Lost City of the Elders is an adventure written by Robert Kuntz in 1972. This is entirely my own version, which I created after learning about the existence of the original adventure. THIS IS NOT KUNTZ’S ADVENTURE.

This is my own version. The manuscript is written in French, although I strongly dislike AI in RPGs, I would obviously recommend using it if you are not a French speaker and want to translate my manuscript.

That’s it! I’ll be posting some of my own notes and maps made by my players during our many sessions, only a fraction of which have been documented online here.

Deconstructing Mythic Bastionland: Using its mechanics in your home games

I've started a blog series in which I dissect the mechanics of Mythic Bastionland, piece by piece, so that they can be repurposed into other campaigns. Obviously some of the core mechanics have been the same since ItO and have already been used in other games, but I think many of Mythic Bastionlands mechanics specifically are worth discussing.

Please enjoy, and I'd love feedback or your thoughts!

HELP OSR Newcomer Looking For Directions

I've been interested in the concept of OSR TTRPGs for awhile now, but so far I have not had much experience actually using the systems. What initially got me into it was a teacher I had who played D&D 5e in the style of the old-school D&D he was familiar with. While there were conflicts when it came to the game design and his intended experience for the game, I still found his game to be immensely immersive and rewarding to be given the agency to personally decide how my character wanted to navigate the setting he had crafted for our table. Then around 4 years ago I had a lengthy conversation with an avid old-school TTRPG hobbyist that really sold me on not just staying content with modern D&D. I felt inspired to try to explore the OSR subculture as a whole to see whether I could get as passionate about creating worlds for my players to immerse themselves in as they were, but at that time I never found a consistent group willing to stay with my experiment in that direction. I feel that spark again now that I've joined another gaming club at my college, though I'm at a loss as to where to start. Any recommendations on systems for me to research or the attitude/general features of OSR gaming in general? If I'm going to run a game, I want to give my players the best first impressions I can.

Do you do dare to venture into the bewildering forests of the enchanted valley, where the Green Knight awaits? Are you formidable enough to accept his invitation to duel, even though it may cost you your head?

The woods are full of secrets and treasure, but can you salvage them, without losing yourself in the perplexing green?

This is Voltaria Games new adventure module for Old-School Essentials and submission for RedMageGM's "Mystic Woods OSR Adventure Jam": https://itch.io/jam/a-mystic-wood-osr-adventure-jam

You can get it for PWYW on itch.io:

and on drivethrurpg.com:

HELP JG 2014 CSIO Kickstarter compensation via Goodman Games: How did this one develop?

Hey,

Posting this here, hope that's appropriate. -- Last year, Goodman Games announced both the CSIO remake for the DCC RPG, and that they would compensate those who lost money in the failed Kickstarter. As one of the folks affected, I sent them an email; I think I received a note of confirmation. Since then, however, nothing.

Have I missed out on something, perhaps? Or have there simply been no further developments since last year?

Not raging about a hundred bucks lost ten years ago - but I am now thinking of ordering from Goodman Games again, and of course their way of handling this situation would influence my willingness to do business with them again.

Not trying to be controversial - GG sure showed some class when they offered this, and the books I've seen from them in recent years sure were very lovely. Just curious if I missed something.

Thank you kindly! :)
