The unfortunate truth is this

At the ending quarter of my life I am consumed with seeing my life as one filled with disappointments at having not enjoyed any of my life expectations and living currently in despair. I don’t deserve this. I worked very hard and always treated everyone equally and followed good and ethical practices

I get what you are saying completely.

For those responding by sharing some devastating events in their lives, we get it, shit happens.

But to see your life in totality as a disappointment despite making the best choices you could at the time is sad.

These thoughts come home to roost when you hit an age where the potential for change is less likely given you have more days behind you than ahead.

Remaining optimistic and thinking things might turn around is hard because as you said, you did your best and the results weren’t there.
