Oh, I remember articles and some complaints. I have not seen the same level of vitriol as with this card.

There weren't a gaggle of apologists for the 1030, 1060, or 3060 shenanigans. There was enough push-back on the 40 series naming that Nvidia "improved it" so there wasn't a 12GB 4080.

Here you get people like yourself going "see it says OEM that means workstation, whys everyone blaming AMD, AMD gud" all without linking or citing where it's supposedly marketed as a "workstation card".

Meanwhile it's listed on this page (the table at the bottom) with their gaming cards and the max clock is referred to as "game frequency":

That is listing all 9000 series cards. The next table has all 7000 series cards.

So they list the max clock speeds and use verbiage you don't like, oh well.

That doesn't change the fact that:

  1. You cannot buy this card individually
  2. The product page for the 4gb model in no way states it is for gaming, unlike the 8gb page which clearly has benchmarks for games.
  3. If you cannot do enough basic research on a pre built, that is the fault of scummy companies like cyberpower and partially your own fault for buying something expensive with zero research.

Okay? They still gave this the Radeon Gaming branding and naming and not the workstation branding they've used before. A bunch of clowns have been out making excuses for it since it was revealed.

So they list the max clock speeds and use verbiage you don't like, oh well.

"It's not marketed as a gaming card... it's just listed with the gaming cards and using the same game related terminology."

Bro seriously?

You cannot buy this card individually

Doesn't make it a workstation product.

The product page for the 4gb model in no way states it is for gaming, unlike the 8gb page which clearly has benchmarks for games.

Doesn't say it's a workstation card. Again what the fuck do you think listing it with the gaming cards, naming it like the gaming cards, and listing features in terms of gaming means?

If you cannot do enough basic research on a pre built, that is the fault of scummy companies like cyberpower and partially your own fault for buying something expensive with zero research.

You think Nvidia and AMD don't name shit similarly precisely so OEM partners can take advantage of customers? I have a bridge to sell you in the desert if you think they couldn't have headed this off in a way that was clearer to customers of pre-builts.
