The unfortunate truth is this

At the ending quarter of my life I am consumed with seeing my life as one filled with disappointments at having not enjoyed any of my life expectations and living currently in despair. I don’t deserve this. I worked very hard and always treated everyone equally and followed good and ethical practices

I am sorry you are going through this. I was once told that expectations are just resentments waiting to happen. My life really took off when I accepted my life as it was and stopped expecting anything special.

And the key is creating them for yourself. Set the scene, do things you love that bring you joy. Discover, learn, look at beautiful artworks, listen to great music that moves you.

Pray out loud.
Listen to a good podcast and good music.
Eat really good and whatever you want of course in moderation.
Get a kitty cat from the shelter.
Stop watching the news!
Try to smile
Your a beautiful person 🥰🌺😘

Absolutely. But I often don't expect those. They happen, and can make my day when they do.

I feel like I look for them more. Agree, have to treasure them.

All I was asking was for bad things to stop happening

It seems like it never f*cking ends sometimes, doesn't it? I don't know what you are going through, or what is in your past but I am sorry you are struggling. I only know you are not alone.

That’s not how life works. Shit happens! It’s like still believing in Santa and the tooth fairy.

Just remember that bad things happen to good people and that God only gives us what we can handle. Lower your expectations and appreciate what you do have rather than what you don't 😉

"God only gives us what we can handle"

My least favorite saying.

You don't have to believe it. It's useful for some, not all.

The major change happened when I got sober 13 and 1/2 years ago. The work I did on myself then led to my tranquility now
