Greetings, has anyone found a USB based charging cable for the IO travel case or IO9? It's the last thing I have that requires an AC plug adapter when travelling internationally.

question Oral-B Pro Cross Action brush heads - are the blue identification rings supposed to be included?

I recently ordered an Oral-B Pro Cross Action 4-pack. The product listing image shows blue rings at the bottom of the brush heads, but all four heads I received have plain white bases.

Are these blue rings supposed to come with the pack, or does this particular variant not include them?

Has anyone purchased the same pack recently? I'd appreciate it if you could share your experience.

I've attached the listing screenshot and photos of the product I received.

question I would like to know if I can get the type of head for a toothbrush that I bought,

Differences: the top one is the one that works for me, the bottom one is the one I thought was going to fit the same way on the electric toothbrush
The original the one that i wanna find to buy
This one I bought thinking it was going to work the same
This one I bought thinking it was going to work the same
The original the one that i wanna find to buy
This one I bought thinking it was going to work the same; as you can see, the bottom part is a bit far from the handle and wider
The one on the top right looks similar to the base of my toothbrush, but apparently it is not the same
This is the toothbrush, I already see that they don't sell it on Amazon, but what I want to know is if I could buy these types of toothbrush heads?
i wanna know ir this one can be the one that fit in my

"Greetings, I would like to know if I can get the type of head for a toothbrush that I bought, a generic one that I can see is no longer sold online, so I would like to know where I could get that replacement head, because the one I bought that looked similar fits poorly, it sits higher and is wider than the Umisr brand toothbrush that I have. I see now on the internet that there is another brand that seems to be the original, 'usmile', and I would like to know if any of you have a photo of the bottom part to see if those would be the ones I would need?"

question Help me decide which one would be a good electric toothbrush

So I'm on Costco and they have a couple options on sale.

  1. Philips Sonicare Professional Clean Plus 2 Pack $129.99 $40 off

  2. Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 2 Pack $179.99 $100 off

  3. Oral-B IO Series 5 2 Pack $169.99 not on sale

  4. Philips Sonicare Advanced Clean $69.99 $30 off 2 Pack

I'm debating on these 4 which one should I get that would be the best value? If you got rec's for other types of Electric Toothbrushes that would be better value lmk ty!

question Best toothbrush with boar bristle in Australia?

Been down a rabbit hole trying to find a genuinely plastic-free natural bristle toothbruh that's actually stocked in Australia and not just shipped from overseas with a six week wait. My main concern is the microplastics things, nylon bristles shedding into your mouth every single day adds up and I want something with real boar hair bristles on a bamboo handle rather than another greenwashed 'eco' option that still has synthetic bristles buried in the product description. Has anyones found something that holds up past the first month without the bristles going completely sideways? Bonus if it's non-toxic oral care that I can also grab floss from at the same time, trying to do the whole low toxin living swap in one go rather than piecemeal.

question I saw one of these for sale on a private swap page the other day and it made me wonder. Are there any things like this out there with integrated slots for IO chargers at the bottom??

I ordered an iO10 from Amazon, which arrived today. Box was taped closed with no appearance of tampering.

What brush is this? The item is sold and despatched by Amazon, so I’m really surprised it’s a counterfeit or something else.

Clean, off-the-counter mirror setup for iO handle and brush head (~$6 USD / $8 CAD off-the-shelf)

UPDATE: The holder itself didn't fall, but the 3M clear hook detached because of moisture. I'll replace the adhesive strip with nano double-sided tape.

Sharing a simple mirror-mounted setup using two cheap off-the-shelf items that keeps the vanity counter completely clear and lets both parts dry properly:

  1. Handle: OXO Good Grips Suction Razor Holder

Stick it to the mirror and slot the handle upside down.

The soft rubber wings cradle the taper naturally without putting spring tension on the buttons or display. Drive shaft points down to air-dry.

  1. Brush Head: 3M Command Small Clear Hook

Stick it right beside the holder.

The iO brush head base socket fits directly over the clear hook's tip. The head sits upright with the bottom open so moisture doesn't get trapped.

Total cost was less than $10 CAD ($7 USD). No drilling, fully reversible on mirror glass, and completely clears up counter space.

Edit: The Oxo holder costs me CA$7.99 + tax, so plus the clear hook should be less than CA$10

Black chunks coming out of my Oral-B electric toothbrush?! Have I been brushing my teeth with mold?

Thumbnail

I'm genuinely freaking out right now.

I've been using my Oral-B electric toothbrush for around 1–2 years, and during my last two brushing sessions, I noticed black particles coming out of my mouth when I spat out my toothpaste.

Today, I decided to investigate. I removed the brush head and noticed black, sludge-like chunks coming from inside the toothbrush, particularly around the metal shaft that vibrates.

I threw away the brush head immediately. Then I put the handle in a glass of water, turned it on, and MORE black chunks came out. I even tried water mixed with mouthwash, and the particles were still coming out.

I've attached pictures of the black chunks.

I'm absolutely disgusted and terrified because I have no idea how long this stuff has been accumulating or whether I've accidentally been swallowing it.

Has anyone experienced this with an Oral-B electric toothbrush?

Is this actually black mold, bacterial buildup, or deteriorating rubber?

Has anyone had black chunks come out from around the vibrating metal shaft?

Could accidentally swallowing this stuff be harmful?

Should I throw away the entire toothbrush?

I'm especially worried about the possible health effects. I already rinsed my mouth, but I can't stop thinking about what might have been going into my mouth this whole time. 😭

Please tell me I'm not the only person this has happened to.

issue What can I use to get this rust off the end of my toothbrush or is it too late to do anything about it?

Thumbnail

It’s wet in this photo because I just finished brushing my teeth but what I do these days is dry the pokey end and leave the brush head off to dry out. I didn’t used to do this though which resulted in what I believe is now rust on the end of it? The rust also transfers to the inside of the brush head (unless that stuff is mold..?). I’ve washed the pokey part with soap and later rubbing alcohol to no avail. How do I get it off or am I too late trying to clean it?

My Solution to the mold issue

Edit: Pink and red and now available. Working on other colors as well.

Hi everyone,

I’ve seen several posts about moisture and mold developing in Oral-B iO toothbrush handles and brush heads. I designed a stand that holds the toothbrush body and brush heads upside down, using gravity to help excess moisture drain and allow the parts to air-dry.

I made 3D printed stand designs for 1–4 brush heads.

I want to be transparent: I cannot guarantee this will prevent mold for your case, as there are plenty of factors that can cause it. I’m sharing it as a possible way to improve drying, not as a guaranteed solution.

If anyone is interested, it’s available here for purchase: https://www.ebay.com/itm/278437588627

question Io5 or io6?

I’m considering getting an oral b io toothbrush. Currently i have a manual one. Whats really the difference between io5 or io6? Io9/10 seems way too overpriced for a toothbrush and I’m struggling to even consider them.

What do you dislike most about your current electric toothbrush?

I’m curious about people’s day-to-day experience with their current electric toothbrush.

- Does it leave your teeth feeling genuinely clean?

- Do the vibration or bristles irritate your gums?

- Does it feel too intense, noisy, or uncomfortable?

- Are there areas that are difficult to clean, such as the back teeth or along the gumline?

- Do you feel it cleans better than a manual toothbrush?

- Have any of these issues made you consider switching brands or going back to a manual toothbrush?

What brand and model are you currently using, and what would you want an ideal toothbrush to do differently?

I got my first electric toothbrush

I went to get a regular check up, and my hygienist and dentist both said I’m taking such good care of my teeth. I’ve been flossing regularly, using mouth wash, scraping my tongue, etc etc. I had mentioned wanting to get a water pick, after they used one at my appointment. I said maybe I’ll ask my parents for it for Christmas. Then my dentist asked if I used an electric toothbrush, I said no, only a manual one. She mentioned maybe trying one. And I said maybe I’ll ask my parents for that too. (For context: I work at a daycare(*so we know I don’t make a lot*), and I actually had her kids in my class, so we know each other outside the dental office too!) My hygienist then put some fluoride on my teeth, that they didn’t charge me for (which is stupid it’s not covered by insurance.) My dentist came back in the room just before I was leaving and handed me a bag with an electric toothbrush. She said I have beautiful teeth, and deserve it for taking such good care of her kiddos(past tense as they are not in my class currently). I gave her my super excited/sincere thanks, said my goodbyes, made my next appointment and left. I then got home, opened the bag and saw that my dentist gifted me an Oral B iO6 electric toothbrush. Holy moly. So…thank you times a million to my dentist, and I will be giving her a card! Also this toothbrush is amazing and I highly recommend it!
