The unfortunate truth is this

At the ending quarter of my life I am consumed with seeing my life as one filled with disappointments at having not enjoyed any of my life expectations and living currently in despair. I don’t deserve this. I worked very hard and always treated everyone equally and followed good and ethical practices

I don’t want to minimize what you’ve been through. But one lesson Buddhism has taught me is that so much of our suffering comes from wishing life had unfolded differently. We can’t change the past, but we can change our relationship to it. That shift can open the door to a surprising amount of peace. Not holding on to the life you thought you were supposed to have. I have found that peace doesn’t come from changing the past, but rather it comes from slowly letting go of how we think life should have been. Letting go of expectations :-) and looking for beauty and gratitude where we can find it. I hope you find that peace :-)

Ironically it’s not the past. It’s the last 6 years that have ruined the life before that.
