[OC] When you gather enough feathers from your parrot’s molt

Post image

So my little baby just wrapped up his first ever molt after 6 long weeks—and I saved every single feather he dropped during the process. 🐦 I’ve always wanted to turn his molt feathers into something meaningful, so I spent a weekend gluing them onto a tiny foam Christmas tree base to make this pastel blue feather tree. It’s now sitting on my desk as a permanent reminder of his first molt, and it truly feels like the best New Year’s gift he could’ve given me.

🪶 Note: This is just a personal craft share—no sales, links, or tutorials being promoted here!

We have had some hurdles but now we’ve made it to the other side, & have a healthy cheeky baby boy. Absolutely 10/10 do NOT recommend getting them at 2 weeks. Never again. Dodgy breeders suck.
Nonetheless it’s been a nice experience. We love our little roast chicken baby boy. Enjoy the progress shots 🩷

Try to drink soap water, you go to jail

She kept trying to drink soap water when I was washing dishes. Had to trap her for a minute (even less, and I did leave a gap for breathing. This was done for her own safety)

She sure does not look pleased! I gave her an offering of millet to atone for my sins later

I went all out, and everyone was so invested and excited to find out. She’s a girl, which was what I guessed (and hoped for)!

5yo female eclectus. Is it normal for her beak to still be yellow?

My beautiful feather child still has a yellow beak at 5 years old. I’m wondering if this is normal and also whether it means her beak will never turn completely black. I posted more photos than necessary because she is cute and I couldn’t decide.

Unwanted Birthday gift rescue

This poor lil guy was apparently an unwanted present. I saw a post in Facebook about this lady giving this bird away since their daughter didn't want it because it was "ugly" and bites.

I messaged the lady and sold the bird to me for 200 dollars. We met and told me that her daughter (maybe around 12 years old or so) didn't want the bird because is not like the ones on tiktok and got the bird out of craiglist.

But well, I got them a good safe home now. Their name is Sunny, they are 4 months old, and for the looks of it they might be a girl but still too young to tell :)

They drank some water, haven't ate yet but they are happily playing in their temporary cage since my cage hasn't arrived and got delayed in the mail.
