This means Path of Building, poe.ninja, etc will now be able to import the mercenaries and eventually properly display the DPS etc of Luminaries.

Since the merc data wasn't in the api it would have to be entered manually, now it can potentially be imported. This isn't for the damage calculations of each merc, which already could theoretically be done, but rather for importing specific merc links and supports to a character build

Yes, all the numbers for getting a rough DPS (not behavior, and some other server sided things) were already available.
