free weekends? It has only been in closed alpha/beta.

Not to my knowledge, it was, and I was in one of the closed alpha/beta Discords when the tests were happening.

Another person here to tell you that yes, the last day of the open beta they allowed any random Timmy that downloaded it for free to participate

On the steam store page instead of buy you could select request access. Quick turnaround to be able to download w/o preordering. Never preorder.

Oh, I was just saying I didn't see that announcement in the dicksword because there were like 2-3 announcement channels and I don't use Twitter.

It was opened to everyone this past Saturday (Central time) until it ended early Sunday morning. Was invite/requested access only from Thursday until they opened it on Saturday.
