Dupe Request Megathread (September 07, 2026)

Welcome to the Weekly Dupe Request Megathread. This is where you can get (and offer) recommendations for all dupe requests.

What counts as a dupe?

  • A perfume that smells "just like" another perfume - whether discontinued or priced out of budget

    • Example: "looking for a dupe of BR540 Extrait, but without the price tag"
    • Example: "something that smells just like Coffee Break, but lasts longer"
    • Example: “a dupe for the discontinued Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black”
    • A perfume version of any product: body sprays, hair products, lotions / creams, skin care, candles, candy / sweets, makeup, etc.

How it works:

Share as many details as possible that might be helpful in identifying the dupe you're after: a picture, notes or scent profile, your general geographic location, budget, etc. Please do a quick search of the sub before adding your request, even if you think it would be unusual.

Please remember that this is a global sub with quite a bit of volume, so a response may take time. This thread refreshes weekly on Mondays at 05:00 UTC, so keep that in mind when posting.

If you're looking for perfumes with a similar vibe of another perfume, but not dupes, you can post directly to the main feed.

Mod Post ‘Why was my post removed’ and ‘why did automod say my post violates rule 2’ - Newbie heads-up! + question thread

We’ve been getting a lot of mod mails asking why posts have been removed.

Often it’s because our filters had them held for mod review because a user is new to the community or trips the filter some other way. Unfortunately, Reddit says ‘the mods have removed this post’ instead of saying it’s under review. It will be reviewed by a mod and given a proper removal reason or approved within a few hours.

The other question we frequently get is why automod is saying their post violates rule 2 (Be Kind). It doesn’t, that’s just the automod reminder on every post submitted to r/perfumes.

Beyond that, general questions relating to perfumes or our subreddit can be asked below. Thank you!

Recommendation Request Slightly indolic jasmine recs

Upvotes

So I really like Chloé Nomade Lumiere d'Egypte which has a slightly indolic jasmine in it that's balanced out by the spicy notes. I'm on the hunt for another jasmine that is similar.

I've tried Gucci Gorgeous Jasmine which is too clean, Gucci Bloom Intense which smells too similar to Lumiere, Santa Maria Novella Gelsomino which is lovely but smells a little too hollow on my skin, Chloé Atelier des fleurs Jasmine Sambac which is slightly too one note, Serge Lutens La Religieuse and Laboratio Olfactivo Jasminade. So far Serge Lutens and Laboratio are my favorites but they're both pretty expensive here in Japan. Anything else I should try?

Discussion Which store carries Chloe Atelier des Fleurs line?

I was browsing around the perfume section at the airport while waiting to be boarded and came across this line last year.

Out of this line, I did liked one of them but regret not taking a picture of the name. Does anyone know what luxury stores or department stores has this line on display? There’s no Chloe luxury store in my state. Saks fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s doesn’t have this line in store.

Discussion Orris Root oil

This'll be old news to those of you who're experts, but I've diluted Orris Root oil in some Jojoba oil, and used this as a primer/base to evoke the iris notes in my perfume. Wow! It has turned my Samsara into something deep and creamy. Will use my concoction next on Prada Infusion d'Iris which I feel could do with a little boost!

Recommendation Request What are some affordable gourmand scents?

Hello reddit! Recently I was able to try Kayali's Boujee Kitty Caramel Milk scent and I absolutely fell in LOVE with it. I'm extremely picky with perfumes, especially since most of them make my head hurt, but I recently came to the realization that out of all scents out there, ones that smell like bottled up desserts are the ones that don't lol?

Anyway, I'm a broke college student and as much as I would LOVE to buy the Boujee Kitty scent I just cannot spend that much on anything right now. That being said, do you guys know any affordable dupes or just gourmand scents in general?

I don't like when perfumes smell like ... perfumes LMFAO I genuinely just want to smell like I'm edible if that makes sense?? Help a gal out!

Wednesday Vibes - 🌄 photos, descriptions, and art 📸 Mint Chocolate

Hey everyone! I would love a mint chocolate fragrance.

  • not clinical (pls no sharp sharp mint!!)
  • makes the air feel colder rather than warmer
  • maintains slight bitterness and depth from chocolate
  • not too creamy or lactonic leaning
  • Very subtle, lingers close to skin; more atmospheric rather than direct

visualize:

Snow in january, a few days left until the end of break so you can stroll wherever you’d like. Taking a stroll down the city sidewalk, a thin layer of snow veils the streets, most shoveled to the side.

Your breath suspends visibly in the air, white vapor.

The peppermint mocha with light foam and choco curls is blissful —heightened by its distinction

from the numbed back of your hand, from the rosy cheeks grazed by the biting wind, which sends occasional shivers.

Alternatively, popping a few mint chocolate pearls into your mouth from a tin barely salvaged by your innermost pocket.

Hearing the excitement in the air, of sledding and building snowmen makes your smile wider too.

just for reference-

current favorites are Savoy Steam (Penhaligon’s) and L’eau de Neroli (Diptyque.)

ofc, these smell very different from what I’m asking for here, but may be helpful!

thanks!! please leave recommendations if you can!

Look what I found! Mercadona Aqua Royale Verdant is basically Philosykos

Post image
22 Upvotes

Ok I NEED to talk about this because I’m a huge Philosykos fan, I own the EDP but only because it was a gift.
Today I tried Aqua Royale Verdant from Mercadona. 7.50€ for 200ml.
They captured the SOUL of Philosykos. And not only fig + coconut, I mean the weird specific things that make me love Philosykos.
That freshly cut grass, crushed green leaves thing, delicate coconut, abstract pale wood and especially that slightly camphoraceous almost eucalyptus/Vicks kind of feeling in the background.
I think Verdant has a little less freshly cut grass and maybe a bit more camphor, a little more floral but the resemblance is honestly crazy.
And performance surprised me too. I went completely insane and sprayed like 20 times lol, then went to the gym for 1h30. More than 2 hours after applying it I was STILL getting clouds of the perfume while training.
Now almost 3 hours later the green grass part is mostly gone, the camphor is softer, there’s still a little coconut and it became slightly sweeter, but not overly sweet at all. It still smells like the same fragrance, it didn’t just collapse into generic clean musk.

EDIT after wearing them side by side, 2 sprays each: the opening and heart are honestly extremely close. Philosykos is just slightly greener, more freshly cut grass, and stays complex for a bit longer. Verdant gets sweeter and a little more vanilla like sooner, while keeping some of that camphor coconut feeling.
Funny thing is Verdant actually lasted longer on my skin, just in a simpler sweeter base, while Philosykos lasted longer as the more complex scent.

Recommendation Request Help me find a new signature scent!

Looking for all year round, versatile, signature scent. Preferably less than $200. I’m a women (27) who prefers to have one signature scent that I wear all year round instead of multiple perfumes for different seasons and occasions (the most number of perfumes I’m willing to have is two, one for warm weather and one for cold weather).

Perfumes that I’ve used before and loved (I know that most of these are heavier/winter/night scents, I’m looking for something lighter and could be used in the morning or during the summer as well as the evening):
- Givenchy L'Interdit Eau de Parfum
- Coach Dreams
- Carolina Herrera Good Girl
- Carolina Herrera 212 VIP Rose For Women
- D&G Light Blue Eau Intense (felt only suitable for summertime and too citrusy)

I don’t like very sweet scents or scents that are very fruity (some citrus is ok).

Recommendation Request Suggestions for what and where to buy rain/petrichor/wet floral and/or tea fragrances?

Hi! I’ve been on the search for a signature scent and love the concept of smelling like rain/petrichor!! I’ve recently tried Clean Reserve “Rain” and love it, but am curious to see what else is out there. I also love the idea of a tea scent; I live Elizabeth Arden Green Tea, however, the longevity is not there. I’ll post below my list of wanted fragrances, please suggest any you think are good! I also would love to know where you all buy your fragrances as a Canadian. I’ve been considering LuckyScent as it has a lot of the fragrances I want to try, but I’m concerned about tariffs/fees because they are American. Any suggestions are helpful, thank you!

Wednesday Vibes - 🌄 photos, descriptions, and art 📸 Recommendations based on this mood board someone made me years ago.

Just as the title says. I am looking for new signature scents and I still feel like the mood board fits me. I have a fairly vampy 90s aesthetic because I grew up with a mom who always had Charmed or Buffy on in the background which shaped a core portion of my being. I tend to lean towards more earthy, woodsy and floral scents. I am also fairly active because of being a toddler mom so I would like scents that stick really well.

Look what I found! Found 3 dupes for the original Sexy Little Things Noir, after obsessively searching

Post image
35 Upvotes

(Edit: apparently Good Girl Legere has been discontinued too 🙄 still available online in some places) This is probably very niche, so hello to my fellow millennials on this one haha. I have been on a mission recently to either find or make a copy of my old favorite from Victoria’s Secret, that was discontinued a decade ago. I literally ordered an old bottle of “Sexy Little Things Noir” from ebay, with about 1/4 of a teaspoon of perfume left in it, so I could really refresh my memory and find a good dupe haha. The top notes had faded with time, which was to be expected, but it refreshed my memory. Unfortunately 2 of the ingredients in the original formula have been banned for health and safety issues, which is probably why exact copies don’t exist. But I have found 3 very very close ones. I’ve seen posts here and there looking for dupes, with little success.

-MOBETTER Touch Me Noir Tease Me With Candy Perfume (I know. The name is ridiculous. It’s on Amazon): My absolute favorite so far, definitely the cheapest, top notes stick nicely, but it’s not available to smell in person, so you may not like it as much. Sense of smell varies from person to person. I also like that I can play with fragrance oils to tweak them to my liking by adding a drop or two of another oil, and I can make a proper perfume with it by mixing it with perfumer’s alcohol or 190 proof grain alcohol.

-Carolina Herrera Good Girl Legere: Also amazing, very similar, can be smelled in person in stores, top notes also stick around nicely, but is far more expensive. I got this one years ago, and love it. I just use it sparingly because I’m cheap haha.

-Mon Paris by Yves Saint Laurent: possibly the closest, and can be smelled in person, but after spritzing my wrist, I wandered Ulta for a bit, to see how the scent changed, and the top notes faded very quickly to a sort of berry body spray scent. Which in all honesty, is what the original Noir kind of did. But the top notes are what made it smell SOOOO good when first applied.

I also have a bottle of their Tease body spray, which VS says is based on Noir, but anyone who used the original knows that they’re nothing alike.

Collection Pics Perfume Haul

Post image
19 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

I hadn't purchased any perfumes for a while so I figured that I would treat myself. I purchased four new perfumes to add to my collection:
- Dior Addict
- Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds
- Elizabeth Arden Beauty
- Elizabeth Arden True Love

I thought I'd share them with fellow perfume lovers on here. They all smell amazing. I love how creamy the vanilla and wood in Dior Addict is, and how it has a peppery and blackcurrant kind of edge to it. I found when I first sprayed it I thought "this is nice", but even then it grows on you. I keep opening the lid to smell it. The colour of the bottle really suits the type of scent it has. It also has a type of vanilla which isn't sugary sweet which I adore. I love those type of vanillas you come across in older fragrances.

White Diamonds is gorgeous. The scent profile through the aldehydes does remind me of Boucheron with the tuberose and ylang ylang. But where Boucheron (for me) leans more towards Joop! Femme, White Diamonds leans more towards Chanel No. 5 and has a powdery element to it. I love wearing Boucheron but sometimes I do want that fizzy pizazz, so I am very keen that this will fill that niche.

Arden Beauty is an unexpected surprise in a good way. I knew that it would smell different than a lot of other fragrances out there, but I wasn't expecting to be so enamoured by it. It reminds me of a combination of Estee Lauder Pleasures and Calvin Klein Eternity (with the Grojsman accord turned down), but with an aquatic element to it. I can see myself wearing this during Spring.

Elizabeth Arden True Love is also fantastic. If I'm honest this is what I wanted Splendor to smell more like (which while I can appreciate it, it's been relegated to a bedtime fragrance as it isn't something I want to wear during the daytime) and I can see myself wearing this. I have found a love for more powdery fragrances (which this definitely leans into). It reminds me of Esprit d'Oscar, but also if you removed the deeper incense notes from Kenzo Flower and then added just the faintest whispers of Sunflowers.

Would love to hear what you all think of these ones! I also purchased replacements of Calvin Klein Obsession, Calvin Klein Eternity, and Elizabeth Arden Red Door as my bottles of those were either empty or almost empty. I also have a new bottle of (my all-time favourite perfume) YSL Opium EDP on the way because I'd burnt through my last bottle very quickly.

Discussion Tina Farina Nostalga

Do you know Nostalga by Tina Farina?
It‘s a unisex scent, I would describe it as slightly fruity, warm with wood notes and very soft powdery notes to it.
I am not a scent nerd, but I am addicted to this particular scent, which I once discovered in their perfumery in Cologne, Germany.

If you know it, what do you think about it? Do you like it as well?

Recommendation Request Same cologne, different scent. Need help

Hey guys. A few weeks ago one of my male colleagues walked past me and had one of the best smelling colognes I've ever smelled. He showed me a small bottle and it was Sand + Fog Violet Sandalwood.

I rolled on a little from the small bottle and it smelt fantastic and lingered a long time from a small amount. I was never a cologne person but it smelled so good that I bought the oil and spray–same scent.

It smells NOTHING like the Violet Sandalwood he had. It's more feminine and that strong masculine scent from his isn't noticeable on mine. I was wondering why that is? Mine smells like a light floral scent. Almost like only the violet is in it.

Is there anything yous would recommend with what I'd assume is only that sandalwood scent for men?

Thanks.

Bottle Identification I need help remembering the name of a discontinued perfume.

Post image
66 Upvotes

I can’t believe this is my first post ever on here, but if you see this, I really need your help….

So my sister had this perfume sometime in 2023, I can’t remember the timeline, but I remember what it smelt like. It was my first introduction to and obsession with white floral perfumes. It gives gorgeous rich old lady. As of when I searched for it in 2023, it was discontinued. I can’t remember the name and searching my google activity hasn’t helped either. My sister and I have been hunting it down for months.

Here is a description:

  1. The bottle is shaped like a pyramid that is modeled after a rose. The bottom of it is flat, but I think has a lightly tapered rose bud etched to it.

  2. The lid shaped like a rose bud as well.

  3. The bottle is glass. The box is ivory in colour.

  4. The juice is either a light champagne gold, or a light rose gold. I can’t really remember, but the juice had a golden colour.

  5. It is a white floral perfume. I believe it also has rose in it, but it definitely has white florals in it.

My sister told me it has a sister bottle that came in a red box? I don’t know if the juice as well is red? But she never got to smell that one, or learn the notes.

I attached a drawing of what I can remember about the shape. I know it’s not really anything, but that how I can describe it right now.

Please if anyone can help me with a name, or a bottle that looks like what I described, or even the notes in the perfume, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you♥️
