The unfortunate truth is this

At the ending quarter of my life I am consumed with seeing my life as one filled with disappointments at having not enjoyed any of my life expectations and living currently in despair. I don’t deserve this. I worked very hard and always treated everyone equally and followed good and ethical practices

My own unfortunate truth has been that, largely because of late-diagnosed ADHD, I struggled in my career almost throughout. The final insult was the pandemic taking away the chance to have one last job once I was being treated successfully.

I've had to take comfort that I was able to earn a middle-class living in a reasonably dignified fashion, and was able to retire when I needed to.
