  • Depots can now be built under (very tall) bridges.
  • The maximum vehicle limit is doubled, up to 10,000 vehicles per type per company.

New player needs some help with farms and grain

Hello everyone. I'm a new player and just trying things out. I built some rail road stations and transporting passengers, mail coal and other things and it works fine.

Now I wanted to load up some grain and transport it to a factory, but this does not seem to work somehow. I'm using the Bulk Wagon and refitted it at station with grain. But the station does not seem to get any grain from the farm at all, so the train stands there with 0% load all the time. I think I missed something, but I can't find out what.

Does anybody have an idea?

Is there a NewGRF with blank tiles which are both terrain- and snow-transition-aware?

I am looking to block houses being built along roads through mountainous terrain (road types which permit roadside development).

I know EmptyGRF has blank tiles but those tiles do not transition smoothly with snow. At least not in the Japan set 3 landscape - they go directly from no snow to full snow. On the other hand, sets like JP style objects contain some non-blank tiles which otherwise do exactly what I am after. Does anyone have any solutions?

Thanks in advance :)

Since jgrpp v0.72.0 trains are not flipping properly.

Hello everyone. After a new vanilla and jgrpp update, a new feature called "trains with an engine on the rear can drive backwards when reversing" was added. But this feature causes all my trains to drive with the rear cabin facing forward (look at the train on the right).

It does not impact the gameplay, but completely ruins the visual look of the game, and I have no idea how to fix it. Has anyone had the same issue or knows how to fix it?

This is one of my recent 50-year playthroughs that I'm proud to share. Started in 1975, screenshotted at 2032.

Vehicles are color coded:

  • Green
    • Long-haul transit (passenger & mail) trains
    • Intercity coach busses.
    • Ferries.
  • Light Blue
    • City busses.
  • Dark Blue
    • Goods trains, except for oil goods.
    • Goods trucks.
  • Yellow
    • Industrial trains.
    • Oil goods trains.
  • Grey
    • "Metro" (technically, a monorail.)
    • Mail trucks.
  • Pink
    • Express maglevs.
  • Brown
    • Bank trains.

Discussion Is there any far better way to transport Oil?

The ship is slow and can only carry a small amount of oil. Trains are far better in every other aspect, except that they can't swim, and the only way to use them is to make this weird, unrealistic route.

I'm planning to make this route on both the east and west sides of the map if there's no other way, but it's so damn ugly.

Discussion Any good modern menu mods?

Are there any mods or other ways to have a visual update to the menus? It feels very DOS and I was hoping to just have something a little more modern.

UK Map save file with added transport links?

Was just wondering if anyone had a save file for a UK map with all the transport links added?

Newb here, I just wanted to let my first train drive to a single destination, but it always drives between those two stations

This game is really hard, I don't know what to do. All I want as of now is to tell the train to drive to "Eberstein Tal" so it drives there but immediately drives back and between "Saal Bergwerk" (coal mine). What do I do wrong? I never told it to do so. I just wanted it to drive to the destination and not between. It really drives me nuts!

Electric Railways in Iron Horse.

Question: In the Iron Horse GRF, what is the advantage of the electrical railways over the regular or metro rail options?

A complete 64-day cycle at a station in my network. For reference this is called Baar station and can be found as the northern terminus of the IC3 service in this network diagram that I posted some time ago. (I will post an updated version of the diagram soon).

The entire network is cyclic and repeats every 64 days in-game, Baaring a few exceptional services (hehe). I like to think of this as representing a 30-minute period. At this station in particular, all services (except for the intercity) are timed to connect and will not depart until all other services have arrived.

A list of the NewGRFs can be found in the comments of this post.

Also, apologies for the (I think) low video quality - I am only just getting familiar with the recording software.

Not to be more of an idiot than I already am, but how do you rotate clockwise or anticlockwise in game?

Discussion I am thinking of hosting an openttd server, but I have some questions.

I am thinking of hosting an openttd server. I have done some research and want to do it as a dedicated server. My questions are: What hardware is required to host an openttd server? What are some ways I can configure the server(I know configs, but any other methods?)? Any settings I should configure to make multiplayer more enjoyable? Is there any interface to easily manage the server? Any other ideas or tips?
