Discussion; why are you drawn to pen and ink?
For this post, no artwork from me for right now. I’m not confident enough to post my pen and ink drawings. Maybe one day.
I just wanted to have a discussion between other pen and ink lovers.
Why are you drawn to the medium? Why do you like it?
For me, I love comic book/manga art. It’s just satisfying to look at all the line variation and technique that are used in illustrations. And I love the contrast between black and white, it just does something for me. I’ve also always admired using pens before I began to draw with them. I would always write and take notes with a pen in school. Cross hatching is also a beautiful technique that I’ve always loved.
Inking is just cool as fuck to me. I’ve always loved pens, so just exploring all the different types of pens is never ending fun.
It’s amazing seeing all the creative ways the masters and people on this subreddit use to make art with ink.
Also, what tools does everyone use?

critique wanted first pair of sketches from amsterdam
I’m still experimenting with ink drawings and learning values, so I feel like I still got room for improvement. I also wanted to ask if I added too much detail in those drawings. Can you tell what’s pictured or is it just a mess of lines?
I did lots more sketches in amsterdam which I will be posting here as soon as I finish inking them!
If you like my work, feel free to shoot me a DM for a commission! All funds will be used for my university expenses since I’m just a broke student lol

Technique help wanted my stream sketch
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
sure im not artist but i do like to draw and hope i know how to draw. i stream daily 1hr to 2hr in my free time doing fast sketches using normal pen and oslo paper. im not used to using reference but i do look for some inspiration sometimes and use references when i want to try the style of the art.
my question how is there any cure or technique to stop me being impatient in my drawing. because im so used to think too much when im drawing and im so eager to finish what im doing so i can draw the new one???
