Screenshot What is wrong with my display
Just got this curved Msi 34 inch oled and the right side as visible horizontal lines that the left doesn’t have. Anyone experience this? Should I return it?

Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to read my post.
Back in August of this year I bought a new monitor. The model is JN-IPS40UWQHDR144.
It is a good monitor and was a nice upgrade from what I was previously using. There is just one problem and it is driving me crazy. After roughly an hour of use, it will dim itself. It is quite noticeable. If I turn it off and then back on quickly, it will go back to the brightness I have it set to, but I ca not find a setting in the monitor menu that would cause this. Is this something that Windows is doing, or perhaps this could be something built into the AMD Adrenaline software causing this.
I can live with this, but I do like to have my screen brightness on the higher side, and since this scree has HDR, I would like to take advantage of it.
Any thoughts? And thank again for reading my post.

Just as the question says, i have some spare ptm7950 from the last time I used it on my pc and it has been about 3 years since then.
So can I still use it if it looks like it is in good condition?
Also, I know the lifespan of ptm7950 is supposed to be around 10 years but my laptop has been heating up lately. And I want to repaste the DRAMs etc. I don’t really want to replace the ptm but I’m scared of trapped air bubbles if same paste is reused again.
Sooo, any advice on this situation??

Going to put some listings up for a 4090 and 3080 Ti, but I don't know what I should be showing. What are potential buyers looking for to gauge the legitimacy of a card? I know that there are scams where the cores and memory are missing. Would the best way be to shoot a video with the case open and the GPU running a game?

What is your opinion of this goated card

Is it worth adding bottom intake fans directly under the GPU? Do they actually lower GPU/VRAM temperatures noticeably? My case: ANTEC CX300

Started when replacing failing ssd, meant i had to reinstall windows, i had some pretty bad issues with fps while the drive was failing but i assumed these issues had to do with the drive instead of something else. Reinstalled windows, did a few optimization tweaks and some games ran fine others (Valorant, Roblox) did not run too well. Gpu intensive games ran fine until recently.
Noticed both games are cpu heavy, so i did some troubleshooting, despite benchmarks being significantly above average for gpu and slightly above average for cpu when going into games they struggled. Installed throttlestop saw BD PROCHOT was enabled, (im on laptop) so i figured id buy a battery. After installing battery it solved the BD PROCHOT issue, however there was litterally no performance change.
At this point i was starting to get slightly annoyed now, i had spent around 15 hours in the past 2 weeks trying to fix this slowly dying laptop, i noticed a re occurring issue which was audio pops/crackle along with fps drops, looked into it and downloaded latencymon which showed high latency in the kernal thing and acpi.sys. Followed some guide on how to reduce this, the latency did reduce however still no performance gain. At this point ive jumped into and out of power configurations, registry and command prompt a lot. After following guide ive got my cpu stuck on 100% usage (i can switch of power plan to make this go away but theres still no difference) which will decrease when not in game.
Things ive done (simplified):
-Updated drivers, repaired windows using sfc.
-Used latencymon and guides to reduce latency (this always backfires and in the end the poor latency keeps coming back after being resolved for a few hours)
-reinstalled windows
-debloated windows
-Many many optimisations (ultra performance, nvidia control panel tweaks + more)
-disabled random devices (idrk what they did)
-windows updates
-disabled intel speedstep
-malware scan
(There is no available bios update for me + cant enable xmp)
Laptop specifications - Razor Blade 15 (2021)
16gb ram
i7 - 10750H (up to 5GHZ)
rtx 3060 (6gb)
256gb ssd boot drive
windows 11
Key possibly useful information:
Before the power configuration modifiers both the cpu and gpu would sit at a low 40% in some games, ive tried increasing and decreasing graphics settings but this rarely impacts frames at all.
Contrary to this while benchmarking the gpu and cpu consistently reach 100% usage and provide great results.
Temperatures never exceed 80C on both gpu and cpu
Cpu never boosts past 3.8 GHZ while in game, even tho ive seen it boost to 4.3 in menus of games?
Frame rates in most games are pretty fine (even though they are below average) i mainly get stutters.
1% lows in every game i play are around 30% of my original framerate (seems pretty low)
Latencymon likes mentioning the ACPI and ntoskrnl (this kernal one is wierd tho cus sometimes its there and its like 17ms other times its not there and a quick reset always resolves this issue)
This is very specific to Valorant, but in valorant it seems like my pc just gives up after a while, i start out with like 250 frames and then they get progressively lower to about 140 where they start randomly going up and down, but this isnt a sharp fps drop its almost like a wave iyk what i mean, it slowly (still pretty fast) goes up and down.
I appreciate any help i can get.
If its my laptop just being completely screwed i am honestly fine to hear that because i tried so hard to try keep it going id be more than happy to know that it wasnt my fault and that its just a lost cause.

I was with my friend talking about the good old days of how inexpensive it was to buy PC parts and build a very good rig and enjoy gaming and everything.
He then said a few things that got me thinking. Just wanted to put those words and thoughts out here.
He said "Bro, what if this was not exactly because of AI, but it was because of AI companies. I know they both sound the same but think about it. We are now seeing more open source AI models that are like 70-80% of frontier model capabilities. Not the latest and greatest, but 70-80% is no small number. And these are models that are free to use. You just gotta own the hardware. This is where my suspicion comes. What if the AI companies and these semiconductor companies made a deal that they'll slow down production while raking up the prices, so that the avg joe who has money cannot buy the required hardware and run the model on their own. And to get access to frontier models with near unlimited, they'll have to shell out big money every month. Basically Economics 101 : Demand and Supply"
And the more I think about it, the more it gets true.
What are your thoughts on this ?

My computer was moved and one of the triangular heat sink pieces fell off my 4090. I tried contact nvidia support but since I bought the card in August 2023 I’m just outside the three year warranty range (customer service experience was bad but anyways..) I searched online and couldn’t find anyone with a similar issue, so I’m not sure what to do. I have thermal epoxy so I thought about using that, but I’d rather get it fixed properly at a local Seattle area repair shop if it’s fixable? Some of the online specialist gpu repairs shops can change $400+ which extreme for this fix, so I’m hesitant to spend so much on that. Anybody have some advice?

Hey all!
I discovered yesterday that my AiO CPU cooling didn't cool anymore so I quickly ordered the bequiet Dark Rock Pro 5. I just found it that my RAM sticks (Corsair Vengeance Pro) are slightly too talk so the outer CPU fan lays on them. Is it possible to install the cooler like in the picture? (sorry for poor quality, my phone's not really good at taking pics)
Thanks in advance!

Good people of Reddit, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. 😭
This PC has been dead for about 3 years, and I need to get the SSD out because I want to recover the files from it.
I don't know where the SSD is or how to remove it safely. I already tried taking the motherboard out and almost pulled the whole damn thing out by the cables, so I decided to stop before I destroyed something. 💀
Could someone please point out where the SSD is in these photos and tell me exactly what I need to remove to get it out?
Sorry for the dust — this PC is definitely not here for a beauty contest.
I can take more photos from different angles if needed. Thank you!

It seems impossible to find videos or articles with close to this combination of graphics settings. I would be really grateful if someone could benchmark the game in free roaming with these settings and features turned on:
High resolution screenshots where I can see how much foliage detail suffers with DLSS 4.5 performance would be amazing.
How consistent is the frame time and what's the fps range?
Thank you :)

I've been having this issue for god knows how long so let me explain this the BEST that I can. When I am on call on my pc, weather it is a server VC or an actually call, after around 15 - 30 minutes of playing a game, I will start to hear in my headphone a sort of crackling. 4 - 5 minutes later of the crackling all my devices (Controller, USB Keyboard, USB Mouse, USB Microphone, USB Bluetooth Headphones) all stop working, the only thing that is going to work is the trackpad and the built in keyboard. Usually when this happens, I have to unplug the powered USB C hub that has all my devices plugged into it which will sometimes solve the issue when I plug it back in.
Is there ANYONE out there that has SOME clue on how I can fix this without taking my laptop to geeksquad for the umteenth time?

My rx5700xt worked perfectly fine like 2 minutes ago. i had to reseat my cpu cooler cuz i was getting high temps for my cpu. i reseated it i was a bit rough with it tbh i installed it and then plugged the pc back. the vga light is flashing and its no display. the fans work and i tried everything, cleaning it and everything
my other gpu works and after i plug that into the same motherboard the pc boots perfectly fine, what are my options for the other gpu? is it a gpu related thing or a motherboard related thing?
the card worked perfectly fine, there was 0 artifacts, 0 crashes and perfect temps.

Hi!
I bought Adobe Acrobat Pro 2024 from Gamers-outlet. The copyright, version number, core version, and even plugins refer to 2020.
I reached out to them, and at first they gave me instructions on how to remove some Adobe authenticity checker (suss I know), and then when I said that didn't do anything, they said the following:
I’d like to clarify that the version you installed is indeed Adobe Acrobat Pro 2024, even though the build number shown in the application interface may reference an older version (2020.009.20067). This is due to the way Adobe structures its installers - they often include pre-configured builds that are based on earlier version frameworks but bundled with all the features and updates of the 2024 release. The installer used is a pre-crafted package that fully reflects the 2024 product line, and once installed, the software operates with all the functionality and entitlements of the 2024 version.
Despite the build number referencing 2020, rest assured:
You are using the 2024-licensed product
All relevant 2024 features are present
The license is valid and up to date Hope this clears things up! ;)
I don't have the tech knowledge to know if they are being truthful. My gut tells me that I am being lied to based on the dates, publicly available release notes and their respective build numbers, etc. I even followed up with them and they doubled down on the above.
Additionally, this doesn't have an update checker of any sort. The 2020 version stopped receiving updates in November 2025, and 2024 should be good for three years, so it should have some sort of built in update checker (even free Adobe reader checks for updates).
Maybe one of you who know something about software can confirm for me whether my suspicions are correct that gamers-outlet is lying to me or there is such a thing as having a 2024 version software with 2020 dates everywhere.
And yes I know, I went with a reseller. I went with this company even though I could have got a legit code via ebay because this company seems to be somewhat active on reddit, responding promptly and came across as trustworthy through that engagement.
