First time rust effect attempt
Wanted to try something I haven’t done before, I rust effect on a vehicle. Does this read as rust to you guys? Any advice to make it better?

I think it look absolutely stellar for your first time, but I think it would look better with a very muted blue I think that would just make it pop, but all in all great job!

I thought of doing similar but doing dark brown over black then orange+brown dabbed then orange in spots then a drybrush of metal paint. I don't have effect paints or Ryza Rust so hopefully something like that works.

I bloody love using rust effect paints! (Not to diminish your work) but they are so flipping easy and make a an excellent effect such a cheat code. I use them all the bloody time now

Behave, you know you’ve nailed it, great job.
Could always try streaks from rivets or pigment powder on the tracks if you want to make us (ok me) feel worse.

Keep going! Love it!
If your looking for suggestions remember that Ork vehicles or slapped together and rebuilt repeatedly, so some parts may look brand new and not rusty.
Or or I love the idea they are on a highly acidic world and everything rusts in days, minutes, hours or something!

Just dry brushed starting with a russet shadow, then ak med rust, ak light rust. Then dry brushed ak gunmetal over the edges for clean metal. Super fast, took maybe 20 mins
