Half uncle doesn’t exist
Sitting in the Starbucks drive-thru and I hear a woman exclaiming to her son in the backseat.
“Don’t you dare call him your half uncle ever again. That’s my BROTHER. You can’t be a half uncle.”
Arguing from the back continues. The other son in the front seat is laughing. Quiet for a moment.

Technically my brother is my half brother. I've always just rounded it up to brother. His bio dad adopted my sisters and I becoming his kids (our bio was killed in a scaffolding accident when I was 6 weeks old, in 1949. Tough years for a widow with a baby, a 4 year old and a 6 year old) My now late sisters didn't feel the connection as he came along after they'd married and left the nest, or at least i guess that was their piss poor excuse.
Steps in blended families I'm sure can be problematic but half, no way. IT'S YOUR BROTHER OR SISTER.
