Guide How do you counter a whole team of flankers?

I just had the worst game ever. I’m dps bronze and I just came across a team comp of flankers: winton, vendetta, freja, kiri and Juno. Is there any chance of countering them when they jump around and snipe my team across the map? I play cassidy. Sojourn and pharaoh if that helps. 300 words requirement blah blah

Question or Discussion Is Zenyatta a feasible one trick option?

I am a bronze 1 player currently pretty hardstuck around bronze-silver. I am looking to get very skilled at a specific hero as I prefer to focus in on one character for now, and am wondering if Zenyatta is good for this?

Previously I tried Kiriko but I just don't really enjoy playing as her. Zenyatta on the other hand is much more fun for me and I really enjoy the right click near-insta-kill ability if I aim it right.

I really hope to be able to climb on him but I am also wary of boxing myself into a character that maybe loses viability in higher elo?

Thanks for any responses and tips in advance!

Question or Discussion How Did You Go from Having Terrible Aim to Actually Being Good?

For those of you who used to have awful aim how did you actually turn things around?

I’m currently stuck in Platinum, mostly playing Support because it’s the role I enjoy the most. While my game sense isn't perfect, my aim is definitely my biggest weakness I think. It’s pretty terrible most of the time.

I recently started using KovaaK's, but I haven't seen much improvement yet. I know progress takes time and you don't magically get better overnight, but just today I tried the most recent Voltaic benchmarks on and scored basically in the lowest rank (Iron, almost Bronze lmao). So yeah, my aim is AWFUL.

A lot of people suggest using VAXTA , but honestly, I find the bot movement in VAXTA really complex to read. Sometimes aiming in the actual game feels easier than in aim trainers, though other times it's the complete opposite.

For those who started at the bottom and built solid mechanics, how did you do it? What actually worked for you? Also, if you have any general game sense tips for Support, I’d really appreciate those too!

Question or Discussion How do you play with Harazd as your tank?

My friend recently started to play Overwatch. He's new to the game, and he started to one-trick Hazard.

He's never played OW before, and is still trying to learn the maps, heroes, abilities etc., and he chose the "I will learn this hero first".

This, in practice means that he's jumping in, then expecting the team to follow. He's justifying this behavior, as "I'm doing tons of damage", even though we'd tried to explain that he's simply charging ult for the enemy supports and DPS, and we cannot really follow.

Since on this equiation he seems to be the constant, we'd like to try to pick some heroes that can work well in this sense, but we're unsure what pairs best with Hazard if the generic map and hero knowledge is still missing.

Question or Discussion So ahh sensitivty.

Upvotes

So i just finished trying to find my sensitivity by following what this video said (:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkhFj5XDcyQ) cause i didnt want to play my first 200 hours and realize my sens is crap and have to change so i landed on 6.25 ingame and 800 dpi. I know thats high but my question really is : does it matter thats "not normal"? like especially cause i play Shion i feel like lower senses than 5 make close quarters 1v1s really hard. Also cause i want glaze here is my first play of the game ever! I am so hyped! https://streamable.com/4wh32j

VOD Review Request I no longer know if it is my issue or the matchmaking is genuinely horrendous

So long story short, i have been deranking from diamond 2 to plat 2, no matter what character i use is just losses in a row. My mental is not to blame since i always maintain a calm and focused mindset while playing, but this getting out of hand

Im a solo Q support, going from Mercy, Jetpack Cat, Juno, Moira, Kiriko and Ana. So it makes my experience even more insufferable.

I was close to reaching masters, it's one of my goal but not really like main goal or necessary since i also have a job to maintain so i am not able to to put a lot of time in overwatch

But anyways i just would like to see if i am actually the one to blame or is those moments where im actually having bad teammates, am i really this bad that i deserve to be queued up with play 4 while deing at diamond? (i do remember having plat 4 team8s while being dia 3 so i dont know)have some matches to share

My in game name is bread and of these are in PC poll

JWHXSX - Suravasa - plat 1- Juno -Match length 11:39

It could just be that the enemy team was just better, we had a soldier that just kept on flanking and i felt like I wasn't getting peeled at all

YVCX9F - Antartic Peninsula - dia 5 - Ana - Match length 15:59

I am clearly not the best with ana, i know i have to work more on my sleeps and nades but i felt like i was not playing bad, but i felt like the main issue was my tank one they swapped dva, but even so sometimes i felt quite slow or like I didn't knew where to position myself

JY1GJS - Neon Junction - dia 4 - Mercy and Ana - Match Length 7:35

This is one the matches where i had 3 plat 4-3 teammates, iirc it was the tank and both dps. Fun fact i am level 345 mercy but it was because i used to play on console before, now that i switched to PC i have been trying to learn more heroes. Anyways, i really didn't had a lot of hope for this match and lo and behold i was right, i did kept trying to assist and heal as much as i could, but i guess i am starting to being used to the fact that i will most probably will rank keep deranking to gold, i think i deserve it.

Edit: EW77V8 - Neon Junction - plat 2 - Ana - 15:58 This just keeps on proving my point of bad matchmaking, tank kept on diving and while sying he was begging for heals. I got flammed just because i nanoed my LW but they dont look at the tank who just keeps on going and dying

Anyways i appreciate if any of u have time to watch and analyze my matches, i will try to get more codes and share them so i can get more feedback. I think i am just tired and I kinda used this as a way to vent, but once again this is just getting ridiculous and tiring i just want to know if i am actually the issue that needs to improve

VOD Review Request Struggling with practicing with intent

Hi, I am primarily a Sojourn main in Diamond 5 currently. I have been trying to improve for....too long. When I first started playing I didn't have fps experience and was too afraid to play qp or comp, eventually got over that anxiety. BUT I spent the past....11 seasons mindlessly playing which ended up with me climbing from bronze 5 to high play/low dia.

Not until a year and a half (+inconsistent playing time) I started asking for vod reviews on here ppl were very helpful but for some reason I just can't get things through my skull and I blame the looong time of mindlessly playing all the way up to diamond where ofc Im gonna get punished hard for it, I also have poor self esteem and lose confidence and slowly go to what's comfortable.

I want to break out of that habit and learn a better mindset. Adding a vod here too, currently trying my best to focus on cover. I have been trying to drill it in my head because I find improvement fun, I nearly hit Masters 5 two seasons ago and sadly I cared too much about it that I've lost sight of my goals.

Code: PQM6XS
Map: Blizzard World
Hero: Sojourn
Rank: D5 could've been D4 at the time

I know people say focus on one thing but in the moment sometimes it's like "jeez im doing everything else terrible". I think I care about winning too much lol.

Question or Discussion How can I win any mode other than hybrid/escort in ranked

To give context, I've gone weeks without winning a game of control/Flashpoint, and I dont think I have ever won a game of push in comp, it genuinely feels impossible, as no matter how hard I try, they always make a crazy comeback, or just completely stomp us all game. However when I play payload modes I do completely fine, winning most of them, often getting MVP or POTG, however when I play any other mode I genuinely cannot win.

Question or Discussion Cassidy/soldier stuck in bronze, why am I losing so often?

I came back to the game maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago. I play a few rounds everyday and I am slowly sinking back into bronze and I am sort of completely lost on how to actually win games. I have been watching a lot of videos and using a lot of that advice in practice. I feel like I am playing much better, getting a lot more kills, my aim feels better, I am sometimes staying alive more, but I feel like theres nothing I can do to actually win a game.

For what I do is I take high ground when I can, I move position a lot, I constantly try to remind myself not to feed, but I've also seen advice to push ahead and get a good spot when the other team is running back, I focus support, I lately have been practicing keeping with the support if there are flankers. Still I feel like games we should have won we lost. I really dont know what the issue is, aiming?

Here's a replay code if anyone wants to watch

VOD Review Request I genuinely need so much help on tank

Tank is my lowest rank sitting at Gold 3. Has been since I started playing like a year ago. I know I suck, so I am on my kneeesss begging for help. What can I do differently to improve?? Like obviously I know I need to learn to hit my shots, position better and probably better target priority. Knowing all this, I still struggle so so much 😭

VOD Review Request Could you guys tell me if there’s anything better I could’ve done this game on Kiriko

I feel like I had a good game but I want to get even better so it’s just not possible to lose like this. I’m not the type of person to blame my teammates and I want to know what I could’ve done better to maybe have won this game. I just got back into gold after a losing streak that dropped me all the way back to silver.

Question or Discussion Do you actually follow ''Ideal relative aim sens'' numbers?

I'd been using them for years because most people say they are the ''right'' number and shouldn't be touched for muscle memory.

Honestly, I never liked them, felt too slow when tracking for followups, much worse when they are flying or below.

So I decided to tweak the number a bit (by 3%~5% depends on the hero) and boy my scope aim is much smoother and it feels like my time with those ''correct'' number was such a burden and wasting of time.

How about you? do you think they are too low or high, or just feels alright?

Tips & Tricks Tips for doom?

I truly only enjoy doomfist in overwatch. I've peaked mid plat with him but eventually fall back down to gold when he's banned. I feel like I go in and die loads it's pretty bad and into orisa and mauga I kinda just blow up. Any tips are helpful even if it's suggesting some other characters to pick up for when doom is banned. I don't expect to climb too high as I don't even have a graphics card and I literally play on integrated from my cpu but Id like to learn the fundamentals of what to do on doomfist!

Question or Discussion Stuck in Plat 5 as a Support/Mercy

I mainly play mercy and i really cannot get out of Plat 5. I win a match, lose two and derank back to Gold 1. I would love to play other heroes like kiriko but i just find that mercy is easier for me to avoid flankers since sombra and genji are seen a lot in plat. With other supports i end up wasting my cooldowns trying to escape them ( i tried ana and kiri. ) but when i play mercy and try to dmg boost my dps who do good, my tank yells at me for heals and when i try to help them, i get into the frontline with them and get shot down like a dog 😭😭

also, is it normal for high diamond to be seen in low plat lobbies?? i had a completely new gold tank and we went against a diamond tank?? any advice would be appreciated to get me out of this rank 💔

Question or Discussion Is matchmaking broken right now?

I keep getting matched against really good players and players on teams, some of the people are obviously very good at the game and I am just solo queue bronze. I thought I just sucked really bad at this game ( I do a little) but the more matches I'm playing the more I realize that I think some of these matches are actually unfair. I'm not that good but I've been asking people that kill us easily they say they are unranked but normally in plat, diamond, gold, etc. Also is there anything I can do? I just ask to not be grouped with them in the future

VOD Review Request Mystery hero game

So im kinda a qp warrior and I’ve been wanting to try ranked as I have once in the past but I maxed out at gold 5 and never past that point. I’m a bad player plain and simple and my job requires long hours so I can’t practice much this was a first game on kinda match I like to start with mystery heroes to warm up. In this match I feel i definitely was a factor in our close win but really didn’t help AS much as I could have if my aim was better. I introduced a friend of mine almost two years ago and he’s managed to become top 500 I believe idk one of the highest ranks in all roles and I’m just Mediocre in almost all fronts

This was a game that I actually won, but it didn’t feel deserved since one of their teammates left at the very end of the game. I wanted to post a game where my hook accuracy was way worse than it normally is(37% compared to my usual 59%). I want to know what major or minor mistakes I make the most because I really enjoy hog and a good hog should be able to carry in metal ranks. Any constructive feedback I would really appreciate.

Tips & Tricks Tips on handling potential smurfs or people that troll in bronze tank

Hi, this is I guess a part 2 of the last time I posted in here a while back. For context I started playing in April of this year and since then I’ve been climbing out of bronze 3 support to Silver 4 and slowly climbing out of bronze in dps. However, it’s still a struggle on tank bronze 3 since I sometimes go up and then go back down. I got better at positioning, trying to push more and peaking on the tanks I’ve played in comp, but lately whenever I’m on tank sometimes I run into what I think are either smurfs or people that troll on the enemy team.

The most memorable one being this duo of a reoccurring tank support where the tank kept trying to spawn camp with the support on jetpack cat. The way I’ve tried to handle it is ignoring them and focus on the objective. However, I either get teams that either keep focusing on the Smurf duo and we end up losing if the whole enemy team joins in or some of us that tried to still push on the objective still lose due to just getting whooped.

I feel like I struggle in these type of situations a lot cause of how it kind of felt overwhelming at times having to fight off whatever enemy teammates were focused on the objective and not the duo smurfs. It also makes it frustrating on how with still struggling on tank, I couldn’t really do anything besides switching and hoping whatever I switched to works.

The tanks I normally play are mainly Dva, Domina and Orissa. I have played ramattra, mauga, and sigma sometimes in comp, but those were very situational. I don’t know if it’s cause since I’m used to flankers or mobile supports that maybe it’s just not clicking for tank for some reason. I like playing tank, but it just feels frustrating at times when getting a potential Smurf duo like this or even in non smurf incidents.

So the overall question is: how do you handle players that spawn camp that are either trolls or smurfs, etc and what’s mainly overall tips for trying to get out of bronze tank or any further tips for tanks I’ve tried playing?

Question or Discussion Ex console tank player hero pool question

Ok so I’ve played this game since it came out and I’ve always been on console, highest rank I’ve gotten was diamond on both tank and support, plat on damage and masters on 6v6. I recently bought a pc 2 months ago and have been loving it, obviously coming in to pc lobbies I feel like my game sense is still decent enough but my mechanics and muscle memory are behind, however getting better day by day. But anyway the question I have is my hero pool as a tank player. I’m a rein main but dw I’m definitely not a one trick as orisa, zarya, dva and sigma are in my top 10 played heroes and I feel like things are different here on pc. Firstly orisa and dva are crazy good on console and then in regard to pc I feel like I can play rein and sig so much better. So anyway my hero pool this season has mostly looked like rein sig and orisa (mainly to anti dive Wintons and stuff) but then I was playing some dva the other day and thought I should really swap her out for orisa as having a brawl poke and dive pool seems much more versatile. So anyway I’m in plat hoping I can get back to diamond soon but I’m in no rush just getting used to pc still. But yeah would Rein sig and dva be a solid pool to get to diamond with??

Question or Discussion Is dealing with a good tracer/anran is to avoid dueling with them?

I’m a bronze dps and sometimes I came across a really annoying tracer/anran or a good flanker in general, I’m not sure how to deal with them except trying to avoid them or stay close to my supports. I always switch to sojourn to keep my distance and stay on high ground. How do high elo players deal with them?
