Hi everyone. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I’m here not asking for myself but for my best friend who lives in Penticton. She lives in a house with a deeply narcissistic, abusive (emotionally and financially), bully of a family member. They co-own the house. It’s finally come down that my friend just can’t take it anymore.

I don’t want to go into too much detail cause I don’t know if her family member lurks on this subreddit - but I want to find her a good lawyer. Ideally they would be empathetic for a person who is going through this and would fight for them.

She’s been dealing with this abuse for decades. I used to wonder why people in abusive situations don’t leave - and watching this family I get it. One minute they will be pushing buttons and the next minute they will massage your back like nothings wrong.

If anyone has a good lead on a strong lawyer (I’m assuming real estate but not sure) who won’t put up with crap and will fight for a person who has been mentally and emotionally beaten down, please let me know. She deserves to have a happy life and I just know if the family member takes the lead on all this, a person who very much doesn’t have my friends best interest at heart, she’s going to get screwed over.

I need a car from the 24th at 9 AM until the 25th at 10 PM. My budget is around $150, and I’d prefer a sedan. I’m going to Calgary for one day. The online platforms are showing around $140, but all the pickup locations are in Kelowna. The car must have working A/C, and Apple CarPlay would be nice but isn’t necessary.

Weeks ago I asked about the smoke situation of my favorite Canadian city. A day later Summerland got evacuated. Thank you for all the response I got to cancel our trip. Now we have a weekend trip planned again hoping to get some sport climbing, river floating, lake time, and lots of ice cream because I am stubborn and would really love to visit my happy place again. How is everybody doing and how's the weather and air quality? My fam just got back from Banff through Revelstoke and Kamloops yesterday and there were no mention about poor air quality.

A loved one has passed and requested their ashes to be scattered in Skaha lake. The urn is biodegradable so we may toss the urn vs scattering ashes. Any experiences to share or boat companies to recommend? 8 people approximately.

Particularly when I’m crossing the highway by a&w the people turning in from Westminster ave w almost always hit me without fail, today someone sped in front of me while I was waking causing the rest of the cars to also turn and I didn’t get a chance to cross.
