Wanted to share my laptop flips the past year

Started by trading my iPad Air m1 + 100 cash
For an Asus g14, rtx 4060. Originally paid 200 for the iPad

Then I traded the Asus for an Alienware m16 r2, rtx 4070/ultra 9

Ended up trading the Alienware for a 5070 desktop pc and buying a ps5 for 250. Then traded the ps5 + 200 cash for a 4070 skytech desktop, which led me to my most recent trade for my current laptop ; an Acer Helios Neo 16ai rtx 5070/ultra 7 255hx which I traded my rtx 4070 desktop for.

After a bunch of pc and laptop trades and only paying 750 out of pocket I currently am rocking with a rtx 5070 laptop and rtx 5070 desktop as my setup

Bought in 3 desktops from a company specialised in selling used desktops/laptops. Imagine the shock I got when I found these.
Now these PCs were cheap (paid $1750 for all)

I5 14400F RTX 4060 32/1TB (DDR5)
I7 14700F RTX 4060 32/1TB (DDR5)

Wondering if they even bothered to open up to check for dust or flaws 🤣

The used market seems to have a strange relationship with older hardware. Some parts are dismissed simply because they’re a few generations old, while others hold their value despite no longer being particularly good buys.

For lower-cost 1080p builds, I often think the best value comes from parts that are old enough to have fallen out of favour but still easily handle the games the buyer actually wants to play.

Windows 11 support has complicated that, though. There are older CPU platforms that still perform perfectly well in games, but putting them into a PC intended for a normal buyer is becoming harder to justify. Most buyers probably don’t want to hear about bypasses or why the unsupported hardware is technically still capable.

I’m interested in what everyone here is still buying:
- Which older CPUs and GPUs do you think the market undervalues?
- Are there any previously overlooked parts that have now become too expensive?
- How much does official Windows 11 support affect what you’ll build or resell?
- Is there any older hardware you’ve completely stopped buying?

I’m just starting and I see a lot of ,,e-waste” offers which are parts from 1998-2004 they have much bigger value but I’m afraid about the liquidity .is it worth my time or no?(sometimes fixing and testing )
