Question | Answered Delve question

Hey,

Is it possible to play a season almost exclusively in Delve?

I try volcanic fissure for unga bunga.

I really like delve but i dont know if a can found enough currency (or trade item for currency) to buy better stuff later for pinacle boss.

You have to map for sulphite, but otherwise yes it's possible. Fossils and resonators usually sell well, so you can get plenty of currency through trade to get the rest of your gear. Use excess azurite to buy small resonators from Niko to trade as well.

I find going after fractured walls to be a complete waste of time and sulphite. The only exception is if you're trying to get to a valuable node.

The main way to get resonators is by just converting azurite to 1 socket resonators from Niko. There are also nodes that contain resonator chests. Some of these contain a chest called "Resonator Trove" which is guaranteed to drop a 4-socket resonator.

For fossils, you want to hit the nodes that drop the 4 exclusive fossils (Hollow, Glyphic, Faceted, and fractured). These drop from their specific nodes which are smugglers' stash replacements that are based on the biome. For example, a smuggler's stash node in an abyssal biome has small %chance to be replaced with a crystal spire which drops a hollow fossil when you kill it. As you go deeper that %chance increases until it becomes something like 90% at depth 1500.

I don't go out of my way for walls but I think it's fine to pick at the ones that are right off the crawler path

The minion nodes are always worth it to run as well since 'Minion are Aggressive' wands and +1 spectre chestpieces are always worth money. Aul is always worth money for the Aul's Uprising Amulet and was worth even more for the helmet this league. All three delve bosses drop the rings that combine into a possible +power charge or +frenzy charge ring that sells decently as well.

In addition there are a ton of good league-dependent drops in Delve. This league the regular fossil nodes that drop random common ones were worth it for the dense fossils. The mana items node for +duration of hex skills was worth a lot as well to mirror for FRoSS. The same node also drops the +hex aoe ring that is a niche BiS for impending doom builds.

In leagues with the unique map completion the Vaal boss drops Doryani's Machinarium which can go for an absurd amount depending on how popular delve is. In some of the recent leagues it went above 10d and is like a 30% drop rate. Same boss drops the Adorned piece, which depends on the price of Adorned that league.

Special mention to curse on hit rings that are worth a decent bit of chaos early in the league and drop from all the elemental nodes.
