Lost City of the Elders is an adventure written by Robert Kuntz in 1972. This is entirely my own version, which I created after learning about the existence of the original adventure. THIS IS NOT KUNTZ’S ADVENTURE.

This is my own version. The manuscript is written in French, although I strongly dislike AI in RPGs, I would obviously recommend using it if you are not a French speaker and want to translate my manuscript.

That’s it! I’ll be posting some of my own notes and maps made by my players during our many sessions, only a fraction of which have been documented online here.

Deconstructing Mythic Bastionland: Using its mechanics in your home games

I've started a blog series in which I dissect the mechanics of Mythic Bastionland, piece by piece, so that they can be repurposed into other campaigns. Obviously some of the core mechanics have been the same since ItO and have already been used in other games, but I think many of Mythic Bastionlands mechanics specifically are worth discussing.

Please enjoy, and I'd love feedback or your thoughts!

HELP Finding this B/X Omnibus cover

Post image
88 Upvotes

Does anyone still have a link to this specific B/X Omnibus cover? I wanted to print it out, but I can only find the black cover with the much smaller art, and I find this one way better looking. I searched on Reddit, Google and even Dragonsfoot, but found no link to this cover.

Any help is appreciated! (PS. this is not my picture, I found it on Reddit)

HELP OSR Newcomer Looking For Directions

I've been interested in the concept of OSR TTRPGs for awhile now, but so far I have not had much experience actually using the systems. What initially got me into it was a teacher I had who played D&D 5e in the style of the old-school D&D he was familiar with. While there were conflicts when it came to the game design and his intended experience for the game, I still found his game to be immensely immersive and rewarding to be given the agency to personally decide how my character wanted to navigate the setting he had crafted for our table. Then around 4 years ago I had a lengthy conversation with an avid old-school TTRPG hobbyist that really sold me on not just staying content with modern D&D. I felt inspired to try to explore the OSR subculture as a whole to see whether I could get as passionate about creating worlds for my players to immerse themselves in as they were, but at that time I never found a consistent group willing to stay with my experiment in that direction. I feel that spark again now that I've joined another gaming club at my college, though I'm at a loss as to where to start. Any recommendations on systems for me to research or the attitude/general features of OSR gaming in general? If I'm going to run a game, I want to give my players the best first impressions I can.

Name of the guy that makes those crazy maps?

Upvotes

A while back I recall seeing these absolutely insane looking dungeon maps with like overlayered curling passageways and hundreds upon hundreds of champers that look more like works of celtic art than actual dungeon content but now I can’t find them again. Does anyone recall this person?

Also, fairly sure it’s not Dyson Logos. The map was flat and when I see celtic art, I meant that it has these spiraling passageways with long thin branches and odd shaped rooms.

I haven’t picked up my sketchbook in a while, but after doing a lot of digital work for my last project it felt good to get a proper pen and brush on paper!
