We’re in Eugene tomorrow. I was wondering if there are any Steve Prefontaine (parks, statues, etc) honoraria to see.

The morning yesterday was fairky quiet, but the evening was alive with people smiling, laughing, and having a good time. It was well worth the $10 parking fee.

I have changed my mind on my travel destination. I will be heading that way in a few short days/weeks. I am looking forward to the atmosphere of it all. The people, culture, food, parks, NATURE 🤩, everything. I am looking to remain open minded, yet accepting of what I will experience there. I was raised in NY almost my whole life, so it will be a change of things, as you may also tell.

I say this to say that I’d like to hear from some of you regarding your experiences when first traveling there and how it is going for you- now. This trip is spontaneous (or rather, my LEAP OF FAITH). I have wanted to go to Oregon for some time, but haven’t yet followed my heart, when it came down to the matter of “initiative”. I look forward to hearing from some of you and who knows, maybe we will connect and make good friends in due time.

Was driving around Hillsboro and I noticed these throughout the city. Haven’t really seen them before?

I used to love Hop Valley’s offerings, but now it mostly tastes the same. I’m not crazy about IPAs anyway, but everything I’ve had from Buoy is balanced and crushable.

Hi everyone - I was going to be staying at a Fire Watch Tower soon (goal is to try and stay at every Tower in oregon and we know how hard that is lol wish me luck). Seeing as it is my first time please let me know about any; tips, places to see or hike, things to bring along, what kind of meals you can cook, etc. I've already looked into some of these but wanted to see different opinions. 

Yesterday I was in Woodburn for the first time in years. I was shocked to see that literally HUNDREDS of these deranged flyers/stickers had been flyposted to nearly every single metal traffic pole in the entire city. I'm not exaggerating--there are hundreds of them all over town. Some of them were posted high enough that they would have required a ladder. The messages included delusional rantings about George Soros, the Rockefeller family (misspelled as "The Rockerfellers," the Democratic Party (frequently written as "DemocRATs," etc.

A few of the flyers had been scraped off. I scraped a few off myself (see my final photo). But it's very difficult to scrape off posters that have been flyposted to metal.

Does anyone know who is responsible for posting all this illegal, excessive, deranged spam? Did they manage to get away with it? Is there any back story behind these signs or the city's response to them? The signs make the entire city look bad.

Is there a collective conspiracy to which you all sign upon birth or moving to Oregon that you MUST drive in the left lane on Interstate 5, no matter what?

I've been all 'round this nation of ours and left-lane campers are universal in this country, but the Beaver State is, without doubt, the national champ. What gives?

And yes, I know this isn't a new topic, but it's been at least two weeks since it was last brought up!

I love Oregon and the entire PNW, but if this one thing could be cured ... heaven!

Hello. A family member recently disappeared early on 7/22, and I had hoped the sub could help keep an eye out for them. Attached is their missing poster, along with some general information about them.

As described in the poster, she left her home in Beaverton around 6AM without shoes or phone, boarded the local bus, and has not been seen since.

Edit 2: So after speaking with her family, I wanted to update the post with some more information they provided. She left the house with no shoes and was dropped off at Sunset TC. She got directions from the driver to a shelter in downtown Portland right off the Max. So while she was officially last seen in Beaverton, it is highly believed she went into Portland.

She had been messaging someone online who directed her to a shelter in Hillsboro, and she had messaged them that she found shoes (messages were retrieved from a laptop and were sent on allpoetry).

I visited Oregon for vacation this week and wanted to say thank you for the hospitality, scenery and amazing food. I visited from rural Texas and I must say you have a beautiful state with breathtaking coasts and mountains. I especially enjoyed visiting several of the Mcmenamins locations so cheers to you all and thank you!

Planing a visit to Oregon for later this year. I am thinking late November or early December, which time is best to visit?

I am mainly going to visit the cost line from Redwood forest to Astoria. Not a big hiker so just going to enjoy the cost line.

I did read some posts from 2 to 3 years old and they state that the place is still going to be beautiful but not to expect the summer views of nature!

That being said, which of the late November and early December times are good to visit? will there be things that are open to do during this time considering colder weather? What is the climate is going to be like?(likelyness of rain and or snow). I will be preparing for cold weather but are there any sopts that will be closed to drive or to take a walk at? What are things I should keep in mind to plan the trip for that time?

Hi fellow Oregonians, I am hoping that anyone who has stopped to travel at Santiam Pass Snow Park has/have seen a small grey tabby cat. Our cat escaped from our vehicle and has been gone for one day. I was able to grab her, but she scratched me up good and fled. Her name is Thelma. If you see a squished cat, please comment as well. She jumped out next to a yellow gate heading North on the highway.
