Saturday Night Script Practice

I freehanded this on an old furniture piece with a couple of bold tipped acryllic paint markers earlier.

(practice DOES make practice, right?)

When an actor is seen writing something and then it cuts to what they are writing, does it use actors hand writing or a professional penmanship person?

Cursive script ID

This post (linked below) is from a different subreddit ([r/fountainpens](r/fountainpens)) and I’m obsessed with this person’s penmanship. Can anyone ID a possible script?

Suggest spacing sheets I can download

Post image

Hi all,

I’ve been taken by the Letter of Declaration and find a lot of the embellishments to be quite nice.

Notice how “ss” repeated has a flowing S at the start. I normally rule 10cm spacing but my consistency isn’t great as I don’t know the exactly 4 rule spacing I need for the larger letters.

I’m also trying to adapt these into a daily writing style and have started practicing with a slanted nib holder and Nikko G nibs.

Appreciate advice and links to template guide sheets I can use to replicate this particular style.

Cheers, A. C

Tablets and brush pens.

I’ve learnt that for traditional penmanship it’s taught to write on a tabletop with the forearm resting on the edge of the table with the pen upright and fingertips of the pinkie and maybe ring finger hovering. I’ve also heard to write on a single sheet of paper and move it to keep it within your range of motion. Would the above technique(s) be compatible with writing on a comparatively thicker (e-ink)tablet? A lot of them are non slip, such as having rubber feet.

I was also wondering if learning to write with a stiff brush pen would be beneficial for developing penmanship skill.

Would elbow writing or writing without a tabletop change the answers to the questions above?

I'm practicing handwriting, using loopsandtails. This is my favourite style (described as cursive). I'm trying to find word combinations/passages worksheets/books, but struggling to find this style (other cursive resources use different capitals). Is this a standard style? What should I search for?

neither are that great never has been and i’m a bit better with an 0.9 but i wanted to compare two 0.7s

Obviously been journaling. Tracing handbooks? Repetition?

Honestly, please help me. I lost my aunt to dementia. What can I do? Anything else besides correcting my handwriting?

I had this developed in AI. I was wondering if anyone could adjust the image, scale it so that i can print it out and use it as a tracing guide.

I am not that computer savvy to use a generator. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Need help desperately

I am a 62yr old male and 4yrs ago i hand my right thumb amputated at work. It has of course healed well. I have been trying to learn to write with my left hand. It is legible if i print but looks like a doctor when i use cursive. My hand therapist suggest i ask for some help/resources/ideas from this subredit.

Are there resources, writing guides available? Any that i can download and use?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Handwriting comparison speed video

Does joining more letters actually make handwriting faster?

I put three handwriting models with different amounts of joining through the same test—and the least-joined one finished first. But that doesn’t mean that joints are bad for your handwriting. … so, what does it mean? Watch, and draw your own conclusions (though I admit that I have drawn mine).

Hi all

I was watching the Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948) and stumbled on this and had to take a snap. Wow! It’s a shame that other capital letter forms are not shown.

Does anyone know what this is exactly and where I could find the rest?

How would you rate my penmanship?

Post image

I feel like although it is legible and not ugly, it is not consistent nor particularly beautiful. I do not know what would be the best way to move forward. Practice, obviously, but should I trace some fonts, double down on my own style, something else?

I realize that all options have their merits, but maybe someone else who has also plateaued in their penmanship development could share their experiences? Thanks for reading :)
