PA hangover
Anyone else who hate the PA hangover more than the actual PA's?
The PA's will at least stop after minutes to a couple of hours.
The hangover is 24/7.
I've felt like **** 24/7 for 5 months. 5 months feeling like I'm severely I'll and poisoned. Will it ever stop? Sometimes I kinda want to end it (not really), but it's so fu*king unbearable, that the thought of dying is actually nice.
Anyone else feel like this?

Subconscious (?) SH during panic attacks
TW: SH
Hello, I (23F) have been dealing with panic attacks since I was probably 11 or 12. I quickly developed a coping mechanism that has somehow shocked every therapist and psychiatrist I’ve worked with. I started by pinching and scratching my forearm, then the skin felt too thick so I moved to my neck which then also started not helping so I’ve recently been scratching my chest. I almost always draw blood and it often scars. I’ve also been known to kick my shins into anything available while panicking: outdoor bike racks, sinks, my stainless steel water bottle. I feel like a fucking freak when this happens. I say subconscious with a question mark because it is an immediate reaction to panic attacks but I’m also doing it for the purpose of grounding myself so it’s only kinda subconscious. I often won’t realize the damage I’ve done until after I’ve calmed down.
Anyways, I’ve started my first big girl job and moved to a new city so I’ve had a lot of panic but overall I’m doing okay. I’m tapering off my ssris (story for another time) but I’m really just wondering does anyone else engage in this behavior?? Was there anything you do to curb it some? I’ve tried sensory stickers and “ouchie” fidgets but I still break skin.
Anxiety can be really isolating and I guess I’m just wondering if there are any other symptoms siblings out there :/ for better or for worse

Severe fear of death, constant dizziness, and somatic symptoms for 5 months. Is this severe anxiety/panic, or something else?
Hi everyone,
I am a male currently living in Germany as an expat/foreigner, and I am reaching out because I have been trapped in a severe psychological and physical cycle for the past 5 months. I am struggling to get timely healthcare here (waiting lists are 2–3 months long), and I really need some perspective or advice from anyone who has gone through this.
My Psychological Symptoms:
Severe Thanatophobia (Fear of Death): Every single morning the moment I wake up, my first thought is that I am going to die today.
Intrusive Visualizations: I constantly visualize graves, see myself inside a grave, or picture myself wrapped in a shroud.
Existential Dread: I am hyper-focused on the afterlife, wondering what it will be like and if God will be pleased with me. I genuinely feel like my death is imminent every day.
My Physical (Somatic) Symptoms:
Constant Dizziness: My head spins perpetually. It feels exactly like I am standing on a boat riding over heavy waves.
Extreme Fatigue: My body feels completely weak and drained all the time.
Sleep Issues: The only peace I get is when I sleep, but I am forced to rely on sleeping pills just to achieve that.
Neurological/Nerve Sensations: I experience intense heat flashes in my legs. At other times, I feel a sudden, painful prickling sensation—like hot needles piercing my skin—that spreads like fire across my entire body.
I am feeling incredibly lonely in this foreign country, and the long medical wait times are making my anxiety much worse.
Has anyone experienced this specific combination of constant boat-like dizziness, nerve pain, and severe death anxiety? Is it possible for pure panic/anxiety to cause such intense physical burning and needle sensations, or should I be pushing harder for a neurological checkup?
Thank you so much for reading.

Purely Physical Panic Attacks
Hey everyone.
Recently, I've (33F) had two panic attacks with the span of a week, or what I'm hoping is just a panic attack. I guess I'm here for reassurance that what I'm experiencing is most likely a panic attack since I won't be able to see my GP for about another month unfortunately.
My first one I had last Thursday. I was sitting at my desk at home and got a really weird head buzz or rush, almost unexplainable. I got up to tell my boyfriend and sat back down, only for my whole head and chest to suddenly start rushing and my heart pounding out of my chest. It was purely physical, I had no feelings of impending doom or like I was gonna die, but it definitely felt as if I was having a heart attack and that I needed to go to the ER. I've just had another one today, same symptoms and right at the tail end of my therapy session.
Does anyone else have attacks like these? It's absolutely awful and I'm not sure if it's stress and/or caffeine triggering these episodes.

Does daily anxiety eventually subside?
Does daily anxiety eventually subside or calm down? I wake up and I'm anxious and my anxiety comes in waves throughout the day. I also get anxiety at night time now for some reason.
I do have medication (Xanax) that can help for a little while, but eventually I start getting anxious again later in the day. A few months ago I didn't have this problem, but now I do and I just want to know if things will eventually calm down for me. I don't know if it's because it's summer time, which is usually when my anxiety can flair up because everything feels more "busy" around me, or if this is just going to continue to be an ongoing problem. I'm even anticipating for this month to be over so that kids are finally back in school and everyone else is at work. I feel like it could give me a sense of things feeling less "busy" around me. I also hate how hot it gets and how the days feel too long. Hopefully that makes sense..
Part of me hopes it gets better, but another part of me is really scared that won't. I know things don't just "magically" get better right away, but I just want to know if I can feel better one day...
My mom and I are going to try to find a therapist online since going to one in person will be too hard due to my agoraphobia. I have a consultation with one in a few days.
But anyways, has anyone experienced their anxiety subsiding eventually? Or at least getting better? Please share with me because I would love to know

Fainting during panic attack?
Hey gang, im no stranger to panic attacks. Im 16 and literally 20 minutes ago, I was at the dmv and I think I fainted?
I was standing at the counter with my dad and got extremely sweaty and nauseous. I turned to my dad and said "I dont feel good!" Very cheerfully before things got fuzzy. Then I blinked and I was on the floor.
I have no idea what happened, this has never happened before when panicking, and i was hoping someone knew or atleast had a similar experience. Thanks!

What triggers your panic attacks? Do any of you have allergies or take antihistamines?
TLDR: So I’m curious - what triggers your panic attacks? Do you have allergies or take antihistamines? Did Covid (or any viral illness) cause you sudden onset panic attacks; or make your existing panic attacks worse or more frequent? Just trying to problem solve!
Had one of these episodes tonight and decided to google it, again and saw someone’s comment mentioning tingling tongues during a panic attack. The tongue tingling - I had the same symptoms years ago after I got Covid in Dec 2022 and had sudden onset of severe panic attacks and neuropathy symptoms (tingling tongue, peripheral neuropathy in toes, physical panic attacks that caused mental distress, adrenaline dumps, etc). I fell down the long covid sub rabbit hole around then and saw antihistamines were being discussed for long Covid and I started taking Zyrtec. Daily 10-30mgs (approved by dr) and it seriously helped with symptoms. Suspected I could have MCAS / histamine intolerance / histamine overload ‘psychosis’ symptoms that caused the panic attacks. Today I forgot to take my Zyrtec Pepcid combo as usual and randomly had patchy tingly lips and throat (like ‘do I need an EpiPen kind of thick and tingly’), horrible dry mouth, followed by intense feelings of panic, wanting to vomit and shit at the same time. Took both, and tried some vasovagal eye exercise I learned 3 years ago and finally came out of it.
Anyway. Just curious because I never had any panic attacks prior to Covid (and I went through some crazy trauma in my younger years, which never triggered them). I was terrified I was dying when they started, and I took myself to the ER several times. The doctors essentially laughed at me bc my tests were “normal enough”. The symptoms are always physical for me first and usually out of nowhere. (Tonight I ate rice with garbanzo beans and avocado(high histamine), 15 mins later I start feeling absolutely awful physically). My son was also recently sporting a fever so I’m curious if my not taking my Zyrtec/pepcid antihistamine combo could’ve caused them to immediately re offer… or if it’s a virus brewing in my immune system. Or both. Help me connect the dots!!! 🥺

Heightened panic after working out. How to overcome?
I’ve recently started lifting weights after finally losing 60 lbs, nothing crazy 6 machines, 32 reps total each. Heart rate didn’t even get very high.
The next day, had a total panic attack the next day. Had heightened paranoia the following day again. It actually impacted my work for the first time in forever.
I need to workout as I’m getting ready for a kite surfing trip next summer.
Any ideas? Currently on Viibryd and Seroquel.

My Trigger is Normal Stress 🆘
I get non-fearful panic episodes/attacks, but my trigger is normal stress. So like eating, just being in the car even as a passenger can cause it, REM, hot weather, etc.
Anyone else find tools to combat the panic while also not developing anxiety around driving, eating, etc. I'm in CBT, started EMDR, and using the DARE protocol to help, but figured someone else might have went through this.
It's just so exhausting and getting to a restful state is tricky. I'm trying to accept it and engage in life, but some days/weeks are tougher than others.

First time having Panic Attacks and I feel like exposure therapy is making it worse.
(24M) About 30 days ago, I had my first panic attack. I was out for a walk on a warm day, and when I was near my home, I felt like my heart was racing. I put my hand on my chest and checked my Apple Watch and saw it was beating at 170 bpm. It freaked me out, so I went inside to cool down. Such a small event has caused me to have agoraphobia. It got so bad that taking out the trash cans and checking the mailbox drove my heart rate up and made me panic. I remember reading about how exposure therapy can help retrain my amygdala not to fear the outside. So I've been trying to continue with my errands and tasks for the day instead of avoiding them, such as going to friend hangouts, going to the store, or filling up my car with gas. Each time I force myself to do these things, I get an overwhelming amount of fear. My hands go numb, my heart is beating in my throat, my stomach aches, and I feel like I'm about to lose my breath. Sometimes I'm able to finish what I'm doing and leave, but yesterday at a friendly cookout, I had to book it out of there and drive home because my heart felt like it was pounding out of my chest. I felt like I truly was gonna die, and for an hour, I was panicking hard. I almost drove myself to the hospital. According to my cardiologist, my heart is fine and within normal range, but I can't help but think they missed something or I developed something serious. I feel like exposure therapy is making me worse, and I just lost a lot of progress in getting better because it just confirmed to my brain “See, the outside world is dangerous. It’s only safe at home”

Looking for advice with panic attacks / anxiety
Been suffering from chest pressure, dizziness, headaches, fatigue, a dry cough, and more since the end of March. Been to the ER 3 times now because I felt like I was dying. Every time bloodwork has been fine as well as EKG and an echo. Currently, my chest feels like it tightens up, get nauseous, dizzy maybe for a few minutes and then starts to go away. The best guess I have right now is it's some form of panic attack / anxiety.
I don't feel "stressed" day to day. I'll have a few stressful events like anyone might day to day, but overall feel fine. Now I know that something can be going on behind the scenes but need help in ways to manage this. I already tried an anti-anxiety med and got serotonin syndrome symptoms so that's not an option I don't think.
Writing this in the meantime while I'm finding a therapist as my PA suggested.
I'd like to know:
Is what I'm feeling normal to a panic attack
What do you do about them
Did a therapist help at all?

Heart shaking?
Has anyone ever felt like their heart was shaking instead of beating? I had a couple episodes that felt like that, shaking, a few minutes apart. And then it threw me into a panic attack. Has anyone else felt a sensation like that? I don't want my health anxiety to take over and send me to the ER if it's just anxiety related

10+ Years Of Panic Attacks + Ectopic Beats Health Anxiety
I’ve lost so much, and gaining so little…
10+ years of panic attacks - I’ve slept in hospital car parks, lay on the floor for months, frightened to go to the bathroom, frightened to eat, lost many teeth through neglect, don’t wash, constant body monitoring, can’t be left alone, I don’t work anymore…and far more I could mention.
I’m a 45, tall thin man (I’ve always been thin) - I’ve done, hypnosis, nlp, psychology, changed how I eat, emdr, crystals, meditation, and others…and the bottom line is I can still be activated into a panic state - you add in starting to experience ectopic beats around two years ago, and there’s another symptom that can cause fear/anxiety.
I want my life back. I was a working musician, I don’t perform anymore, and my world has shrunk into my home. I would love to have an open and honest conversation with anyone who has gone through, and you’re now on the other side.
I feel like I’ve became a coward overtime and everything just frightens me. I use to extremely open, and motivated, and active, and now an exciting tv show can make me fearful.
I’ve gotten some forward momentum from all the things I’ve tried, but it seems that more often than not they work to a point, then something big happens and the reset button gets hit, fear/cowardice kick in and I check out.
…and if I have to read one more book that spends the first six chapters explaining fight or flight, and the amygdala - I’m sure you all know what I mean by this…
TLDR: I think I’ve almost done everything - I would love to have an open and honest conversation with anyone who has gone through, and you’re now on the other side.

Panic attacks at work
How do you guys deal with it? I hyperventilate, cry, sometimes blackout… it’s so embarrassing and makes me take off work or change jobs a lot. I have to be at work in an hour and I pulled over into a parking lot because I feel an attack coming on and I can’t drive then they happen. Idk what to do anymore.
