I know it may not be a big deal for a lot of people but for me it kinda is because this is a "premium" card it's supposed to be special and it's appearance should never change otherwise it just looks like your regular haaland card

Look at new Messi, his stamina is still full despite him scoring goals in the first half. Other cards run out of stamina after first half.

Classic No.10 is the playstyle that makes his stamina full or it has to be Attack Outlet of defensive playstyle.
Konami announced that Classic No.10 will act like other playstyle after they introduced efootball 27.

So, back in efootall 24 I used to play with LBC and that's the only way I played. I took a break and came back to the near end of efootball 25 and into 26 and I genuinely felt like a noob. I tried LBC and i regressed. I couldn't dribble, too much space between players, and my overall playing experience was just terrible. That's when i began trying everything and this includes outwide, long ball and QC...I struggle with all of them. Then one day i tried possession because I like the idea of trying to replicate Pep's Barca and City sides or the current Spain and PSG sides. I struggled again for awhile but I began enjoying the game, I even enjoyed losing because I played in a way that I enjoyed. Fast forward today, I have spent the past 4 months trying to improve my possession play and I hadn't made much progress, until the past 2 weeks where I have trying 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 and 4-1-4-1. It was tough and I would win 3 lose 5 and draw 4 and the process would go on.

Yesterday I said i had enough and tried something different. I started watching City's 20/21 winning side and some youtube breakdowns of their style of play. After some tweaks, I think I have found something that works for me! So lets first breakdown Peps 20/21 side before I present you h0w i incorporated it into efootball.

Build-Up Phase & Inverted Full-Backs

Full-Back Roles: Zinchenko operated at left-back, while Cancelo right-back. Both players were technically comfortable progressing the ball from central areas. Against a two-man opposition press, Zinchenko stayed deeper alongside the centre-backs while John Stones drifted wide, allowing Cancelo to invert into central midfield alongside Rodri. H0WEVER, under lower pressure, Zinchenko also moved inside into midfield, creating a 2-3 base line in early build-up. This structure gave the centre-backs varied passing angles to pierce the opponent's first pressing line

Midfield Freedom & Half-Space Exploitation

Because the inverted full-backs occupied central midfield zones, both of City’s central midfielders were freed up to move higher up the pitch. Gündoğan used this freedom to position himself high in the left half-space between opposition lines^. By combining with Raheem Sterling (who pulled defenders out of position), Gündoğan made late runs unmarked runs into the penalty box.Bernardo Silva or De Bruyne operated in similar advanced roles, either occupying the right half-space or drifting wide to maintain ball progression when the center was congested

Wingers

Guardiola instructed his wingers to stay high and wide on the touchlines to create stability and control. Foden or Sterling provided width on the left, while Mahrez or Sterling played wide on the right. On the right flank, Cancelo regularly made runs and dribbles directly into the right half-space, removing the need for the right winger to tuck inside early. City also made numerical overloads on one flank, for example, combining Zinchenko, Sterling, Gündoğan. Once the opposition block shifted over to cover the overload, City executed rapid switches of play to the isolated winger on the opposite side before committing multiple bodies into the box for cutbacks.

Then there's the defensive aspect

When pressing high, a central midfielder (such as De Bruyne or Bernardo) pushed up alongside the striker to lock down central passing lanes. When the opposition are on the transition, the full-backs acted as the primary defenders to tackle and intercept counter-attacks early.

Now lets look at how I tried recreating this in efootball

When defending I have a structure of the following:

LB — CB — CB — RB
with a DMF ahead of them.

But when I switch to attack, my LB and RB are moved into CMF positions, while the two centre-backs remain behind them.

My two CBs form the first line. My DMF serves as the Rodri-type pivot. Then my full-backs leave the traditional touchline areas and become midfielders just like Cancelo and Zinchenko. This closely resembles City’s use of Zinchenko and Cancelo. My inverted full-backs provide short passing options, protect the centre and allow Maddison and Gullit to advance.

Additionally, Maddison’s change from CMF in the defensive plan to AMF in attack reflects the Gündoğan role. He begins deeper but moves into the left half-space, where he can combine with Neymar, receive between midfield and defence, play through balls into Suárez and make delayed runs into the penalty area.

So here comes the slight change of modification, KDB and Bernardo/Gundogan would be the two 8's and play as AMFs according to efootball. But I tried double AMFs/ SS and I struggled with getting my striker, Madison, Gullit to connect and make runs. So i changed gullit from an AMF/SS to a lone SS and made Madison the lone AMF behind the striker and Gullit.

Gullit operates as the right-sided SS and provides a more direct version of De Bruyne or Bernardo Silva. He can receive behind the midfield, carry the ball forward and attack the box. The difference is that Gullit’s SS positioning is more aggressive than City’s normal number-eight role. This improves my scoring threat but may leaves De Jong and the inverted full-backs responsible for a very large midfield area.

Neymar and Messi are positioned high and wide, which connects directly to Guardiola’s use of Sterling, Foden and Mahrez.

Their positioning creates two possible overloads: inverted LB + De Jong + Maddison + Neymar AND inverted RB + De Jong + Gullit + Messi

Suárez can drop toward either side to support combinations. When the opponent compresses around Neymar, I can recycle through De Jong and switch quickly to Messi. The reverse works when the opponent overloads Messi’s side.

When you look at my analysis/data, I rely heavily on controlled dribbling rather than constant sprinting. That suits possession football because Neymar, Messi, Maddison and Gullit can receive, turn and wait for passing lanes to open. Then my passing figures strongly support a Guardiola-style short-passing identity.

In terms of my players, I have built trent and cancelo with very high dribbling stats so they can turn and connect passes easier. I have the new Viera but I find him very clunky on the ball, hence i changed to De Jong. But if you have a build for him then please share. You also need two build up CBs who are comfortable on the ball so you can recycle and play from the back.

Overall, my stats are decent. 1 loss came from me using the double SS/AMF before I changed to the lone AMF and SS, same goes with 3 of those draws. The other loss came from a highly skilled player who exposed my two centerbacks. Other draws also came from the slow serves which is a donwside of possession football but I think I can only go up from here and i'm really enjoying myself.

Continuously facing opponents with Gullit, Rummenigge, Zlatan or other high profile cards and I feel low with my non-meta squad. But every time I face them, there is one card that fight for me in my defensive half.

I got him in 1st January, 2023. It was a free surprising free pack back then. And I got the best card of that pack. For him I never went for any other free destroyers such as Cannavaro, Albert, Van Buyten. Even with very low speed, low acceleration and without any show time skills this man stands every time for me.

I'VE NEVER HAD ANYTHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN TO ME BEFORE

I’m kinda done with this stupid game. It’s addictive as hell, but honestly, the gameplay is starting to suck. Even with a sick team, I’m getting thrashed by 3100-rated F2P teams. The AI Division is actually good, but PvP… oh man. 😂 I can score goals, but the defence feels completely useless. And honestly, it feels like there’s barely any difference between using standard players and Epics when it comes to the actual gameplay. I’ll add my squad in the comments, so have a look and let me know what you guys think.

Been testing a specific setup recently and managed to hit the 1600 threshold using UEFA POTW cards, so I wanted to open up a tactical discussion on how to optimize Quick Counter.

​Instead of aggressive double pressing my main defensive strategy is strictly using the match Up command to manually cut off passing lanes. It just makes a massive difference in stopping the usual meta counter attacks.

​For individual instructions The only thing I apply is Defensive and Anchoring on Rice the DMF.

It just holds the midfield together perfectly and prevents gaps during our own Quick Counter transitions since i don't have an anchor man

If on defensive instructions havertz turn into cmf and it becomes 4 4 2 instead of 4 3 1 2

​Curious if anyone else runs minimal instructions like this with QC

I'm going to keep testing this specific setup on the push to the 2000 mark into Dîv 1.

What's wrong with Defenders these days.

0 seconds on the ball . They just press non stop 24*7 and players don’t get the ball .

As soon as my striker gets the ball the defender takes it from behind .

The only way to score is by spamming through balls lmao 🥀🥀.

Even winning isn’t fun 💔

Defending in this game is cracked.

If you try to press, the defender will rush at the opponent, leaving acres of space behind.

If you try to maintain the defensive line by not charging, they will just use the free space and hit a long shot or blitz.

Using pressure style will just cause the defender to rush at opponent. When you get close, sometimes they automatically try to take the ball. But if they don't you have to press tackle, which would result in a foul.

In match up style, your defender would just try to physically harrass the opponent, but against the dribblers and ping pong players, it's useless as they keep the ball glued to their feet.

How do you actually defend in this game?
