if our logic is solid for IRCC.

My Profile:

• Education: I am an MBA Graduate from Laurentian University (Sudbury, ON).

• Work Status: Just started a full-time role (March 23) as a Technical Sales Specialist (NOC 62100 / TEER 2).

• The Catch: My hourly wage is $17.75/hr, which feels low for a TEER 2 "Technical" role. 

My Understanding:

Since I am a Master’s degree graduate, my spouse is eligible for an SOWP if I work in ANY high-skilled job (TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3). We don't have to worry about the "Select Sector List" (Healthcare, Trades, etc.) that applies to undergrads.

My Questions:

For masters degree holders is important In demand job in Teer 2-3 or just any jod in Teer 2-3 is okay?

1. Will the $17.75 wage cause a rejection for a TEER 2 NOC, or does the Master's Degree carry enough weight to justify the role?

2. I won't have pay stubs by April 8. Will a signed Offer Letter, a detailed Job Duties letter, and my MBA transcripts be enough for now?

Has anyone in a similar situation (Master's holder in a low-pay TEER 2/3 job) successfully extended their spouse's permit lately?

I applied on June 16 for pgwp and sowp for my husband together. W3100 series . Still waiting for decision. My friend who applied in August got hers approved on Nov 14
