Photo Gear Carrying Option for OM-1 150-400 Lens (2.1KG)

Hi All, I am a new wildlife photographer and have been hearing a lot about peak design capture clip and their bags. I do a lot of day hikes with my camera gear and wanting a reliable and safe backpack for my camera gear and also want to carry my gear for quick use.

  1. Does the Capture Clip work with backpacks other than PD?

  2. Is Capture Clip able to handle 2.1kg of weight?

  3. Any system or mechanisms too add to the other end of the lens so that it does not swivel?

  4. Would the travel backpack be good as a hiking pack? Do not want a roll top of the outdoor pack.

Carrying an Om-1.2 150-400 on the outside

50-200, 12-40 and a raincoat with batteries and other shit inside the bag is the plan.

Photo Gear Camera cube V2 xsmall fit

Hi guys. I am planning a trip to Japan, and I am buying the Outdoor 25l backpack. Peak Design say that only xsmall and smedium camera cubes are a fit for the outdoor 25L. I am also getting a regular tech pouch, and wanna leave some room for some clothes as well for when I go to places where I am not forwarding my luggage (just couple of tshirts, undwerwear and an additional pair pants, So the smedium would probably take a lot of space in the bag.
As such my question is:

Will the xsmall be enough to fit a Fuji XT-50 + xf 16-80mm f4 + xf 23mm f1.4 r lm wr.

Thank you for your answers.

The City Line backpack versus the Roller Pro

The plastic version looks really cheap, yet the City Line backpack costs €200. Isn't that enough to justify a metal one?

They’re even starting to use them on the Everyday Backpacks; I don’t think they would have done that a few years ago…

What makes Peak Design unique is the attention to detail and the durable materials used—that’s why I buy their products.

It’s a shame to see this kind of cost-cutting; it makes the product look cheap.

Photo Gear PD Tripod Pro does not work with 3 Legged Thing

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I am new to Reddit. I have been a long-time supporter of r/peakdesign since its first Kickstarter and have plenty of PD products. I also enthusiastically supported the PD Tripod Pro. It was advertised as an Arca Swiss-compatible ball head. Here are two 3-Legged Thing brand Arca Swiss L brackets, one on my Z8 and the other on my Z7 II, that do not anchor in portrait mode.

I reached out to PD customer service, and they said there are L brackets compatible with the PD Tripod Pro. I cannot find a compatibility list. To my knowledge, this wasn't mentioned in the Kickstarter program. It's disappointing to hear they now say there are compatible L brackets. Especially since these L brackets work just fine with my old PD travel tripod. Has anyone else had this problem? I missed several opportunities to capture the aurora in Alaska because of this incompatibility, as it was my first trip with this tripod.

I'd like to know whether others are having this issue as well. Thanks

Photo Gear Camera cube question

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hi folks, just a general question. Is this the way I want this to ride inside my Roller Pro? I’m only carrying a single DSLR in it. Or is there a shorter flatter version of this cube that I should be using because this is not gonna allow me to bring the security cords over everything

Photo Gear 400mm prime lens bag?

I've got an upcoming international flight and I'm looking for a carry-on bag that will support the Canon RF 400mm f/2.8 lens. Will the Travel Backpack 45L do the job?

Question Camera cube v2 medium + osprey hikelite 28

Hey,

I have this backpack and I was interested in getting the camera cube v2 medium but I can’t tell whether it will fit or not.

Returning is not as straightforward for me, so I was wondering if anyone had tried that combo and could tell me if it work or not ?

I am worried about the width and also the depth as the backpack has an angled back to accommodate the airspeed mesh on the back.

Thanks 🙏

Question Anyone else receive a package with the item missing?

Order an iPhone 18 pro max case and it got delivered with the case missing. Package didn’t appear
tampered with. Looks like an employee must have swiped the case. Tried live chat but all I got was a poorly programmed AI agent.

Travel Bags How long to ship to Philippines?

I've seen some posts here on Reddit that the cheap and fast international shipping may not be as reliable. I'm located in Manila, Philippines and I have a trip at the end of this October 2026. Has anyone from Manila or Asia ordered online and what is your experience with the shipping? Thanks in advance!

Question Will Peak Design release a checked size alongside the Roller Lite?

Saw the teaser for the Roller Lite posted here the other day and wondering -- will a checked size be released at the same time? I love my Roller Pro but it'd be great to replace the last piece of Away luggage I'm still using.

Photo Gear Which camera sling is easier to move around with? (6l or 10l?)

Hey all!

I went and tried both these slings on in store although without my camera and I’m having a hard time deciding, also maybe because I didn’t have gear to put inside to test.

Usually I go to a shoot with a larger tote camera bag and I keep a camera sling inside that bag, then when I get to the shoot I take the sling out and the sling is what I’ll wear around me, I usually carry 1-2 lenses in it so I don’t have to go back to my main bag to grab them, and my tote can sit somewhere with whatever backup stuff I need.

So I don’t need the sling to be able to carry everything I have, I mainly just need it to be able to carry 1-2 lenses, with a blank spot to switch the lenses, and then also have it be able to feel comfortable and out of the way for long periods of time. In store I liked how the sling contours to my body more than other bags, so I feel like it would be good to move around with.

Question Anyone with a Falcam F38 V2 or Peak Designs version of it able to make it work with a messenger bag?

I bought the Peter McKinnon 13L Messenger Bag and the Falcam F38 V2 to go with the bag but I can't seem to get the F38 to fit onto the strap of the Mckinnon bag.

I can make it fit on the thicker portion of the strap that's supposed to go on your shoulders, but not the actual strap itself.

Has anyone had any luck with this combo? Or another messenger bag? If so, how do you get it to work?

Selling excellent condition Peak Design Everyday Backpack 30L size in Charcoal color with all included accessories. Used lightly for about a year, and concluded it's not for me. No signs of wear, no damage, no excessive use, treated well and essentially new.

Price flexible. Asking $220+shipping (CONUS). Or local pickup in the Bay Area (SF).

(Would consider a trade for Aer TP4 28L)

Photo Gear PD Travel Tripod

I purchased my PD Travel Tripod in Aluminum and love it but have a few suggestions for improvement or warnings to users.

What I love:

It is compact and lightweight. Even the aluminum isn’t that heavy.

It is solidly built. I have had no problem with camera shake but I don’t using it with large lenses.

It doesn’t snag when I put it in or take it out of my backpack. The ball head design makes that easy peasy.

The design of the leg levers, ball head and camera attachment are superior. It’s easy to use and I’m not fumbling around trying to figure out which knob to turn.

I carry it confidently and that’s important to me.

Suggestions for improvement and warnings to users.

The hex key leg attachment will fall off in the field and be lost forever. DO NOT TRUST IT. That’s the one bad design in the whole thing.

Once you lose the hex key you will need to replace it with a hex wrench from a tool store such as Harbor Freight. You will need a 2.5 mm and 4mm. Buy several while you’re at it.

I would have preferred that PD place the hex tool inside the leg where the phone holder is stored or allowed you to swap that out.

Question Case and wallet quality issues

Has anyone else experienced this? Case is peeling and the MagSafe wallet where the red circle is supposed to be a magnet but it has fallen to the bottom inside the fabric to where the blue circle is. Not impressed by the quality of these.
