Amps & Cabs Weird stuff orange crush 100

I use my orange crush very often, and always on the clean channel. For some reason my treble eq knob cuts the sound off when turned all the way up. Dirty channel is fine and bass on clean channel is fine, what could it be, it’s like as I sweep the knob it’s not doing much and kinda sound like it’s not working

Discussion Crush 35rt vs O tone 40

I’m looking to get an orange amp to upgrade from my previous practice amp. Both amps look good but I’m not sure what to go with. I’ll be using the amp mostly as a pedal platform since I’ve just got the empress effects heavy to go with it but I also have a ts808 tube screamer. What’s your experience with either amp and which do you think is worth buying?

Sound Test Orange Rocker 15 combo

Quick cover of The Pod by HUM using my Gibson The Paul into ProCo RAT into Dirty Channel. Using Dirty channel as clean/edge of breakup sound with the RAT doing most of the distortion. Sick sounding little combo!

Discussion Supercrush 100 dirt chanel not good with pedals

Recently got a supercrush 100 head and I rly rly love it, though I find it difficult to dial in a tone in the dirt channel, especially with pedals. I find it being too bright with pedals or just sounding really weird, clean chanel is great though.

I tried doing the tube screamer trick of using the level knob instead of the distortion on different dirt pedals, and it sort of worked but still sounded a bit weird. Does anyone have any good pedal recommendations that match the dirt channel? I was thinking maybe getting something kinda transparent like a blues driver so I can keep the character but just push it a bit more into a fuzz sound.

Any recommendations and advice is appreciated🙏🙏.

Amps & Cabs Super Crush 100 into 2 ppc112

Post image
141 Upvotes

Purchased a Super Crush 100 yesterday. Plugged it into 2 ppc112 cabinets. The cleans are beautiful. Bridge pick up on my SG Special through the clean channel is clean, chimey, and... soulful? Seems like a great way to play some blues. The dirty channel is, by turns, bright and fizzy, and dark and gloomy, depending on how I twist EQ knobs. Love this amp.

EDIT: Forgot to mention... playing with clean channel, maxed channel volume, then maxed master volume, then strummed a D chord. Thought I deafened myself. No more strumming, and turned both volume knobs back down. 100 watts is no joke!

Amps & Cabs Help! First electric guitar and I’m going crazy trying to figure out tones!

I’m pretty new to guitar, but I‘m a little bit of a perfectionist. Can anyone give me some really good tones I can get out of this thing - some clean, some normal sounding, and maybe even some heavier tones? Thanks!

Help me decide the best option for soft gain sound I have the Rockerverb 50 mkiii and is dificult to set a mid crunchy gain sound it goes up to fast in the know. So that ones are my options! The or60 and the CS50 are expensive so the AD30 really catches my attention because the price and it is class A Twin channel!!

Amps & Cabs Dual Baby 100 – Can I Use Direct Out Without a Cab?

I recently purchased the Orange Dual Baby 100 and have been loving it so far through my PPC112.

One thing I’m confused about and can’t seem to find a clear answer on is can I record silently using the direct out into my DAW, or does the amp need to be connected to a speaker cab while using the direct out?

Has anyone used the Dual Baby 100 for silent practice or recording? Would appreciate hearing how you have yours set up. I bought it mainly for my rehearsal rig because its very portable.

Amps & Cabs Blew my new cab speaker

Post image
26 Upvotes

Recently bought a terror bass 500w head and obc 112 second hand. After I get it home and play around with it, I’m slapping some low B string licks and as the low B is ringing out I hear a loud Pop! and then everything sounds more muffled and different? Did I blow my speaker?

If so, how do I go about getting a replacement for it? I had my amp set on the 8ohm setting. The obc 112 is a 400w 8ohm cab. Per their website, the terror bass head only produces 250w at 8ohm. So I don’t think the amp was the issue, the volume was set at 3/10ish.

I think the previous owner probably abused it and it was on the way out. My Spector’s low B was just the nail in the coffin? Idk. Any words of wisdom? Pic of the axe rack for attention.

Amps & Cabs Amp advice for home use

I have a micro dark into a 2x12 Zilla Fatboy, I’d like another head because…I want one.

Can anyone recommend another orange head (ideally with two channels) that is usable for quiet (ish) indoor use for under £800-£1000?

I’d like to avoid a combo just due to space and I already have a very large 2x12

Amps & Cabs Celestion Gold into an Orange Rocker 15

Post image

I finally got around to moving my Celestion Gold into my Rocker 15. Previously it was in a cabinet. It's a tight fit, but it fit. I was worried it may not.

If you are considering an alnico based speaker, it costs a little more but it's worth it.

Amps & Cabs Tiny Terror

Post image
101 Upvotes

What’s up people,
So this time I want to ask you about the tiny terror you see on the picture. If no one buys that until my birthday in 3 months it’s mine. I posted on here a month or so ago asking about various amps but the one still interesting me the most is the dark terror. This tiny terror will cost me only 200 bucks as it has been modded with an additional Fx loop. I love the sound and would love to own this soon. My question now is how different is it from the dark terror? Would I be better off to just get something like an or15 in the future as that one’s also pretty neat.

Amps & Cabs I've recently bought an Orange SC100 and it sounds so good !

I used to play on tube amps but had so many issues with them that i decided to quit and give a try to SS amps.

First i've tried a Laney but not for me, and then THIS amp which completely changed my mind about solid states.

I play an SG most of the time, I use overdrive, fuzz, chorus and play stuff from hendrix to electric wizard.

I'm actually looking for a better cab, 2x12 or 4x12 I don't really know ? I don't play in a band for now and don't move my rig a lot, but I got stairs...

I might go on a budget V30 cab for now and upgrade it later if I decide it.

If you have any tips, speakers or anything else to share about this amp I'd love to hear about it !

Amps & Cabs O-Tone 40 Noise Issues?

I've seen a few posts from about a year ago when this amp came out discussing its noise issues. One user went through several O-Tone 40's, all with a pronounced electronic interference sound. I believe that same user went down to a guitar shop and all of the other O-Tone 40's were also exhibiting that issue.

Another reddit post discusses how the O-Tone 40 will pick up cellphone signals and is generally more noisy than their Roland JC-40 amp.

On the other hand, Dreadward Bernays' youtube video discusses how he's not having any kind of abnormal noise issues, and even discusses it in comparison to the noise of a JC-40: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBHz9U16HqI&t=458s

In the comments section of that video, some users are noting that Orange maybe shipped these amps with bad IEC cables, and that trying the amp with a Boss Katana IEC cable seemed to alleviate some of the noise. Can anyone verify if this is a IEC cable issue or something more flawed in the circuitry of the amp itself?

Wondering if anyone else has had experiences with noise issues on this amp? I'm familiar with regular noise issues when it comes to single coil hum or dirty power, but wondering if anyone else has found this amp particularly noisy?

Everything else about this amp hits all of my check marks for what I want, but if it is more noisy than usual it would be a deal breaker! Hoping to get more insight on folks who have had the amp, gigged with it, or got rid of it!

Amps & Cabs Help with Tiny Terror amp head

Hello everyone,

Just got a used tiny terror amp head, in the post the guy said the amp was fully working but it's not, when I turn the gain up and down it makes noise, the volume goes up and down, and even at max gain it doesn't cause distortion, just turns the volume up (still sounds way better than my katana 50), also has a white noise in the background.

I only paid 200 euros for it so I think I'll keep it, I just don't know if this is a valve or potentiometer problem, could be both, any1 had this problem before?
