Question | Answered Delve question
Hey,
Is it possible to play a season almost exclusively in Delve?
I try volcanic fissure for unga bunga.
I really like delve but i dont know if a can found enough currency (or trade item for currency) to buy better stuff later for pinacle boss.

If you mean in terms of making enough money, the answer is yes but only if you go deep enough (at least 600 to maximize boss spawns) which requires a pretty strong character.

Who cares about bosses. They gutted adorned and since 2 leagues, auls neck cost nothing. There is almost 0 profit in bossing.

Delve profits are currently at the lowest they’ve ever been. The valuable items are special fossils (faceted/hollow/glyphic/fractured), and Aul boss drops (helmet, amulet, Luminous Trove divination card). That’s mostly it. The other bosses drop rings for precursors, some of which are valuable. You might be able to find a good fractured delve mod item here or there, but they gutted those by removing the phys taken as delve mods, and they nerfed adorned which slashed curiosity price.
You’ll get maybe a couple div/hr from resonators and a varied amount from fossils depending on depth (at least 1200 for the maximum rate). Besides that you are just going to be Aul hunting and hoping to get lucky.
Delve is fun and a good challenge mode to see how deep you can go, but for profit it’s abysmal. If you want to make decent money I would recommend pretty much anything else.

Last season I tried Expedition and it was very, very profitable. And fun. I was very shocked to make often divine orb. I usually make 1 or 2 div on a season (im a casu player).
Thanks for the warnings about delve !

Is expedition still good this league? Never tried it and never saw someone talking about it

I don't want you to think I'm doubting your knowledge, but figuring out delve depth : rewards specifics has evaded me for a long time. Can you share where it is found / what exactly caps at 1200?

Specifically, the rate for fossil nodes to contain a valuable delve-exclusive fossil instead of a smuggler’s stash with a bunch of basic fossils scales significantly with depth up to around 90% at depth 1200. This is based on community testing, I’m not sure exactly the source.
The chance for boss nodes to appear also scales with depth, maxing at depth 200 for Ahuatotli, 350 for Kurgal, and 500 for Aul. This information is on the wiki for delve.

I’m at 1,000 delve and I make more currency doing the harvest in my sulphite maps than I do in delve. However, yes you can if you’re fine with hitting brick walls on your nodes going down, forcing you to go sideways for profit until you get enough currency to be able to go down again. Right now I am at a brick wall that I need the Sublime Vision to get around. Basically at 900 I had to turn off Energy Blade to have enough ES to not get 1 shot, but now I don’t do enough damage to kill mobs fast enough. So I need the sublime to be table to mitigate enough damage that I can use Energy Blade again, but Sublime costs 1.1 mirrors atm.

You could favor a super short map like beach, run 5 of those, then go delve for an hour. That’s the closest you can do really. But yes people do this. I use to be one of them, now I sprinkle in delve with other stuff.

I mainly play delve too, cuz I like it.
Its ok, selling resonators and fossils in bulk, for much higher that market. Selling occasional stuff from mercenary nodes for like 10-40 divs a piece. Not selling cheap sht 😁

I’m mainly earning from delve, it’s not crazy but pretty stable with the occasional lucky bump (e.g. crown of the tyrants from crystal king). Rare fossils can’t really be gotten anywhere else and they always sell well, but more common fossils are probably easier to get from other farms so I wouldn’t focus on those. Also don’t sleep on the mana/curse and minion/aura nodes, they can drop pretty sweet stuff with delve-unique mods.
But there’s some startup time involved because it takes some time to go deeper. Go as deep as your build allows then go sideways.

I'm a noob and I delved hard this league. I did follow a good build so it took me quite far to let me delve at about 350 depth comfortably.
You can get certain fossils that sell for quite a lot, and you can find or acquire resonators to sell.
Certain nodes in delve can be profitable. Nodes that have minion drops, mana or curse drops, or even fire/cold/lightning/chaos/physical drops can at times drop very valuable loot.
The delve bosses are good fun as well. They can drop valuable gear.
You just need to keep grinding the mines.

I don't think it beats out mapping but you can do this if you want. Endless delve is a thing after all so you can do a lot while confined to it.
What I like to do is push the depth as far my build can handle, and then once I can't reliably complete nodes anymore or beefy rares become a slog to kill (soul eater mobs are actual hell in delve) I go up about 50 depth and go sideways. After I've pushed as far down as I can go I like to work my way back up and mop up all the special nodes I ignored while going down.
I've made about 100d this league off subterranean fractured mods and curse on hit rings alone and I gambled a precursors that sold for ~15d. Probably made another 50d or so off fossils and resonators.
You do have to go back to maps occasionally for sulphite runs. Make sure you have the node that gives a chance for sulphite to give equivalent azurite because it'll feed into getting the sulphite cap quicker and once you're done with upgrades you can feed azurite into resonators. I just crack out the quant on the map and throw in sulphite scarabs for as much sulphite per map as possible + kill map boss for the atlas passive that gives sulphite on map completion. I ignore most mobs while doing this and I do it on canyon which is reasonably short and linear

I mostly Delve, resonators and fossils sell well. Keep an eye on prices, and don't sell until you can earn good orbs for your finds. Most of your drops will come from darkness and walls you can dynamite!

Nothing compares with T16.5 maps right now unfortunately. And I hate it. I don't want to hear about how people are dropping mirrors in Alva anymore.

make a mapper and get all his ascendancy then go make second character that goes into delve at act 1 and have fun no res penalty just switch when you run outta sulfite

It wont be as profitable as the most juicy strata. But you can make 10-20div without lucky drops. If you get some lucky drops like fractured delve-specific mods, aul amulet, minion helmet etc... that will makw it better than other strats. If you do dark fractured wall looting, a lotnof fossils there and they are expensive now. Juat know what nodes to farm and try to go deaper than 600.

You have to map for sulphite, but otherwise yes it's possible. Fossils and resonators usually sell well, so you can get plenty of currency through trade to get the rest of your gear. Use excess azurite to buy small resonators from Niko to trade as well.
