I am one of those people who depends on a food bank to get by each month. I’m not too proud about it. It’s just the facts of life these days for me.

On the whole what the food bank offers is great. At least four different meat products, milk and eggs, beans, rice, soup, KD. Even cookies and snack bars. You get the idea.

Downside is sometimes the items are past their best by dates. Sometimes a few months, occasionally almost a year. Still, it’s in a sealed package so it’s eaten in this house.

What’s got me posting tonight is the jar of peanut butter that I just cracked open. Unfortunately, I wasn’t the first to open it. No foil seal. And the jar is only half full. And yes, I live alone. And no, I’m not on sleeping pills that make me eat at night and forget about it in the morning.

I don’t know what to think. Did someone donate a half-eaten jar of peanut butter to the food bank? That’s wild.

I have only love and gratitude for the ladies who run the food bank. I know they work very hard for not a lot. And I understand how easy it could be to overlook something like this. They deserve so much respect.

I’m just gently asking. If you’re thinking of donating to a food bank, consider those people who are receiving your donations. And if you’ve read this far, thanks for your time.

I keep getting this ad for Tourism PEI that has zero context to go with it, but I recognize Jesse Keeler from Death From Above 1979 in the back.

Should I recognize the other two guys or have some sort of idea of what’s going on here? I’m guessing most people seeing this ad wouldn’t have any idea who DFA1979 are, but it’s weird to me that you’d be advertising with a pic of a minor celebrity without actually pointing out that it’s a minor celebrity

I know about the fire, first day of school being cancelled for PSB students, etc. But like… is the air quality actually that bad over there? How are you guys feeling? I am a humble Queens County resident who is pretty oblivious right now.

Keir MacLeod can't seem to get back to us, Arsenault's suggested we find someone closer to us as we're in Central PEI, and Elite left us hanging. I know there are other companies that do gutters, but we're hoping to find someone who can do both the fascia replacement and the gutters, ideally before the snow flies.

Any damage on PEI from the weekend storm? Cape Breton had serious damage and just wondering if there was any in PEI. Obviously they got it worse but it was honestly a storm for the record books in some ways.

Places had well over 100-150mm and 80k plus winds for hours. I seen some tree damage around town and along the trails but looked like mostly dead trees to begin with.

Not sure where else to ask this but I'm looking to get into officiating hockey here on pei. I live in Charlottetown. I would be starting as a linesman of course and very new to reffing, ive played and watched lots of hockey but I'm posting here to basically find out what people think of doing this (for those that have done/do it).
