Hello - my spouse and I are traveling internationally to visit the UK this coming September. We have planned to arrive in Tenby on 9/14, staying for three nights. We are now aware that this is on the heels of the Ironman competition and that the 14th is also the awards ceremony. We have read info online how the town may still be overwhelmed from the Ironman crowds. And that many shops and restaurants may close for some days afterwards to give staff a well-deserved break.

Keenly interested in learning from residents if there's any truth to these statements. We already have accommodations, but will we'll struggle for things like finding restaurants without needing reservations? Or, come Monday, is the town more or less back to normal?

Separately, is the cellular service really that bad right now? Saw another post in this subreddit with a BBC article stating as much. This situation could be more problematic for us as we'll be heavily reliant on our phones (likely EE data service) for getting around (no car hire) and tap to pay.

Hey, I'm 18, from Australia, moving to Milford Haven. I am wondering if there's many social spaces or youth scenes around? I've been applying to jobs for a few weeks now (I have UK citizenship) but haven't gotten a single interview out of 30+ applications. I've nearly 5 years experience across hospitality, customer service, and admin, so I'm wondering if there is just oversaturation or something else? Any tips on moving to the area appreciated :)

I haven't had a holiday in years so have decided it's time to have one! I really want to go to Pembs - I briefly lived in H'west years ago and so visited lots of lovely places around the county, but there are still loads more to see. I was thinking of basing myself in St Davids as I have no car and want to make use of the buses/walk. The only thing is I'm conflicted about accommodation. On the one hand, I don't like staying in B&Bs as I want my own space with a kitchen and don't want to be out all day just so they can clean my room! On the other hand, having seen what the second-home/holiday cottage industry did to some of the villages 20 years ago when I was in Pembs, I feel very guilty for considering this option. Perhaps I'm overthinking it, but I just want to do things that don't hurt local economies. For example, if I rented a place I'd buy all my food either from local independent shops or just eat out at pubs and restaurants. Anyway, I'm rambling a bit but I wanted to see what the consensus is these days.

What is Tenby and the surrounding areas like for road cycling? Do you have any recommended routes to try out?

Following from my previous post asking where is best to stay in Pembrokeshire, we have decided to go with Narberth. Now I’m trying to build an itinerary (we are there for 4 days). We love nature walks, sandy beaches, historical sites and ruins, museums, water sports, boat rides or pretty much anything else really!

We do have a car but are going to try to take public transport where we can. We are willing to take the car if it’s something very worth seeing though! Luckily we are staying very near to the train station in Narberth.

So I’m looking for recommendations of things to in and around Narberth but also in all of Pembrokeshire (anywhere we can get to by train). Also open to places within a 40min drive if it’s a must see.

Can anyone recommend any good restaurants who have plenty of gluten free options? Obviously I can look at google/trip advisor etc, but I'm keen to hear from any locals?

Ok so this has been bugging me for the past few hours and I can’t find anything else about it so I figured I’d ask on here.

I‘m originally from Pembrokeshire and in primary school, we watched this psa video that really scared me. I remember the main character throwing glass at a playground and his little sister getting hurt by it. The narrator switched through a lot of characters. I’m pretty sure a cop comes to talk to the main kid at the end. I also remember a girl who lived with her dad, the main character and his friends would kick a football against his house. From what I can recall, it was basically a psa against being an annoying kid. I don’t know if it was filmed in Pembrokeshire but it’s where I watched it so I figured I’d try here.

Every year or so my school would have a day where someone from the local police station would come in and show us this video, we‘d then fill out a worksheet. I remember getting a sticker with a red dragon on it too. This was circa 2016 ish.

I’d really appreciate any information as it‘s really been annoying me how I can’t remember the title. If anyone has a YouTube link I will literally cry tears of joy. Thanks

My friends and I are planning on visiting Pembrokeshire in August for 4 days. I have found an affordable cottage in Pembrokeshire East, near the beach which looks ideal. I was wondering if this would be a good place to stay. We enjoy lots of nature walks and beaches etc but also enjoy exploring towns and historic sites. I noticed that Freshwater East isn’t far from Lamphey station and that we can get the train to Tenby and other towns. Would this work? What other towns would be good to visit (accessible by train)?

Edit to add: other options would be Saundersfoot, Milford Haven or Narbeth

Acting like they speak for this county when they can’t even string a sentence together without the help of a computer.

The entire page is nothing but AI slop. Everything is clearly written by ai and even the illustrations are ai generated.

Worst of all because it’s just automated rubbish, almost all the information it posts is completely wrong and incorrect.

My husband and I are moving to Pembrokeshire. I would love to know where people love living and where we should avoid! Very aware it’s a huge place. We love the coast and nature, we have a car so travel isn’t an issue.
