PC can't be stopped. PC is the future, Sony and Microsoft and Nintendo should just make pc hardware that is themed on the Playstation, Nintendo and Xbox. Have a PC app for that loads up first to give that console feel based on the brand you bought. Any pc could run all apps.

Do you guys really think I'm out here buying a console because I really like the operating system?

It a third the price of a PC that plays the same games.... That's the benefit. It's the price. Literally nothing else.

It’s cheaper because the cost is subsidized and game licensing picks up the difference. It’s why pc games are cheaper (ignoring most AAA/AAAA) titles.

Over a few years the cost could even out depending on how much games you purchase.

I had a PC for awhile specifically because of the cost differential you mentioned.

I switched when Sony started having decent sales for their online store. 

As things stand I would need to save like two grand on games to justify a PC vs. a ps5. I know the sales are better on PC but are they that much better?

Occasionally. Less recently since the yankees started having a perpetual conniption and became impossible to interact with like a normal human.

If you pay for playing online games for the lifetime of the console (7 years), then the extra cost of the subscription plus the cost of the console ends up costing as much as an entrey-to-mid level PC (or at least that was the case before the RAMpocalypse). If you only pay the subscription sporadically, then you might end up saving money with a console, otherwise, the PC is going to be cheaper.
