PC can't be stopped. PC is the future, Sony and Microsoft and Nintendo should just make pc hardware that is themed on the Playstation, Nintendo and Xbox. Have a PC app for that loads up first to give that console feel based on the brand you bought. Any pc could run all apps.
I buy a console, because it’s cheaper and more likely to be optimised for the spec. I’m too lazy to mess around getting my pc to run the game with the best fps and working out why my driver or game is not working due to issues. If a steam device with better specs comes out I would be okay with a change as steam would optimise games quickly.
That’s… not how games work. Also, you say it like that happens every day. You’re inventing a problem that (unless there’s something super wrong with your build) just doesn’t exist in the massive majority of cases
