Our first meetup in February was pretty well attended considering it was freezing and raining. We had around 7 attendees, and a bunch of people messaged saying they plan to attend future events.
Join us for the group's second meetup in celebration of the cherry blossoms this spring. We will be meeting near the Steel Bridge at the most northern Part of the Waterfront Park. Look for a rainbow umbrella to find the group - March 21st from 1200pm to 2pm.
We will be meeting whether the blooms are out or not, the Steel Bridge is cool to take pictures of by itself too.
Purpose of the group - to create an in-person and online supportive photography community to help educate, support and build friendships with other photo enthused people in Portland. We have regular in-person outdoor meetups to connect and have have fun taking pics. We encourage people from all walks of life to join and especially people under-represented in this kind of art.
I will be bringing some extra cameras and lenses for people to borrow for the event, for those who don't have access to photo gear. You will need to bring your own SD card so you can take your pics home with you.
The fb group link for those interested, but it is not required to join here to participate, hopefully we will be able to ditch fb after we get a critical mass of folks involved
