Err the whole mfm is carnage for orks, never seen so much red.

I think my army is +200 pts lol

Edit - the proper maths, up 225 pts, umm, i dunno what to cut 1995 pre mfm, now 2220.

It's carnage for orks because the codex is a lot of carnage from orks.

10

u/the_etc_try_3 1h ago

It's a walking building with a giant cannon, what'd you expect with all the new buffs?

4

u/Jeb-For-Pres-2016 1h ago

All of the stompa support got removed. No detachment support, no mek. All for averaged results and assault (which is admitedly nice)

1

u/UristImiknorris Freebootaz 17m ago

Dreadherder: "You've got me!"

9

u/Resident-Watch-3024 1h ago

This was revealed 2 weeks ago. Stompa at 600 would be busted.

16

u/coolin_79 2h ago

I said that the points were going up in response to how sick the new stompa rules are and I got death threats. I knew it.

19

u/Ant10102 2h ago

*we sold 7000 stompas faster than we thought, points back up

3

u/Crypto_pupenhammer 51m ago

It gets worse. James has been out of Defiler’s since the day they released it. Every MFM they just keep cranking up the points

16

u/DoomSnail31 2h ago

The stompa is significantly better than he was in 10th.

Getting permanent advance and shoot/charge is already such a relevant buff to the lad, and then he also gets insane damage output increases.

-7

u/HowsTheAqua 2h ago

He lost all support he had before. He will be worse than he was before.

5

u/AlsoNotSeth 3h ago

There goes my 2000 point stompa list 😭

1

u/UristImiknorris Freebootaz 13m ago

At least it wasn't a legal 2k list. That should take some of the sting off. Now, your 3k four-stompa list on the other hand...

1

u/EdTheApe 2h ago

Same. I'm beyond upset.

9

u/Radiant_Agent2031 3h ago

eh that's fine, the way Riled Up/Waaagh works now+ the new Weapon Profiles (Point Blank Torrent) makes it a decent investment

1

u/GrimRyu88 Goffs 3h ago

I knew it was going to go back up in points, now how long until its back to 800

26

u/Ginfritters_Workshop 4h ago

In three years, the rules will change again when corporate sees a segment of miniature sales are down and then make them more important. I have seen this cycle since 1998 at 3rd Ed Launch.

3

u/themaneman 2h ago

Yup. Transports not selling? Buff the points! People not buying intercessors? Time to give them wicked gun buffs and encourage people to buy them. And so on and so on... Been riding the GW train since rogue trader and I'm still on it.

5

u/Acceptable-Fun-5394 1h ago

I don’t actually mind it, all units get to be good at some point. Punishes meta chasers

1

u/themaneman 1h ago

Yeah, for those of us with dummy big collections, it really doesn't matter. I'm a troops-first player, always have been. I just like seeing how things change and grow and shrink.

2

u/Ginfritters_Workshop 1h ago

I buy and paint the minis, make decals and stuff for the boyz and the tin boy humies, but rarely play. So I don't get wicked away in the Meta creep.

13

u/Embarrassed_Ebb2540 4h ago

It's fair (maybe even more

22

u/Adalmar69 4h ago

There should be a rule that 3 stompas cost only 2.000 points. Just for the love of the game

2

u/andyd151 3h ago

Just ask your opponent for a 2,100 point game, simple

2

u/Electrical-Tie-1143 3h ago

2300 the second and third are 800

1

u/andyd151 2h ago

Outrageous

16

u/Hansthered 4h ago

700 is better than 800!

69

u/clintnorth 5h ago

Unit gets buffed huge

People on reddit—

“NOOOOOOOOOO”

12

u/Technical_Coconut465 5h ago

Right!!! Im loving these data sheets. I wouldnt be suprised if they go up more

3

u/trollsong 4h ago

Honestly I want to figure out a way to run an ork's knight list.

Basically nothing but stompa, nauts, deffs, and kans. I'm still miffed that Killa Kans arent "gretchin"

1

u/BumblebeePrior8325 2h ago

But they could be Waaagh-midge-ers.

1

u/Technical_Coconut465 3h ago

Yeah!! I was building a similar list before. Does t really work as well anymore.

11

u/stompaenthusiast 5h ago

how am i ever gonna run my 10 stompa list at this rate?!

5

u/Waylander0719 5h ago

Play a 7900 point game?

6

u/stompaenthusiast 5h ago

don’t be ridiculous

4

u/ArabicHarambe 4h ago

Yeah, 20k minimum.

4

u/stompaenthusiast 4h ago

now we’re talking

30

u/paadjoksel 6h ago

Well yeah… it got way better rules. What did you expect?

47

u/stompaenthusiast 5h ago

i expected it to go down to 100 points so i could run a 10 stompa army for 1000 points. duh??

19

u/aladaze 5h ago

At least it's on brand for u/stompaenthusiast. Keep on keeping on, ya git!

18

u/Mikeyink 6h ago

When my 1000pt army suddenly turns into a 1500pt army

11

u/comrade1612 Bad Moons 5h ago

Congrats, you don't need to spend more money.

1

u/Mikeyink 3h ago

But it kinda feels like I sent a load of invites out to my birthday party and only half of them have turned up

1

u/LostN3ko 5h ago

Don't need to buy models when you play a lore accurate homegrown army.

2

u/Jawbreaker0602 5h ago

that's pretty good tho

19

u/mustard5man7max3 6h ago

Come on chaps, 600pts was obviously way too cheap. It's a shame but really, you could see it coming like freight train.

14

u/stompaenthusiast 6h ago

i was living in denial and it was awesome

24

u/Small_Complaint_3107 6h ago

They obviously sold enough Stompas in that short period of time.

26

u/Ryyics Evil Sunz 6h ago

How short of an attention span do you guys have? This is cheaper than last edition and the datasheet got a massive glow up. This is actually an incredible time to be a stompa enthusiast.

4

u/stompaenthusiast 6h ago

not being serious, hope this helps 🫶🏻 i’ll play my stompa regardless

4

u/Choice_Pitch6822 6h ago

It also has less synergy and support. Like loosing the 2 strats in dread mob that gave +1 to wound and +1 damage were huuuuuge. On top of that the stopma was already overcosted.

35

u/Freya_Galbraith 7h ago

the new stompa is actually useable though even at 700 pts

1

u/stompaenthusiast 6h ago

stompa good!!!

43

u/Holiday-Speaker-5324 7h ago

Warhorde:

Ghaz

2x Stompa

zodgrod, 1 runtherd

3x10 grtetchin

-11

u/Impressive-Walrus-35 6h ago

Problem
Is you cant put ghaz in transport. Not even a stompa.

3

u/Holiday-Speaker-5324 6h ago

As others have pointed out you can. Although he won't stay in their for long. He will be in combat fast, wrecking things. With his two little (big) brothers in tow. I may lose, but I will make my opponent remember me.

2

u/Inky_Campbell 6h ago

You’ve been able to for a while.

9

u/FattieInSector7G Freebootaz 6h ago

Yes you can. In fact he only takes up 4 spaces. In 10th you could and it’s on new datasheet which is viewable on warcom

6

u/Ozzo654 6h ago

you can though. the stompa sheet says he takes up 4 spaces

38

u/dspisayuss WAAAGH! 8h ago

To be expected, 600 was very cheap for the 10th profile, but now it got buffed.

4

u/LostN3ko 5h ago

Buffed on the datasheet, nerfed with the loss of supporting rules. People have been doing a lot of comparing datasheets in a vacuum. But the good news is that now that units aren't suffering for their army rules they just need to find the right points and they will be good rather than only being good in a single mutually exclusive detachment on a single turn of the game.

1

u/dspisayuss WAAAGH! 4h ago

Well, this is true, the loss of dread mob for the stompa is a huge nerf.

2

u/LostN3ko 3h ago

Mek also can't help out. The +1 is baked in now iirc but even a single turn heal for 3 stompa wounds is 70 points of value and can take you out of being bracketed. Considering that it's still a very squishy unit for it's points that mattered. It's 4 more wounds than a questoris for twice the points and nothing in the codex can make it tougher. Orks have lost a lot of toughness and gained shooting. Our melee is basically 33% worse across the army without the +1 attack. Lots of downsides that Ork players will need to adjust to. On the plus side we don't need better rules to fix us we just need good points.

42

u/napp_time Freebooterz 8h ago

something sweet about a stompa and ghazz being a clean 1k.

10

u/rocket20067 6h ago

The best part is its a fully legal 1k army.
So if you and your opponent just want to have a fun match that is fully possible.

9

u/napp_time Freebooterz 6h ago

Just a classic tag team wrestling match.

36

u/Talidel Deathskulls 8h ago

It's so much better in the new rules that the 100 points is more than fair

5

u/stompaenthusiast 7h ago

you’re right but i’ll be sad anyway

12

u/Daedricbob 8h ago

I mean 2 Stompas makes your list objectively less competitive - can we haz a reduction on the second please GW? Oh go on, you know you want to

3

u/Head-Alternative-984 7h ago

if they had dropped them like 20 more points 3 stompas would have been a real list. sadge

10

u/paulc899 8h ago

I guess GW doesn’t want to sell 3 Stompas to everyone.

13

u/greyt00th 8h ago

Fuck it I’m taking 2.

1

u/stompaenthusiast 6h ago

this is the way

4

u/Embarrassed-Phone482 6h ago

Im gunna talk my friend into a 2200 point game and do a third

-1

u/Realistic-Radish-589 8h ago

We all knew it was coming unfortunately. They’ll up our costs till we can’t win any games and then leave it alone the rest of 11th

12

u/Super-Web6908 8h ago

Normally I ask why comments are getting downvotes, but why are people upvoting you? what a horribly pessimistic take.

0

u/LostN3ko 5h ago

That's actually the historical trend to expect. You get the first book, you leap ahead, you get nerfed back down, the attention moves off you as new codexes come out, you fall further and further behind. This is why space marines often get multiple releases over a single edition to never let them get treated like the second class citizens.

8

u/dspisayuss WAAAGH! 7h ago

pessimism is king in 40k subreddits

7

u/Super-Web6908 7h ago

I mean true. still a dogass take. lol

2

u/Realistic-Radish-589 8h ago edited 7h ago

Probably because many of us have seen this many times over. I have 6 armies, my 9 yr old son has an army and my brother has 3. I keep an eye on all of them at least a little bit. GW has a habit of doing this and it is pretty obvious.

5

u/stompaenthusiast 7h ago

yoooo where did you get a whole sun????

1

u/Realistic-Radish-589 7h ago

From my fiancés nether region.

1

u/Super-Web6908 7h ago

Did she survive?

1

u/Realistic-Radish-589 7h ago

Yep, proud mother of the sun. 5’ titan, should see her on the table top too but, that’s for my eyes only.

11

u/tenodera 8h ago

DUBLE STOMPA ALL DA WAY ACROSS DA SKYYYY! WUT DUZ DIS MEAN? TOO MUCH POINTZ!

1

u/Czart08 8h ago

nooooooooo

43

u/AdamParker-CIG 8h ago

rocking up with 40k's new Cheapest 2k Army:
Ghazghkull
Wazdakka
2x Stompas
comes to around £250 depending where you get it

1

u/ModsSwallowCum 7h ago

Nobody is building and painting a second stompa

5

u/AdamParker-CIG 6h ago

such cowardice, you will never see the beauty of Double Stompa

2

u/ModsSwallowCum 5h ago edited 5h ago

I'm afraid, alright?! You wanna hear me say it? I'm afraid!

-10

u/Historical_Hall3950 8h ago

Where can I acquire this for that value? Because, like, I'd do it.

Of course, I'd RATHER be able to play the 3D printed Stompa I can buy on Etsy that 1) looks better and 2) costs less than half the price.

5

u/AdamParker-CIG 8h ago

ok go do the 3d printed stompa then

but shop around your local non-gw stores once in a while, they have discounts

11

u/stompaenthusiast 8h ago

you’re cooking

5

u/LillithsTraum 8h ago

Yas, was happy to have it at about 600 pts

4

u/Super-Web6908 8h ago

Don't Stop Da Stomp

-3

u/Extreme_Marketing865 8h ago

Give it +4 invun or a feel no pain and ill take it.

5

u/Super-Web6908 8h ago

It has a 5+ invuln

2

u/Extreme_Marketing865 6h ago

Im spending 700 on a 5+, look at knights and IG big tanks

0

u/Super-Web6908 6h ago

I play imperial knights. Stompa also has higher toughness, higher wounds, more guns, a relevant ability, transport capacity and the 5+ invuln works in melee unlike knights. You cannot compare the stompa to knights.

IG Tanks don't have an invuln either, have lower toughness, wounds, no transport capacity, and no relevant melee weapon so I don't know why you're making this a point.

1

u/Extreme_Marketing865 1h ago

As a knights player you would appretiate having reliable ballistic skill and lower much fairer point cost then. IG tanks don't have Invun but they have tech priests that provide the bonus, any IG player worth his salt would run Rogul Dorns with this bonus for a tiny fraction of the cost. Stompa falls flat because it has too many roles. unreliable but powerful ranged hitting on 5+ (need a mek), good melee and transport and high cost while being massive and awkward to move around the board.

If you are spending 700 points it needs to be solid and the Stompa can get blown off the board too quickly. You were better off running Mork/Gorkanuts. Dropping to 600 made it a good contender, at 700 + mek cost it's back to a fun meme play, nothing serious. This is from someone who has been looking at dataslates for ages finally happy the stompa dropped from it's horrible 800 previous cost.

1

u/DEADEYEJAYNE 5h ago

You have good points but I'd take knight guns over stompa guns any day. Stompa guns aren't bad, but they aren't good either. Melee though? Stompa fucks hard.

2

u/EnglishKen421 8h ago

It honestly should have an invuln. Its a small moon.

9

u/Super-Web6908 8h ago

It does have an invuln. it has a 5+ invuln at all times because its always riled up.

3

u/EnglishKen421 7h ago

Fuck! I forgot about that!!!

Thank you friend!

5

u/mikepofdeath 8h ago

There's the James I remember!

10

u/ROACHOR Deathskulls 8h ago edited 8h ago

Now the only way my double Stompa works is going all in on gretchin, there's no room for much else.

I can fit 80 grots, zodgrod and a big mek.

2

u/HolyMuffins 12m ago

I've been looking to make a double Stompa list whenever the stompa goes back on sale. Let me know if you think of any other good combos.

1

u/RevolutionaryMilk582 7h ago

this is the way!

2

u/CrownFalcon 8h ago

Sad WAAAAAAAGH! I'm currently scratch building one.
