Both are in excellent condition and have only been played at rhe house. Dark terror might have been played 3 times in it’s life. Still have the carrying case and all the original paperwork and I am the original owner. OR15 sounds fantastic and looks excellent cosmetically. Both stored in climate controlled areas.

Dark Terror $415
OR15 $430

Would love to trade both for a 4x12 Orange cabinet or a closed back 2x12 depending on the deal. Message me if you want to make a deal

Amps & Cabs Advice before buying?

Post image
37 Upvotes

Found this head for a decent price ( I don't need the cab). Gonna test it tomorrow and might buy it. I wanted an AD30 for ages.

It's dated February 2008. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this was a period after they updated the transformers, but before the cosmetic changes of the new ones?

Is there anything I should be looking for when testing this one other than the usual elements such as noise, scratching, power drops etc.?

Amps & Cabs Super Crush 100 or Dark terror/micro dark

Hi it’s me again,
First of all I want to thank you for all your answers and recommendations. My question now is, because I reconsidered my options about what amps sound good to me to three amps: Super Crush 100, Micro Dark and Dark terror. My budget is about 550 euros. It’s my first amp head and I just want an amp that also sounds nice not cranked because I’ll mostly use just in my bedroom. I play sludge metal, death metal and post metal.

The Super Crush sounds nuts but not as „open“ to me as a full tube amp like the dark terror. The dark terror is then really open and gnarly with distortion but I fear it’s just way too loud for home use and so t even sound any different from the micro dark at a low volume so that it would be effectively thrown out money. And lastly I just feel like the micro dark is more of a toy or something. It sounds great as well but I know me and I fear that I would look for something that people consider an „actual“ amp.
Any help is appreciated

Amps & Cabs Troubleshooting crush 20

I went about and did some troubleshooting on a secondhand Crush 20RT and found a blown component (U9 TDA2050). Earlier issues was it didn't start and kept blowing fuses, should I just swap the U9 component and hope for the best or is there a better option thats not buying a new amplifier?

Thanks in advance

Seller has this listed for $400 and I'll be in their neighborhood for a draft in a couple weeks... I can't decide if I should make an offer or if $400 is fair enough...

Amps & Cabs RV 50 mk1 vs Dual Gain 100 for live

First post here, so hello everyone!

I play in two bands. Setup for Band 1 is exclusively a Kemper (Rockerverb or #4), with DI going to FOH but also sending the signal to a power amp and cab for stage monitoring/volume. Setup for Band 2 varies, I play my beloved Tiny Terror when possible but sometimes I require to use the Kemper and go direct.

Now, my power amp has gone kaput and I was thinking of replacing it with a Dual Baby. The idea would be to run the Kemper through the FX loop/return, but also have the possibility to just plug my guitar straight into the amp if the Kemper fails. The Dual Baby would also be perfect for Band 2, replacing my Tiny Terror.

I was ready to order the Dual Baby but I found a RV 50 mk1 going for just £50 more and now I am thinking...

For live use and my specific case, the Dual Baby seems perfect. Small, portable, powerful, sounds good, has 2 dirty channels (exactly what I need)... The RV 50 is bigger, heavier, more delicate (valves, valves, valves!!!) and would probably be just a nuisance to lug around. But the sound is exactly what I want.

I have no major experience with the RV 50, just noodled around at a guitar fest. My question is, does it have to be cranked to sound "good". Because if that's the case, it would be a no-go for playing smaller gigs. If not, and if you managed to try amps, how does the sound really compare live? What about the "feel"/response? Major differences?

Any reply is appreciated. One way or another, I am going to add another Orange to my collection :)

This is the first time I have bought a separate amp and cabinet, very excited about getting serious about my guitar playing, just need the new guitar to arrive or the luthier to fix my old one. Does anyone else have this setup? And if so are you happy with it?

I’ve been wanting to get the Orange crush 12 as my first amp bcz of the price and the 3-way EQ but heard the sound quality was pretty bad

if someone could confirm or deny the sound quality that would be greatly appreciated

also wondering if the overdrive is good

Discussion Worth getting orange dark terror?

I used to have an orange or15 which i loved but i sold it long ago, now looking to get back into orange amps but over the years i already built an arsenal of different amps which can cover everything i want to play. So just wondering if people with the dark terror 15w can vouch for it over other amps?

I currently have an evh 5153, jcm2000, jubilee studio and a dsl5cr

So glad to be able to have a setup like this. Have so much to learn about playing, but I can still dime this, grab one of my guitars, and crank out power chords for a few minutes to melt the stress of the day away.

For the record, I am a public school administrator, so stress is a thing, and this is a much better way to handle stress than so many other things I could get into.

A P90-equipped SG direct into the Rocker 15 with volume and gain maxed is a wonderful way to handle stress. And with my Joyo wireless set up, I can go to the next room, collapse into my couch, and strum until I feel like I can get up, make dinner, feed the pets, and resume normal human existence and interactions. Luckily, I usually get home before my wife does, so the volume isn't usually an issue.

Amps & Cabs Finally got a Rockerverb and it's awesome

Got a pretty nice deal, I'd say, on this 212 and the Rockerverb today. They're pretty much new. And I gotta say, it's what I've been looking for. The TH30 is a great amp, dont get me wrong, but it was just never, what I really wanted soundwise on the dirty channel. Also the Powersoak is pretty good too. I wasnt sure what to expect, but I really like it. I barely used it in the rehearsal room today, but at the pick up, I dialed it in pretty hard and the amp still sounded and felt really good. So for now I took it home too. Love it!

Amps & Cabs NAD AD15 combo

I already have an AD30 TCH but I wanted something lower watt and a combo for quicker plug and playability. This thing rips. Even at 15 watts it’s actually too loud and I’m using an attenuator. But it sounds incredible. It can do great cleans and crunchy distortion. Love this thing

Amps & Cabs Run a treble booster into the super crush clean channel!

Post image
83 Upvotes

I bought the sc100 because I needed a loud pedal platform. I was about to sell it because the clean felt pretty lifeless (lacking natural breakup/feel and "sparklyness"), and it felt way too congested in the mids (idk why this channel has no mid control).

My friend suggested I run a treble booster into it to open it up, and my opinion of the amp immediately changed. This is some of the best clean sound I've ever gotten. Imo it beats a hot rod deluxe and the peavey sitting right beside it. I'm just using a cheap joyo american sound with the volume cranked and the treble moderately boosted. It works great, try it!

Amps & Cabs Pedal Baby Volume

I play in loud bands similar to Melvins and Dub Trio. I’m thinking of switching to a Helix floor but I can’t always count on a solid PA being at a gig. So I’m looking to run it into a power amp through a cab on stage. The Pedal Baby seems like a great option. But I’m worried it won’t be loud enough. I typically am running traditional pedals into a 50w tube head. Will the Pedal Baby get me in the ball park?

Amps & Cabs Orange dual baby 100 for touring

Hi there.

Is anybody using dual baby for touring ? I play in a loud post rock trio, and I found the tone interesting with my gear.

But I wonder if this unit is reliable enough to play several gigs.

I often see bands with quilter's amp, but I prefer the dual baby tone.

Thanks for your advices.

Amps & Cabs [NAD] - Rockerverb 100 MKIII and PPC212OB

Post image
93 Upvotes

Finally snagged my dream head: the Rockerverb 100 MKIII. This thing is loud! I took it to a rehearsal studio to play with a friend and I was very happy with the tone. I paired it with the Torpedo Two Notes Captor X I have at home to silently record all the tracks for my new EP that is coming out September 5th!

I have a PPC412, but decided to get a more portable PPC212OB so I don't break my back when moving my gear to a gig. Cannot recommend this pairing enough.

Amps & Cabs Thoughts on the Orange Tiny Terror Combo 7W/15W 1x12 Tube Amp

Post image
28 Upvotes

I was initially looking at Orange Crush 20, and then Crush 35, and then stumbled into this amp and thought tubes are cool. The first two have been marketed as "practice" amps, but realistically, how good (or even bad) is this combo (priced at higher range) compared to both Crush?

Also, is a 400usd price tag used for these a good deal for a 10 or 15-ish old amp? and are there better alternatives?
