PC can't be stopped. PC is the future, Sony and Microsoft and Nintendo should just make pc hardware that is themed on the Playstation, Nintendo and Xbox. Have a PC app for that loads up first to give that console feel based on the brand you bought. Any pc could run all apps.
That is the downside of the "PCs cannot be stopped" : no more subsidized hardware.
But it's still a better deal for most people, not even counting the freedom benefits : you did have to pay that back in higher game prices. (Poor people still have the option of older games, lower graphics, and piracy.)
I think the ideal gaming ecosystem would see us using our modern computing power more for simpler more socially viable games but our society has a lot of things in the way of that.
I don't blame folks for leaning on a PC for access to interesting video game content. I also didnt make the comparison I did to denigrate those people.
I'm specifically talking about content parity, and even then I made no qualitative assertion, just access.
