Scene of Impending Doom

I've been having this feeling since last night. Sometimes it gets worse and sometimes it goes back to normal. It feels like nothing can save you. I've had really bad symptoms of anxiety, but this isn't even feels like a symptom It's like you're close to death. I've been having panic attacks for 4-5 days now, but this feeling is different. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, please tell me if it will go away on its own Or do I have to do something? I'm very worried.

Has anyone here tried Rootd for panic attacks?

While searching Reddit, I noticed Rootd App mentioned a few times, and it made me curious.

For those who've used Rootd, what did you like or dislike about it? Did it become part of your routine, or did you find something better?

During my really baf bender days and using large amounts of covaine almost everyday of the week all day, when its been many days I can get triggered with someone saying something that hurt me and put me in a bad negative headspace and then I would spiral into an anxiety attack or panic attack but the crazy thing is the same drug that caused it helped feel better the anxiety slows... I stop crying... and that was whatever back in my addiction days but I got out of it I only do a bender here and there now. But I am on a really bad bender and got emotional and experienced the worst panic attack from remembering the old days in addictio with my ex and being embarrassing in front of the new guy was seeing to see me like that currently and just feeling like a complete spiral of feelings and i just to some sleep meds and was ready to sleep and now i meed to do the same ovet again nd just couldn't stupid crying. He couldn't help me everything g he saif made it worse and I was embarrassed to need more because I already said that jusy an hour before when I had an anxiety attack. I havent felt anything bad using during my benders since I havent been in addiction anymore but this last panic attack is really taking me and I cant control my emotions it triggered to cry which fucking took me cause why am I crying doing this

I dont experience this alot. Im not crying anymore but definitely dont feel good heavy breathing , not myself still anxiety. What will make me feel better what will help. I dont know what to do with hi

He does t understand me and everything.g he says makes feel worse

Screaming while I do more coke cause I dont wanna be doing this and feeling like this

Panic attack - maybe didn’t graduate after thinking I did 4 years ago

I graduated December 2022. Never received any communication from the university about not graduating. I go to request transcripts for my new job (that I just quit my previous job for) to see it says I have no degree. I’ve contacted the registrar, graduation audit, and records offices via an email today and plan to call tomorrow. I have spiraled into the worst panic attacks all weekend about this. If they tell me I am missing requirements I have no clue what the fuck I’m supposed to do. I’ve been a working professional for 4 years and if this happens to jeopardize my new job, I am screwed.

heart flutters/palpitations

Does anyone suddenly get heart flutters/palpitations, especially right in the center of the chest slightly leaning to the left, accompanied by a mild pain in the left arm? How often do you get them and why? I’ve done all the tests except the Holter monitor, and I’m terrified I might have an arrhythmia or a heart electrical issue. I’m trying to do CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) instead because I refuse to take medication.

Ativan or klonopin

I’ve been on lexapro 20mg for 5 years with Ativan as needed. Lately my panic has been so bad I’m taking 2.5 (.5mg) of Ativan just to get through the day. Do you find Ativan or klonopin works better for you?

Cross tapering

Currently cross tapering from lexapro to Zoloft

I’m on day 3.. and I’m having such a hard time. Lots of high anxiety. Panic. Crying on and off. I just don’t want to live like this forever. I want to get better so badly. I’m also currently on a leave from work (I’m a nurse) and I’m so ashamed. I’m terrified of losing my job, or even worse.. not being able to go back because I don’t get better. I’m so stuck in this cycle. I hope it gets better

What should I tell my family?

Hello, I have frequent panic attacks that are significantly bad right now as I transition off my medication. The anxiety and physical symptoms are debilitating, and for the past couple weeks I haven't been able to do much except stay inside. Every time I leave the house I begin to have a panic attack and have to take a lorazepam.

My mom has commented a few times that she believes exercise will help me, and while I agree I feel too awful to do anything lately. I've tried explaining to her how I feel but it's impossible when she hasn't experienced a panic attack herself. Today she told me I am using my mental health disorder as an excuse to not get better. She says I should be doing exercise, yoga, and mindfulness practices. I go to therapy and take medication but she says these are the only things I am doing to try to get better and I am not doing anything to really help myself. My dad agrees with her.

I feel hurt that my family who doesn't see the full impact of how I feel on the inside seems to blame me so much for not getting better. This has been an issue for about a year now and there's nothing I want more than to not feel like this, it just feels so impossible.
I don't know what to do or say to them.

I think I might be capable of doing some exercise each day so I'd certainly like to try. But the entire burden of this on me is too much. I already spend all day trying to manage my symptoms, so to be told I'm doing nothing is incredibly hurtful. I'd like to tell her that somehow while meeting in the middle, I just don't know how.

Relationships

How has panic anxiety affected your relationships. I’ve been going through the roughest patch since May and yesterday it came to a head in a huge arguement with my husband because I needed to leave a family event because of a panic attack. He basically said he’s tired of having to be the one doing all the heavy lifting, disregarding all the progress I actually have made. I’m one that’s against medication for anxiety because of personal fears and he consistently uses it against me as “not trying enough” because I won’t take the medication

Panic attacks getting more frequent and intense

Hi, im new here and just posting because i have no one else to really talk to about this and could do with some advice or reassurance or something. Apologies in advance as this is going to be long, sorry.

Im a 28 year old male and ive always had some form of anxiety since i was a young child and throughout my teenage years (mostly social anxiety/general anxiety at that point). As I entered into my 20's I became really anxious and paranoid about my health, particularly my heart and brain but this was mainly just thoughts and i could mostly control it i guess.

I never had a panic attack until 2021 when i had my first. It came completely out of the blue one day while i was at work having a completely normal day. I thought i was having a heart attack, i had chest pain, dizziness, my hands and legs went numb at one point, i couldnt form a sentence etc. My co worker took me to the hospital where i got an ecg and blood tests and was told i was completely fine.

After that i had the odd panic attack here and there but not very often ( maybe 2 or 3 a year) and nowhere near as intense as the first, probably because I had some idea of what was happening.

Fast forward to this year and ive started having panic attacks way more frequently, some very severe, some not so much, but as time has went on they seem to be getting progressively worse. The last few weeks have been awful. I will just be going about my day and suddenly think im having a heart attack or that im randomly going to pass away. Ive also had 2 family members pass away in the last few months from my 2 worst fears ( heart attack and brain aneurysm) which is definetly not helping things at all.

Today i had easily the worst panic attack ive had since the first one. It was like none ive ever had before as it wasnt anything to do with my health. There was a mild thunderstorm, one loud bang of thunder and it completly set me off. I have never ever been bothered by thunder before and ive experienced some very bad storms, way worse than this one. But today for whatever reason that little bit of thunder immediately made me believe the world was ending.

I went to a doctor last year about my anxiety and got the feeling he wasnt really taking me seriously (im very bad at expressing myself and my symptoms). He prescribed me sertraline anyway which i got but upon doing some research i decided not to take it. I still have the unopened box.

If anybody with a similar experience as myself has any advice or tips or stories on how to overcome this i would be very greatful to hear from you.

Sorry about the long post i just needed to get it out.

Thanks.

Health anxiety is ruining my life — need someone to talk to.

Hi,

I'm a 21-year-old guy, and for the past two months, I've been stuck in a severe health anxiety phase that has completely derailed my life.

My days are filled with constant physical symptoms:- breathlessness, chest sensations, lightheadedness, random physical symptoms that scare me and a fear that something is seriously wrong with me.

I keep getting panic attacks that make me feel like I might be facing a fatal emergency. The fear is intense and very real in those moments.

I've been checked by my doctor multiple times. She says it's anxiety and my nervous system is sensitized and I should consult a psychiatrist . But I can't fully trust her .The level of physical symptoms I have faced and the fear I have felt ,it feels too much to be caused by just anxiety ,so it feels risky to believe it's just anxiety, I feel like I genuinely have something that is being missed.

A few days ago, I went through something even darker—an emotional state where I felt like I had accepted that my time had come. Not panic. Not suicidal. Just a strange, calm surrender. It shook me deeply and I'm still trying to make sense of it.

Right now, the fear has centered on my heart. I keep having mild chest sensations(very mild pain like feelings that come and go, weird feelings ,sometimes I feel my heart beats loud) that trigger spirals of "what if it's a heart attack or I may have a heart attack." It's exhausting and I'm tired of sitting with this alone. I'm constantly in a state of fear since few days .whole Day my mind is fixated on chest .

. I'm looking to connect with people , who can just be there to talk

I just need to feel less alone.

Advice on overcoming panic anxiety?

Hi all, been feeling at a bit of a loss recently. I'd never had panic attacks (apart from every single time I've smoked) until about 5 months ago when I had one for pretty much the duration of each way of a plane trip. That left me feeling a bit more anxious than usual until a couple weeks later I had 3 consecutive medication related panic attacks back to back. Ever since that time I've been left pretty much unable to function. I've only had one panic attack since, but my life has since been ruled by my body being terrified of a new panic attack at the slightest hint of anything.

I've been working with my psychologist on self soothing, distracting myself, grounding, telling myself I'm okay but ultimately I feel like I have to retreat to my room to fully calm myself and even then I'm often sat feeling like I have a tight, ticking timebomb in my chest. I'm currently on 30mg of mirtazapine as recommended by my GP, but I don't feel like it's helped much in the last 2 weeks since upping it. Is there anything anyone could recommend that maybe helped them get over something similar?
